So You Have Loved Me Too - Chapter 53

As Ji Anning pondered bafflingly, she said gently, “Mhm.” Without taking the initiative to probe, she waited for Ji Jingfeng to speak.

“Anan, I’m sorry. I was wrong for being an asshole. I don’t want to break up with you since we are childhood sweethearts.”

Ji Jingfeng said particularly regretfully.

What was going on?

The unexpected apology and repentance left Ji Anning stunned.

She almost instinctively asked, “What happened?”

Last night, he heartlessly turned against her. How could his attitude experience a 360-degree change overnight?

As she contemplated, Ji Jingfeng said in a mollifying manner again, “Anan, I thought about it all night. You’re still the best. Where are you now? Shall I come and pick you up?”

Very quickly, he said again, “Mom called asking where you were. I called last night, but your phone was off the whole time. She’s dying from anxiety now and called me asking. I told her we were together last night.”

“Ji Jingfeng, what do you want exactly? Is messing with me your idea of a tantalizing game?”

Incapable of guessing what Ji Jingfeng was up to, Ji Anning got a little frustrated.

There was no way she could believe he would suddenly regret overnight. Something must have happened.

Suddenly, something came to her mind.

“I’ll help you handle those threats the scumbag and his mistress made on account of how close we are.”

That fellow!

Gaping her mouth in shock, Ji Anning found it incomprehensible. Although utterly mystified, no other plausible explanation sprang to mind other than him.

After mulling, she hung up without telling Ji Jingfeng. She opened her short messaging application to locate his number and got ready to call him.

Suddenly, she recalled since the fellow refused to let her hear his own voice the whole time, he surely would not answer her phone call. Instead, she sent a short text message, “Did you look my fiancé up?”

Shortly after sending out the text, he replied immediately, “Please correct how you call the scumbag. Let me repeat… scumbag.”

Ji Anning, “…”

Was this the point?

Rolling her eyes speechlessly at the mobile phone screen, Ji Anning asked again, “Did you look him up?”

“Although I didn’t look for him, I got someone to do it. There’s nothing for you to fear. Just go home with him righteously.”

So it was him!

Despite making the speculation herself, Ji Anning could not contain her amazement. She was both surprised and suspicious as to how he accomplished it.

As she contemplated, he sent another text message, “I’m busy. There’s a sandwich in the fridge. Finish it before you go. Let the scumbag wait.”

This monster was truly so cunning and atrocious… that he could rival him.

At a thought, Ji Anning’s expression could not help turning dusky.

Abruptly, another text message came, “Remember, you’re not to have physical contact with the scumbag, not even hand-holding.”

Ji Anning, “…”

She rolled her eyes without responding. Putting down her mobile phone, Ji Jingfeng called yet again as she prepared to blowdry her hair.

Keeping up the current appearance was more advantageous for her.

Ji Anning told Ji Jingfeng where she was.

After blowdrying her hair, she walked up in front of the refrigerator to open its door. There were a few bottles of yogurt and milk, along with a sandwich.

Suddenly, an indescribable sensation surfaced in her heart, feeling somewhat… conflicting.

The second she opened the fridge door, the monster’s words got summoned to mind. As they did, the thought of someone else got evoked and flashed through her mind too.

Without giving her the opportunity to consider, Ji Jingfeng rushed her incessantly on the phone. She could only consume the sandwich while she walked.
