Without considering Ji Anning’s disposition, he pulled her along, leaving no opening for refusal.

All eyes were on them as Ji Anning got dragged away by Qi Helian.

“Young Master Ji, she’s here,” Qi Helian brought Ji Anning into his rest area and sent her before Ji Chicheng.

With his narrow phoenix-shaped eyes set on Ji Chicheng, he smiled in an unquestionably misleading manner.

Young Master Ji? Ji Anning’s pupils dilated to its threshold as she raised her head to see a familiar face.

The man gazed at her with his profound, dark eyes, which were so deep that his thoughts and emotions at this very moment were unfathomable.

Only two words came to mind as Ji Anning stared: I’m dead meat!

At the sight of Ji Anning’s bewilderment, Qi Helian casually smiled and said, “I see you know each other.”

It came as no surprise.

“Do you want to be a superstar?” Ji Chicheng looked expressionlessly at Ji Anning. As he gazed at her red eye rims and long disheveled hair, he clenched his fists tightly in his pant pockets.

Ji Anning lowered her head in silence.

She wanted to deny harboring dreams of becoming a superstar; all she wanted was to have some income and savings.

But there was no use explaining that to him.

As she dejectedly waited for her end to come, above her came Ji Chicheng’s cold voice again, “Just go straight to Qi Helian. It’s not like you don’t know each other.”

Once he heard that, Qi Helian furrowed his brows, “Wait a sec. Do we know each other?”

He bent over to scan up and down Ji Anning then scrutinized her face.

Suddenly recalling, he pointed at Ji Anning and opened his mouth in amazement, “It’s… Jingfeng’s wife?”

Ji Chicheng’s already stern features instantly turned as black as coal, “Qi Helian, don’t you have filming to do?”

Shivering from his wintry manner, Qi Helian promptly shut up and turned to sit down on his recliner. He gave Ji Chicheng the space to reprimand his nephew’s wife for clandestinely being a body double.

He hung around watching while waiting for a good show.

The entire time, Ji Anning kept her head down too afraid to raise it as she could sense Ji Chicheng’s chilly gaze trained on her.

She was currently trying to decide whether or not to run.

Sure enough, misfortune befell her the minute this fellow came back.

She had worked as an extra for two years or so, keeping it under wraps all this time, but she got exposed the minute he came back.

There was no other reason but that they must have been born enemies.

Ji Anning smiled bitterly.

The silent atmosphere left Ji Anning particularly stifled as she wrung her skirt hem with her hands tightly.

“Qi Helian, let her be the female lead on my account.”

Concealing the annoyance in his coldness, Ji Chicheng finally spoke as he veered his head to the side, he looked at Qi Helian, who was lying back lazily.

At the sound of that, Ji Anning raised her head, looking up at him and shook her head, “No… Little Uncle.”

Since young, he looked down on her for her cowardice. Now that she became a body double, he must feel she was embarrassing the Jis as she could sense that he was truly mad.

But she could not let him tell the family about it, or else she was done for. Based on her grandfather’s temperament, she was bound to get banned from ever setting foot in the university again.

The old man would have Ji Jingfeng tie the knot with her immediately and have children.

Ji Anning contemplated, then stepped forward without hesitation and held Ji Chicheng by his wrist. With all her might, she begged him, “Little Uncle, I know I’m in the wrong. I honestly do. Please don’t tell Grandpa.”

The rims of her eyes, which were already red, got worse as tears gradually welled in her eyes.
