It was late August in Ocean City. A light breeze greeted the night. At the city center, stood the tallest skyscraper, which sparkled brilliantly from top to bottom.

On the top floor was the presidential suite, where a girl’s piercing cries of agony broke through the silence of the night.

Pain surged through her lower body as though something got ripped apart. A body bore down on her so hard it left her breathless.

Steadily, Ji Anning regained consciousness and opened her eyes…

It was pitch-black before her eyes. What is going on?

It was not the darkness of night… Instead, her eyes were blindfolded. This alarmed her.

Heavens, am I dreaming? Am I just having an erotic dream?

My eyes are blindfolded no less, so it is bordering on S and M.

As the saying goes, daytime musings were bound to catch with you at night. I customarily did not have thoughts as blush-worthy and shameful as this, so why this dream?

Am I going through a phase where young girls start developing crushes?

But the pain from the lower half of her body got progressively more distinct and intense. A man breathed heavily by her ear while her body dripped in sweat. Everything about this seemed surreal to her.

“Ah…”

Swiftly, the person pinning her down thrusted mischievously. The searing pain made her scream uncontrollably. She instinctively reached her hands out and gripped his strong shoulders. Her nails were almost sinking into his flesh.

This… this is no dream!

Ji Anning suddenly gained lucidity. The blackness obscuring her sight left her utterly horrified.

“Who are you? Where am I?” She pushed hard against the man’s chest with both hands.

She did not even bother to consider what she was doing a second, a minute, or even an hour ago… she did not have the time to contemplate how she ended up lying here.

All she wanted was to chase the man pressing against her away.

But no matter how much she pounded at him, the man’s well-toned body continued to pin her down motionlessly.

A faint scent intermingled with the man’s breathing, which he was expelling heavily onto her face. It seemed as though it was laced with psychedelic drugs which slipped her into a momentary trance.

Then, in terror, she helplessly reached her hand out in an attempt to undo her blindfold. But before her hand made it, another one restrained her by her wrist.

“Ahhh!”

She screamed hysterically. Then tried hard to fling the man’s hand away, “Let me go. Let me go now!”

“Anan.”

The husky male voice was akin to fine mellow wine. It was so mesmerizing that in a twinkling, it softened even time and space, while the faint scent lingered in the air.

Ji Anning was stunned. Her mouth, which parted slightly, was bereft of speech. A long while later, she found her tongue and said, “Is it you, Jingfeng?”

It was soft, with deliberate hoarseness and an altered tone. She was unsure if it was Ji Jingfeng.

But this man who called me, Anan, so comfortably. Who else could it be other than Jingfeng?

At the thought of that, Ji Anning subtly heaved a sigh of relief. She moved in with the Jis when she was six years old as Ji Jingfeng’s child bride.

Today was both her and Ji Jingfeng’s birthday and also the day of their engagement. If it was indeed him, then she…

“Eya!”

While Ji Anning mulled, the man ruthlessly penetrated her without warning.

As though he was letting off steam.

“Anan, I finally get to see you again.”

Ji Anning, now exhausted and in agony, lost consciousness. The man’s voice drifted into her ears. She was incapable of discerning whether it was reality or an illusion.

It was so near yet so far—a sense of familiarity and an unclear attitude.
