When Jiang Ming and Lan Xin walked out of the kitchen with the dishes, they saw Chikage, Zhao Long, Jiang Xinwen, and the driver coming into the house.
“Huhu~~~~ Brother…”
As soon as Jiang Xinwen walked into the room and saw Jiang Ming who was holding the dishes in his hands, her eyes welled up with tears as she quickly ran towards him.
“Little sister.”
Jiang Ming placed the plates on the table and caught Jiang Xinwen who pounced on him. He gently patted her back and comforted her. “Silly girl. Why did you quit school? If it wasn’t because I accidentally came across the message, I wouldn’t have known that you were coming back. I was too occupied before this and I didn’t get to see your message. I’m so sorry!”
“You’re such a liar! Why didn’t you tell me that you already left the guild? Why didn’t you tell me that you were collecting garbage because your arms were injured? Let me see…”
Jiang Xinwei grabbed Jiang Ming’s arms and looked at it while crying. When she saw the scars on his wrist, her tears poured down even faster as she covered her mouth as she cried out loud.
“It’s alright. Everything’s good now. See? I’m in one piece now!” When Jiang Ming saw Jiang Xinwen crying, he felt a sense of warmth in his heart. Then, he hugged her and said, “It hasn’t been that bad. Look around. I can still live in such a big house, does it look like it’s bad?”
Lan Xin, who was standing behind Jiang Ming, couldn’t help but sob when she heard what Jiang Ming said.
Was it bad?
Of course, it was!
She knew what Jiang Ming had been through for the past 3 years. Although she never appeared in front of him, she was always there, hiding in a corner. She saw how a man who used to be confident started begging for a bottle that only cost a dollar, how he only ate one piece of bread for dinner as he continued riding on his tricycle. She even saw him crying in that small, dirty room and also saw him being angry at himself as he stared at both his arms that were injured. Lan Xin was there when she saw him wanting to fight a stray dog just for a piece of meat…
As she thought about all the things that he has been through, her heart started aching and she couldn’t help but cry as well.
“Ayy, why are you crying as well?” When Jiang Ming heard cries from behind and saw Lan Xin burying her face in her hands, he sighed. Then, he pulled Lan Xin towards him and said, “Come on, we’re all alright now. Stop crying, okay? Look at this house! Doesn’t it look like a rich man’s house?”
“That’s true. If Brother Ming wants, he could easily earn millions!” The driver suddenly interrupted.
As soon as he finished his sentence, everyone around him looked at him while Jiang Ming and Chikage gave him a cold stare.
“Uh~~ Look at the weather. What a beautiful day to wash my car. I’m going to go wash my car now.”
The driver trembled when he noticed Chikage and Jiang Ming staring at him. Then, he pointed to the window and ran out of the house as he was afraid that Chikage and Jiang Ming might chop him into pieces if he stayed there any longer.
When Jiang Xinwen saw the driver who was running out of the house, she laughed. “That guy is so funny.”
“Hehe, his name is Two Nine. He’s my driver. So we usually just call him Driver,” Zhao Long said with a smile.
“Two Nine? Such a weird name.” Jiang Xinwen smiled as she wiped off the tears on her face.
Jiang Ming let out a sigh of relief when he saw her sister laughing and said, “Come, let’s have dinner. Brother Long, why don’t you get Two Nine and we can have dinner together.”
Zhao Long nodded his head as he called Two Nine. Then, all of them sat around the table and had a wonderful meal that was filled with jokes and laughter.
As both Lan Xin and Jiang Xinwen had small appetites and they didn’t drink, Lan Xin and Jiang Xinwen went on a tour of the house.
And the funny thing that happened was, just as Chikage picked up a piece of fish and was about to eat it, Jiang Xinwen actually picked Chikage up in her arms. This was because Jiang Xinwen loved cats and when she saw Chikage, she immediately fell in love with it.
Zhao Long and Two Nine looked at the scene where Jiang Xinwen was stroking Chikage, they couldn’t help but think to themselves: If this girl realized that the cat that she’s holding on to just killed four people and also drove a car, what would she think?
Just as Lan Xin and Jiang Xinwen walked out of the room, the conversation changed.
Wen Dong put down his chopstick and asked Zhao Long with a serious look on his face, “Let me guess, you’re Zhao Long from the White Dragon Gang?”
“Woah… you know me?” Zhao Long noticed Wen Dong’s change of expression and asked curiously.
“Do I know you?! I obviously do!” Wen Dong’s tone suddenly changed as he continued, “Do you remember Jiang Dong Clan? One year ago, you guys came and destroyed our place and even injured some of our guys!”
“You’re the boss of Jiang Dong Clan?” Zhao Long suddenly remembered something and frowned.
When Jiang Ming heard what Wen Dong said, he was shocked. Then, he turned and asked, “Wen Dong, when did you get involved with all these? You even became the head of a gang?”
Wen Dong sighed and helplessly said, “You know that I was initially in the Yama Guild and I used to do a lot of dirty things for them. When you were betrayed and you left, I left as well along with a group of them that were still loyal to you. Then, I decided to start a small clan with them and we named it after both our names. We started gathering people and looked after a few territories in H City until your friend over here came about and destroyed us. Now, we’re just stuck in some suburban area.”
“I’m so sorry, Brother. If I knew that you were Jiang Ming’s good friend, I wouldn’t have let them do that. But for what I’ve done in the past, I shall punish myself with three shots here.” Then, Zhao Long immediately took three shots.
What the sh*t, Wen Dong just mentioned that the Jiang Dong Clan was named after both their names. What if Jiang Ming got angry at them for doing it? He might as well apologize first before anyone else said anything.
Two Nine continued eating his dinner and did not say a word as he was known for saying the wrong things at the wrong time.
“Well, you both settle it on your own. I don’t want to be involved.” Jiang Ming really never wanted to be involved with all these things, even if it was just listening to their conversation. He was worried that he might be influenced. Therefore, he quickly told them to stop the conversation.
Zhao Long and Wen Dong immediately shut up when they heard Jiang Ming.
The conversation just now made the atmosphere a little tense. So, they quickly finished their meal. Wen Dong walked out with Zhao Long to discuss something.
Jiang Ming thought of checking out what his sister was doing and when he saw that Jiang Xinwen was happily chatting with Lan Xin, he didn’t want to disturb them. Then, he went back to his own room and entered the game since he still hadn’t made much progress on the first level of the inheritance mission. He still had no clue regarding the ‘Demon’s Child’ mission.
