Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss - Chapter 31
Yu Minglang was dumbstruck.
“Weren’t you about to get married?”
“No certification, just a wedding ceremony. But now I don’t even have to get married.”
Xiaoqian saw that he was shocked, but could not understand why. She asked, “What’s wrong?”
Then she realized.
Silly Yu regretted it because he found out that she was still a student?
She took the passbook from her pocket to give to him.
“Regretting it now? Here you go!”
“It’s for you to use, keep it. Don’t worry about other things.” Yu Minglang was troubled after learning the fact. He spoke with a slightly colder tone with Xiaoqian. It was not targeted at Xiaoqian but himself.
He almost made a mistake!
Xiaoqian looked at him expressionlessly and said, “I will not be grateful to you.” She reminded him that even if he was good to her, she would not return the favor!
Yu Minglang shoved the passbook in her pocket and remained silent. Xiaoqian read his reaction as hiding his regret. She was peeved and refused to engage in a conversation with him.
He drove to the laundry shop, where Xiaoqian’s home was. Xiaoqian was going to open the door, but he did not unlock the car. He took a pen and paper to write a bunch of numbers.
“This is the passbook number. This is my phone number and my friend’s phone number. If I don’t pick up your call and if you are in some kind of emergency, call this number. You can call him brother Zhao. he is a good friend of mine, you can tell him anything.”
Xiaoqian noticed that he wrote with his left hand.
He wrote in regular script, the handwriting was bold and vigorous.
“You are a lefty?”
“I’m ambidextrous. My left hand writes better regular script and my right hand writes better running script. I wasn’t sure if you’ll be able to read it.”
“…!” Looked down on people!
“Give me your address.” Although he knew they could not be involved in a romantic relationship. He saw her as a sister…mmm, that was a painful realization.
Xiaoqian wrote her university address in a perfect running script.
This girl…the corner of Yu Minglang’s mouth lifted. She’s so adorable. This must be a response to his earlier statement questioning her ability to read running script.
More interestingly, she used two scripts to write it. Psychologists were doctors too. An average person would not be able to understand the doctors’ handwriting.
The address that she wrote was of a prestigious university. It was the best university in the province. This girl must have great results in school.
He was a top student himself and he liked smart women.
However, this smart woman was too young…
With a heavy heart, Yu Minglang drove the car and left. Even the exhaust pipe of the car was expressing just how sad he was.
“Silly Yu, you’re stupid. I won’t appreciate your kindness or your money. Your effort is wasted!” Xiaoqian said that but as she watched the Cherokee leave her sight, it seemed there was a different feeling emerging.
After Yu Minglang left, he did not go home but he went to the electrical city in Q town. It was owned by his childhood friend, Hai zhao. He was the guy that he mentioned to Xiaoqian just now.
Hai Zhao was a capitalist. He was instructing his staff to increase the price of all the fans.
“Tear off the labels and increase 20 bucks. Remember to increase the price after half an hour. Change the labels anytime, alright? They may not buy, but we have to create the mentality of scarcity. Remember that!”
As Hai Zhao was shouting, Yu Minglang came in. He walked toward him and punched him on the shoulder.
“What brought you here?”
Yu Minglang glanced at him and gave him a disdained look.
“Haha, the temperature is going to rise these two days. I’ve observed and investigated the market. We have the most fans in town. So, I have to increase the price. If not, after the hot days are over, nobody would buy the fans anymore. Come, come to my office and we’ll talk.
They grew up together and they did many mischievous things together. Their friendship remained strong after they grew up. Although Yu Minglang always teased that Hai Zhao was an unscrupulous businessman.
Hai Zhao looked at Yu Minglang with his jaw dropped as though he saw a monster. Then he extended his hands on Yu Minglang’s face to shake it left and right.
“Have you gone mad?” Yu Minglang frowned.
“This is crazy, my brother! You never consume alcohol, right? When we were young, you would cry when you saw dead cats and dogs…”
“Did you kill someone’s pig in the village?”
“I’ll kill you!”
“Mm, then it must be your aunts, they’re bugging you to go on a blind date?”
“When have they stopped bugging me about blind dates?”
“Then it is strange…Yu Minglang, are you suffering from early andropause?
Other than this, Hai Zhao could not think of any other reason why Yu Minglang who was a stubborn man, would be troubled and needed to alcohol. Yu Minglang never touched alcohol.
“Scarm!” Yu Minglang could not take it anymore and kicked him.
He would not be so angry if he could sleep.
“Alright, no matter what’s troubling you. I’ll drink with you. Come to my hotel. But you have to wait for a while. I have to finish the work here. I need to push the sales of those fans, then I’ll treat you to lunch!”
Hai Zhou patted Yu Minglang’s shoulder and left.
Yu Minglang stood in Hai Zhao’s office, watching the people outside the window.
There were so many women out there, but everyone looked like the Zhou Zhiruo look-alike. Everyone looked just like her.
