Reset of The Apocalypse - Chapter 41

‘These are… the jumbo croc’s eggs?’

Lin Chao landed before the nine golden crocodile eggs and was immediately hit by a light whiff of a salty, fishy scent. A few thin strands of blood were still stuck on one of the eggs, evidence that they were just laid.

‘Golden class eggs?’ Lin Chao checked carefully and discovered that there was no secondary color on the eggshells. They were entirely gold with a glimmering sheen. Lin Chao’s heart rate picked up. If these pure golden eggs were hatched, the offspring were definitely Golden class creatures!

Each Golden class creature possessed an unlimited growth potential and could grow infinitely, provided that they had sufficient resources.

Lin Chao did not plan to nurture a Golden class creature. He could not afford to. The jumbo crocodile, for example, was only at its growing phase, it was not even at a mature stage yet, but its daily food intake was at least a ton. When a Golden class creature came to maturity, it could wolf down a mountain a day!

It was not in Lin Chao’s plan to be burdened by such a creature. The reason he was intrigued was none other than the sterling Golden Blood in these Golden class creatures!

To any Evolved, the Golden Blood was fatally luring. It could increase the cell growth potential and modify the genetics to increase its level. Apart from strengthening the basic physique and evolving cells, the other method to become stronger was to enhance genetic levels!

Only items left in the prehistoric ruins that could elevate the genetics level, only by a small scale without obvious effect, yet people would still rush to buy or even snatch them.

Ergo, the Golden Blood was currently known to be the most effective thing that could enhance one’s genetics!

Lin Chao wondered to what extent could the Golden Blood contained in the nine crocodile eggs modify his genetics.

Swoop!

He opened the alternate dimension space, keeping the eggs inside there and flew away from the crocodile island.

Not too long after Lin Chao left, the earth on the crocodile island shook and ripples creased the lake water. A giant could be seen dashing from afar. It was the jumbo crocodile that had fled earlier!

Its head was no longer bleeding, scabs already forming on its wounds. Although it looked absolutely tragic, it was still moving at a fast speed. Going across the lake and sprinting to the island in the center, it bellowed into the sky when it saw the nest of gold eggs missing on the lawn, its tone grieving.

.

Lin Chao flapped his wings to the outside of the zoo and saw the Golden Hound laying near a zombie, chomping on its internal organs.

Landing beside it and withdrawing his wings. After a long usage time, Lin Chao could feel that there was not much energy left in the wings. They would need to recharge through light energy for use again.

The Golden Hound looked up on guard when it heard the noise. Seeing it that it was Lin Chao, it hopped off of the carcass quickly to snuggle to the legs of his pants pandering.

Lin Chao kicked it away and huffed, “Clean yourself.”

Turning away sadly, the Golden Hound went to the grass on the side and rubbed the carrion stuck on the fur of its chest to the grass before prancing again to Lin Chao.

The both of them sped home.

When they arrived at the temporary shelter, Lin Chao asked the two girls not to disturb him and went into his room.

Closing the door, he activated the alternate dimension space impatiently to retrieve a golden crocodile egg.

As the two-meter tall golden egg sat on the bed, their hefty weight made the soft mattress sink. Lin Chao activated the Modified Dragon Wings right away; the front raven feathers of the wings were incredibly sharp, so Lin Chao wrapped the wings around the very top of the giant egg, drawing one-tenth of his feathers in a circle around it.

Crack!

A thin line split the golden eggshell, which was half as hard as the steel, opened as the black feathers traced the circumference. A thick golden liquid that had an odd, light fishy scent flowed over from the inside.

Lin Chao flipped the oval eggshell at the top open. Sticky golden fluid brimmed, looking like beaten egg yolk. Nothing was formed yet to birth the baby Golden Crocodile.

In a heated gaze, Lin Chao had only heard about the Golden Blood in his past life. This was his first time seeing it despite having lived twice!

He took off his clothes speedily and climbed onto the top of the golden crocodile egg, sinking himself in from the aperture made on the eggshell. As he dipped into the liquid, the golden gel spilled a little.

Ice cool!

The sticky Golden Blood felt like iced water. It seeped into him like it had a life of its own, running in through his pores.

As the Golden Blood trickled into him, Lin Chao felt his insides burning, like a ball of flame igniting in his chest, bones and flesh had all turned into the fuel. Every inch of him was on fire.

The pain was barely significant to Lin Chao who had endured the Level S pain index. He could easily withstand it without batting an eye.

All of a sudden, Lin Chao felt something slippery hitting his stomach. Stunned, he grabbed it and found that it was a lump of golden flesh. It was about the size of a fist, most probably a baby Golden Crocodile that was not yet formed; there was no outline of its head or body, barely making it a lifeform.

Lin Chao stuffed it into his mouth and gobbled it up. It tasted a little fishy, similar to sashimi.

A bit more than ten minutes later, Lin Chao realized that the level of Golden Blood in the crocodile egg went down a few centimeters unknowingly, as if it had been digested by him.

The churning in his body continued. The pain index was at least twenty now, double the pain of giving birth. If it had been ordinary people, they would have fainted from the ache.

Lin Chao looked calm as he concentrated his awareness to feel the change within his body.

As the Golden Blood flowed within him, his bones, blood, and muscle tissues were blazing. His skin was also going through a mini transformation, becoming more resilient, smooth and fair, like he had shed a layer of skin.

Eight hours flew by.

It was around ten o’clock at night. The city outside the window was painted black as the street lights turned off. Lin Chao was still standing inside the crocodile egg. The Golden Blood inside the egg was thoroughly dried, completely absorbed by him. Yet he did not swell up, still looking the same, perhaps even a little more sculpted.

Did so much Golden Blood just vanish burning within me? Lin Chao touched his arm with disbelief.

Feeling himself, realizing that his physique was not elevated. It was still twenty times, but the weight of his saturated cells earlier was no longer felt. It meant that the growth potential of his cells had increased and could take a few more times of basic physique enhancement before evolving.

Other than that, there was an additional cold stream inside him that circulated in his abdomen.

Lin Chao tried to maneuver it, assuming that it would be difficult. However, the cold stream conceded to his thoughts and flowed to his palm.

At that instant, the skin of his palm turned gold!
