Shi Su woke up early the next day.

Before going to bed last night, she had more or less felt a sense of guilt. He had not died despite crashing down the cliff, but what if she had added onto his injuries?

She quietly opened the bedroom door and found the inside to be extremely quiet. The man was probably still asleep. She softly walked over and probed his forehead, which was still a little hot likely because the wound had gotten torn from all his activities these past few days. However, his breathing was even and calm, and the gauze on his body did not continue oozing more blood.

It probably was not a serious matter.

Shi Su went downstairs to the twenty-four-hour pharmacy and bought a trauma medicine as well as an anti-inflammatory medicine. She lifted the gauze off his body, then gently, as lightly as possible, and carefully cleaned the wounds before applying the medicine.

Just as she finished all these, the alarm clock in her daughter’s room rang. She quickly slipped out of the master bedroom as if nothing happened.

When the door closed, unbeknown to Shi Su, the man slowly opened his eyes.

He heard the commotion outside as the woman urged her daughter to get up and wash. Shi Mianmian grumbled as she brushed her teeth, saying, “Mommy, the kindergarten teacher said that it’s best to be caring, so you mustn’t secretly throw uncle out when I’m away~”

Shi Su said unhappily, “Quickly brush your teeth and come out for breakfast, or else I’ll throw you out first!”

Their ordinary mornings were lively and cute.

Having become accustomed to the indifferent early morning abroad, Jing Jihan seemed to have entered another corner of the moral world and felt a sense of inexplicable tranquility.

Shi Mianmian took the school bus to kindergarten, and Shi Su hurriedly sorted her things.

Too many things had to be moved from the master bedroom to the child’s room, and she could not finish it all in one sitting.

She still needed a few more clothes to wear, which were all still in the master bedroom’s closet. She checked the time and saw that it was already 8:30 a.m. After heating another bowl of porridge, she opened the master bedroom.

She thought he would still be asleep and did not expect him to have sat up in bed already.

“Cough.” Shi Su cleared her throat. “I came in to get some clothes to wear. I’m in a rush this morning, so I didn’t make breakfast. I bought some porridge downstairs, and I’ve already heated it. Do you want to eat it?”

Jing Jihan looked at the woman, whose head was poking in halfway through the open door. “Thank you.”

The woman directly put the porridge on the bedside table. “There you go. I really don’t dare to let you eat anything oily or salty. Your injuries are too serious, so make do with porridge now.”

“It’s good enough.” He glanced at her. “You saved my life and have been taking care of me for so many days. You even got up early this morning to change my dressing. Thank you very much.”

His eyes were dark and alluring.

Shi Su paused, then looked away from him, and blinked twice in the direction of the closet. “Remember to pay me back by a hundred times.”

She hurriedly took her clothes and left.

“Oh, by the way.” She suddenly pushed open the door and poked her head in again. “There’s an old mobile phone in the drawer of the white cabinet next to the bed. I threw it there when I changed phones last year. The charger is also in there, but I don’t know if it still works. You can give it a try, and if it works, I’ll give you a secondary card so that you can call me if anything happens. When I’m too busy, I’ll call the uncle from the clinic to take care of you.”

Jing Jihan slowly stood up, enduring the severe pain in his every movement, and walked over to take out the phone.

Shi Su looked at his back and abdomen. If he had asked for her help, she would have willingly helped him. Did this man not feel the painful injuries on his body?

However, he did not seem to like asking others for help. Even if he wanted to stay here, he had talked of repaying her, including the food she gave him. It seemed like he was just a tenant or here for a transaction and did not have the intention to beg.

This handsome gentleman, who knew etiquette, still revealed his arrogance in every detail. How could his stubborn temper resemble Shi Mianmian so much?
