15 bandit leaders!
“How is this possible? Where did they come from?” The Fire Raven got nervous. It was known for its cowardly personality.
15 bandit leaders appeared behind Mohai, so there were 16 of them including him, but the Fiery Demon was not frightened as it commanded, “Calm down! Don’t embarrass me!”
“So, is this your answer? Do you think you can defy the Magma Lord with this? Let me break it to you. Even if you have 16 pieces of garbage, you are still garbage!” The Fiery Demon looked at Mohai and his bandit leaders with contempt.
“Die!”
A furious shout later, several lava balls swept across the night and flew towards Mohai and his bandit leaders.
“Charge!”
Mohai did not argue. Instead, he led the charge to the Fiery Demon.
The Fiery Demon was not being arrogant. All of them had Elite monster templates, but his template was a lot stronger than the bandit leaders’ templates.
On top of that, the Fiery Demon was on Level 17 and his attacks could severely restrain the bandit leaders. While he was familiar with every single skill of the bandit leaders, the bandit leaders were unclear about its skill.
Although 16 bandit leaders might not be able to take down the Fiery Demon, they were not common bandit leaders.
Bang! Bang!
Mohai did not order his men to dodge. The balls of lava crashed on several of the bandit leaders with each lava ball inflicting around 300 points of damage to their HPs.
Since a normal attack from the Fiery Demon could already inflict such damage, how powerful would his skills be? Mohai had a feeling that he might have a lot of HP as a monster, but compared to the various skills of a player, the monster was still at a disadvantage due to the narrow skillset.
As a player, casting a [Fireball] could only inflict around 100 points of damage at this level.
“Idiots! I’ll send you all back to the Sea of Death!”
“[Fire Vortex]!”
The balls of lava were just a test attack from the Fiery Demon. After he saw that the damage inflicted was within his expectations, he discarded his hesitation and rubbed his hands together. A cloud of fire appeared around the 16 bandit leaders and engulfed them whole.
As the fire cloud spun rapidly, Mohai and his 15 bandit leaders being sucked by a powerful force towards the center. The rapid spinning of the fire cloud ignited the air and everyone caught within was inflicted with a [Burned] debuff. Damage counters of 10 to 20 points popped up ceaselessly on top of everyone’s head.
“Today is the day you die!” the Fiery Demon muttered.
“[Magma Eruption]!” He then slowly melted and submerged into the ground.
The ground turned red and hot instantly as blistering smoke spewed out furiously as if it was a magma crevice from the Magma Zone erupting. One could see the blistering red on the ground from afar.
Kaboom!
A red blazing light burst out from the ground below one of the bandit leaders. He was engulfed whole and lost more than 1,000 HP in an instant.
The other bandit leaders were caught by the explosion and each of them lost around 100 HP.
The Fiery Demon’s attacks were terrifyingly powerful. Mohai, who had not acted, finally gave his first command, “Listen to my orders!”
The bandit leaders’ spirits were lifted as his voice entered their ears.
The Fiery Demon’s attacks were too powerful. Even if all of them had 6,000 to 7,000 HP each, they could not even get close to him to attack.
“No. 11, take one step to the left. No. 1, take two steps forward. No. 3, take one step to the left and then back away…” Mohai gave his commands swiftly. The bandit leaders executed his commands without delay and hesitation. Every move was carried out perfectly.
Kaboom! Kaboom! Kaboom!
Blazing red pillars of magma burst from the ground, but the attacks only grazed the bandit leaders.
Even though it might look like the bursting magma struck the bandit leaders, they were not hurt at all.
Amidst the furious and ceaseless attacks, the 16 bandit leaders slowly made their way closer to the spot where the Fiery Demon submerged himself.
“Impossible! How is this possible?!” Unable to maintain his calm any longer, the Fiery Demon was shocked to his core. If he missed the first two strikes, it might be a matter of luck, but after missing more than 10 strikes continuously, he could no longer blame his luck.
The Fiery Demon thought he was able to lower the bandit leaders’ HP to less than half with this AOE attack. Then, he would be able to snatch the mission scroll amidst the bandit leaders’ despair and fear.
He never thought that the situation would turn out like this.
‘What’s wrong, noob? Scared?’ Mohai grinned sinisterly.
Both the Fiery Demon and bandit leaders had Elite monster templates, but the former’s was a lot stronger.
The most obvious point was that the bandit leader had to meet a certain prerequisite before unleashing his skills. The Fiery Demon, however, had no limitations or restrictions, so he could use his skills at any point in the time.
[Fire Vortex] could not only trap the enemies, but it could also inflict [Burned] debuffs on the target. After being induced by [Burned], the target would receive double the damage when hit by the [Magma Eruption].
Therefore, the Fiery Demon was not afraid of 16 bandit leaders.
There were four Fiery Demons around the Magma Golem and the players who pioneered the Boss raid actually suffered a lot at this Fiery Demon’s hands. Before the players could figure out a way to counter the Fiery Demon, they could not even touch the Magma Golem.
However, that only happened during the early stages of the game. As players grew stronger and took down the Magma Golem, even solo players figured out a way to kill the Fiery Demon.
While the Fiery Demon’s attack was impressive, the downside was also obvious. There was actually a pattern of where the magma would erupt. If a player’s observation was sharp enough and his reflexes were fast enough, he could easily dodge all the magma explosion. It would only take slightly longer to solo-kill the Fiery Demon.
In his past life, Mohai had been a solo player during the start of the game, so he would never miss out on tactics that would allow him to solo-kill Elite monsters.
“What’s wrong? Is the Fiery Demon’s attack useless?” The Fire Raven was expecting the Fiery Demon to slaughter the bandit leaders but after it saw the scene, it flew to the sky and dared not linger anymore.
As for the three bandit leaders who sided with the Fiery Demon, they were afraid that they would be caught in the fiery clash, so they dared not stay too close either.
The Fiery Demon’s [Magma Eruption] had a 30-second duration.
With Mohai’s commands, the 15 bandit leaders managed to shorten the distance to the Fiery Demon in less than 30 seconds.
Even though the Fiery Demon was able to strike the bandit leaders occasionally, it was not enough to kill anyone of them. Moreover, Mohai had the Oath Cross in his hand, thus the Fiery Demon would not even stand a chance.
The Fiery demon was scared, anxious, and nervous, but he could not do anything. All he did was wait for the [Magma Eruption] to be over.
“You little b*stard! Just you wait, it’s not over!”
The Fiery Demon only had one AOE skill, and if it did not work, he would not be able to continue his attacks anymore. He emerged from the ground and wanted to escape after taunting Mohai and his men. Given that his level was higher and his speed was faster, if he could not win the battle, he would just escape back to the Magma Zone.
“Want to run away? Not so fast!” Mohai grinned.
The Fiery Demon then realized he was already surrounded by the bandit leaders.
Roar!
He roared and attempted to break out of the encirclement.
Being surrounded was nothing serious since he would still be able to escape, but he would have to endure some damage.
However, one of the bandit leaders jumped up and used [Heavy Bash] on Mohai’s command.
The Fiery Demon could actually dodge it, but Mohai had the situation under control. The Fiery Demon did not even realize the [Heavy Bash] was coming for him and was stunned.
Due to the difference in levels, the [Heavy Bash] only stunned the Fiery Demon for a second, but it was enough. Even if the Fiery Demon could move twice as fast, he could not escape the stun, let alone the fact that he was not even that fast.
After casting [Heavy Bash], that bandit leader used [Snatch] right away.
It failed without a doubt. However, right after the Fiery Demon recovered and tried to escape again, another bandit leader jumped in and stunned him. [Snatch] was cast right away.
“What are you guys looking at? Go in and help!” the Fire Raven shouted at the several bandit leaders that sided with them.
Going up against 16 bandit leaders?
The bandit leaders looked at each other in doubt before they saw how the 16 bandit leaders tortured the Fiery Demon. They then scattered away without saying anything.
Compared to the cowardly Fire Raven, with some Notoriety in him, Mohai was much more terrifying to the bandit leaders.
“Damn it! You useless b*stards! Just you wait! You will regret this!” the Fire Raven cawed, “Fiery Demon, hold on! I’ll go get reinforcements!”
The Fiery Demon was heavily surrounded and it was almost impossible for him to escape. If the Fiery Demon was killed, the next to die would be the Fire Raven. Therefore, the Fire Raven cowardly dumped the Fiery Demon behind and flew away for its life.
A while after the Fire Raven left, one of the bandit leaders shouted excitedly, “Leader, I’ve got it!”
