Rebirth: An Assassin’s Revenge - Chapter 7

Melody kept feeling that something bad would happen when they finally reached Golden Paradise. There were bouncers all around the clubhouse. “Luna, we should go. This is Rick Muti’s territory. It would only mean trouble if we anger him.”

Rick Muti was someone quite infamous in the eastern part of the city. He worked with both the government and the shadier side of society.

Thanks to Rick Muti’s protection, Golden Paradise was completely safe for the past five years since it started operating.

Today, Luna was wearing a white T-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans, completely showing off the curves of her legs.

She wore a pair of large sunglasses covering her oval face as she stood straight without fear. She said to Melody, “Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing.”

Melody finally felt that Luna had really changed.

If she had to use a word to describe her, she had to choose the word “reborn.”

She suddenly calmed down as well, and she didn’t even know why. She nodded and said, “Alright. Let’s go!”

Once she entered the hall, the receptionist was shocked to see that Luna had arrived. “Ms. Brooke.”

Luna approached the table and gave it a knock. “Where’s Emmett?”

She had come here a few times. All of them were to settle the trouble that he had started.

The receptionist knew who she was, and looked at her with pity.

She finally knew why they were pitying her. They treated her as the crazy woman that was being taken advantage of!

“Third floor, the pool room,” the receptionist had just finished saying that when he saw Luna bring Melody directly to the third floor. She seemed different somehow, as if she were a patron who frequented this place as well.

Luna and Melody could hear laughter from behind the large doors. Luna put away her sunglasses and let Melody wait outside as she went in alone, “Hello everyone. Having fun?!”

The men around the pool table turned and saw a beautiful face that was both familiar and unfamiliar.

Was that the same eldest daughter of the Brooke family that they knew? She felt like a completely different person.

“Emmett, your sister’s here to pay for you again! How nice!” The son of a social climber whistled and then used the cue stick to strike the cue ball into the pocket. “Ms. Brooke, your brother borrowed a hundred thousand from me last night. Since we’re so well-acquainted, I don’t need the interest. Just give me a hundred thousand. Not bad, right?”

How shameless. No wonder he could become friends with Emmett. After all, birds of a feather flock together.

“And me too. Emmett borrowed fifty thousand from me.” Another young man added as if they were already used to Luna paying all of Emmett’s debts.

And Emmett was even worse. He immediately went over and extended his hand towards her. “Since you’re here already, pay my debts for me!”

Luna scanned him from head to toe with a sneer as she said, “Me? Pay your debt? Emmett Brooke, have you looked at a mirror lately?”

“What did you say?” Emmett narrowed his eyes. He wanted to fly into a rage at her, but when he remembered all the new debts that he had accumulated, he could only sigh and said to her softly, “Sis, I know that you’re still angry at what my mom and sister did, but those have nothing to do with me! Alexander White must have given you a lot of money, right? I only owe this 150 thousand! For real!”

He had heard about what had happened at home for the past few days. However he believed that even if Luna were to marry Alexander White, a puppet would still be a puppet. She could never escape from being manipulated.

What happened at her birthday party was just the final wail of a woman on the brink of collapse. How could she really change?

Luna smiled and let out a cold smile. “Before my mother had passed away, she only had one daughter. Me. You’re just the son of a mistress and you’re no brother of mine. You want money? Find your own blood sister! She’s with Clarence Oak now, so she has plenty of money!”

Before she even finished her sentence, Emmett’s face had already darkened and said, “Luna Brooke, know your place! Do you think you’re safe now that you’re with Alexander White? You’re in my territory now! Don’t think that you can leave this place if you don’t pay up!”

“Your territory? Is it now?” Luna glanced at the young men behind Emmett that were watching. “What? They’re all your bouncers?”

“Ms. Brooke, just give us the money already! Once we have the money, we can then go and have some fun somewhere else, right? Emmett!”

Emmett took a step back as all of the young men instantly stepped forward and surrounded her. “Luna Brooke, do you really think that Alexander White’s going to marry a second-hand woman?!”

Luna’s eyes scanned at each of them one by one as she cracked her fingers. “If you’re not afraid to get hurt, come and get some.”

Melody, who was outside the door, was already calling the police.

All of them had been given up by their families and they were together every day doing whatever they wanted. They were capable of doing anything.

But before the call even went through, there were screams and cries coming from inside. “D*mn it, Emmett! Why didn’t you tell us that your sister knows martial arts?!”

The painful screams echoed in the entire third floor. Melody couldn’t help but peek inside. She then saw all the men that were still so high and might just now were all on the ground in various positions.

Luna stepped on Emmett’s back and grabbed his hair, forcing him to raise his head. “Is that all you have? Hm?”

Melody stood outside the door and couldn’t believe what had just happened. “Luna…”

Since when was she so capable? How could she not know?

“It’s fine now, Melody. Come in!” Luna’s voice had clearly softened by a few notches when she was talking to Melody.

Melody walked slowly and stood next to Luna, her eyes filled with excitement. It was this man who had made her this way. Even now, she had to shuffle her feet to move. Her legs’ ligaments were almost cut too, and she would have never been able to dance if that had happened.

“Apologize!” Luna stared at Emmett. Her eyes were so cold that they could make others shudder. “Apologize to Melody!”

The glass on the floor that night was a plot set up by him and Eve.

Not only do they want to destroy her reputation completely, but they also want her to be betrayed by everyone. They want her to lose the only person who treated her well.

“Dream on!” Emmett spat as he gritted his teeth. One of his eyes was bruised, making him look like a fool. “Just you wait, Luna!”

“You won’t apologize, is it?!” As soon as she said that, a slap rang in the room. “Apologize!”

Luna slapped Emmett again and again with one hand. “Ugh!” Emmett opened his mouth and a bloodied tooth rolled on the floor.

Luna’s eyes were still cold and filled with a murderous intent so powerful that it was going to consume him whole. “Apologize, understand?”

“I… I’m sorry!” Emmett was completely stunned. The woman before her was like a demon from hell. He had lost all intentions of fighting back.

“At least you know what’s good for you,” Luna said with a cold smile and let go of him, pleased. “Melody, let’s go!”

Melody could only nod, but before they could even turn, a low voice rang from outside the door. “Oh, Ms. Brooke. You can’t simply leave after making a mess of my pool room.”

Luna’s figure froze as she slowly turned and said, “Long time no see, Rick..”
