Su Jingyu had an ominous feeling. There was something fishy about this. He felt, deep in his bones, that if he stayed there any longer, something would happen that he was unwilling to see transpire.

He and the Crown Prince were students in the same department at the Capital Advanced Academy, and both were studying the wind element. In addition, Su Jingyu had been sucking up to the Crown Prince. Thus, he was very close to the Crown Prince. It was almost as if Su Jingyu was under his direct control.

The Crown Prince leered at Su Jingyu cruelly. “Someone dares to play such an impractical joke in the Grand General’s Mansion? How brazen. Jingyu, you have to investigate it thoroughly,” he said.

Su Luo and Nangong Liuyun sat on a fork high in a tree, their arms wrapped around the branches. The tree was so wide it would have taken five people to wrap their arms around it. They were hidden in their perch by the tree’s lush leaves. They were both breathing as quietly as possible so that no one would spot them.

Suddenly, Su Luo felt a warm tingling sensation on the back of her neck. The sultry air lingered around her sensitive earlobes.

Before she could react, Nangong Liuyun said to her in a cheerful tone, “Do you want to see something more exciting?”

“Oh?” Su Luo moved her body forward to keep herself away from him. She turned back and happened to look directly into his shining eyes. They sparkled like brilliant stars.

Nangong Liuyun studied the girl’s face, only a short distance from his own.

She had bright eyes, cherry lips, and white teeth. Her skin was smooth, soft, and creamy. She didn’t have any makeup on, yet was far more stunning than the women with overly powdered faces. As delightful as spring sunshine and morning dew, she looked dazzling and full of life. Her eyes, in particular, were radiant and alluring as they looked around.

With her bright and tranquil eyes, her face looked even more aloof. A smile hung around her lips, as faint as distant clouds and serene as a wave-less sea.

A thought popped into Nangong Liuyun’s head. Wouldn’t it be interesting if he could find a way to disturb the calmness deep inside her eyes?

Abruptly, his long, strong arm caught hold of Su Luo’s body. His fair and soft fingers lifted her pointed chin. A dark shadow fell across her.

As he pulled her in, Su Luo raised her hand and placed it between their lips.

“The game isn’t over yet. What’s the rush?” Su Luo said in a low voice. She looked at him in disapproval. A barely discernible smile showed on her face.

“Winning, losing… It’s all only a state of mind.” Nangong Liuyun’s pink lips curved playfully. Other than his thick, slightly arched eyebrows, he seemed to remain completely still. Out of the blue, a scream rang out from a short distance away.

By that time, the Crown Prince and Su Jingyu had already turned around and began to leave. They had only walked a few steps when they heard the piercing scream coming from the lotus pond. Everyone stopped all at once.

Perplexed at first, Su Luo stood up high and looked far into the distance. She was baffled until she saw the blood on Su Wan’s forehead. She turned and glared at Nangong Liuyun, exasperated. Clenching her teeth, she spat her words out angrily, saying, “You cheated!”

“Were there any rules against cheating?” Nangong Liuyun asked, being shameless and unreasonable on purpose.

Su Luo rolled her eyes at Nangong Liuyun out of frustration, yet he grinned from ear to ear. His face looked lovely like a blooming flower, stunning and alluring.

Su Wan screamed instinctively after being hit by a pebble out of nowhere. She covered her bleeding forehead and almost jumped to her feet.

What a pig! A moronic pig!

Su Wan brought endless trouble to Su Xi and did nothing helpful. Su Xi was in a frenzy and itching to smack her third sister to death. She had thought her day was already bad enough as it was. Much to her surprise and aggravation, fate must have put a curse on her and had worse in store.

“Who’s there?!” Su Jingyu roared at the deserted lotus pond.

Who on earth was hiding there? The worst part was, with his skills and abilities, he hadn’t even realized someone was hiding in the lotus pond in the first place. How outrageous! Su Jingyu was raving mad!
