Rakish Prince’s Courtship - Chapter 43

“What is this?” Su Zi’an’s heart ached as he threw the Purple Fish Jade Pendant at Su Jingyu.

“The Purple Fish Jade Pendant?” Su Jingyu said.

“This is yours, right?” Su Zi’an gave a long, mirthless smile. Under his steely gaze, Su Jingyu’s legs couldn’t help but shake like leaves.

“It does belong to me, but I lost it by accident three days ago,” Su Jingyu replied.

“You lost it? Now you’re telling me you lost it?” Sneering, Su Zi’an closed in on Su Jingyu.

“Lock him up and question him thoroughly! Even if he is not the thief, he definitely has something to do with this!” Su Bowu had a vicious look in his eyes. He snatched the Purple Fish Jade Pendant away from Su Jingyu. It was still warm to the touch.

In the secluded courtyard in the Su Mansion.

Noisy and bustling, the entire Su Mansion was ablaze with lights throughout the night. A small yard was the only place that was silent and peaceful.

Nangong Liuyun had gotten rid of the guards that were chasing him and went to find Su Luo. He had a cheerful smile on his face.

He had taken off the ninja suit and put on regular clothes.

He looked like a handsome man who had stepped straight out of a painting. He had defined facial features like an ancient Greek sculpture. His expression was relaxed with a charming and rakish smile hanging on his lips.

“What do you say? I did an amazing job, didn’t I?” Leaning on a tree in the yard, Nangong Liuyun smiled as he stared at Su Luo. His slender hands rested on his arms, which were folded across his chest.

“Only passable.” Su Luo sat on a stone stool in the yard. A pot of tea was on the stone table in front of her. The steam rose from the pot, and the pleasant aroma wafted out from the tea.

Nangong Liuyun didn’t mind Su Luo’s indifferent attitude. On the contrary, he stuck his head much closer to her. His breath puffed warm against her ears. His voice was low and tantalizing as he said, “Good girl, did you get the Heavenly Spirit Water?”

“Of course. After all, how could the plan fail when I was in charge?” Su Luo had never failed a mission before. Even though things were much more difficult in ancient times, she would not be defeated.

She passed him the Heavenly Spirit Water. Her eyes were sparkling in triumph. “I thought it would be more challenging than this. So much for their so-called safeguards.”

Nangong Liuyun affectionately and gently tapped Su Luo’s forehead with his soft, slender fingers. “You’re such a bragger. Did you think it would have been so easy if I hadn’t lured the old guy away?”

“By the way, what is this map? Have you seen this before?” Su Luo asked as she shot Nangong Liuyun a disapproving looked. She then handed him the faded piece of paper with yellowed edges.

She didn’t understand the strange and twisted characters on it.

Nangong Liuyun took it and looked it over. At first, he was only skimming it casually. After reading a few lines, however, Nangong Liuyun’s pupils contracted a little.

He initially wore a roguish smile. Yet, about fifteen minutes later, his expression suddenly changed.

It was safe to assume that whatever stunned Prince Jin, His Highness couldn’t be dull.

Su Luo watched Nangong Liuyun intently, studying his expression.

She blinked her bright and beautiful eyes in curiosity. “What? Is it really a treasure map?”

“Where did you get this?” Nangong Liuyun asked. His face was rarely so solemn.

This piece of paper was definitely not something ordinary, and it was not something that just anyone could obtain effortlessly. Besides, based on what Nangong Liuyun knew, Su Luo was a concubine-born daughter of the Su family and wasn’t favored. How could she have something so valuable in her possession?

Nangong Liuyun was perplexed. He looked at Su Luo silently, waiting to hear her answer.

Su Luo was confused by Nangong Liuyun’s unexpectedly serious reaction.

What on earth was this? Why did Nangong Liuyun treat it so seriously?
