Su Ruoxi carried Little White to the front of the bamboo house. These houses had appeared after the realm had leveled up. There was one house that was used to store many refined elixirs and weapons. However, they came with many restrictions, and Su Ruoxi was unable to utilize them…

There was another house which had many books. There were books on refining elixirs, refining weapons, and training of beasts. Some were about the history of the mainlands. Naturally, these were about the history of the other mainlands and not the history of the Land of the Dancing Phoenix.

There were people living in the remaining houses. Su Ruoxi had examined them one by one before. Since she did not find anything special, she did not continue looking…

“I was referring to these two houses. I am not sure when, but they seem to have appeared out of the blue? I wanted to enter to take a look, but I was not able to open their doors after trying for a long time. Since you are here, why don’t you try to enter?” Little White said as he lay comfortably in Su Ruoxi’s arms.

“Can’t be opened? Let me try then…” Su Ruoxi walked to one door and pushed it gently.

The door creaked open…

Su Ruoxi lowered her head to look at Little White who was lying in her arms. “Little White, this is the door that can’t be opened?”

“It really couldn’t be opened before! Master, why were you able to open it?” Little White asked in bewilderment. It couldn’t believe its eyes and leaped out from Su Ruoxi’s arms. It was going into the bamboo house to take a look and find out why it wasn’t able to open the door before…

Little White’s tiny body was just about to float through the door when it rebounded with a thump…

Little White was in a daze and seeing stars. Luckily, Su Ruoxi had managed to catch it before its tiny body fell onto the ground…

“What the hell? What just happened? Did it just block me, the artifact spirit?” Little White was enraged.

It was an artifact spirit, and yet, there was something within its territory that was out of its control? What an embarrassment this was to all artifact spirits…

“It’s fine. You wait here while I take a look!” Su Ruoxi said as she caressed Little White gently. She placed Little White aside and entered…

She had only just stepped in when the door shut automatically behind her. Su Ruoxi turned her head. She was not bothered as she was in her own realm and there should not be any danger…

The interior furnishing of this bamboo house was no different from the rest. There was a plain wooden bed, a study table, a simple wardrobe, a bookshelf, and a chair…

Su Ruoxi scrutinized the room carefully. There was nothing special or different. She wondered why Little White was not able to enter this bamboo house?

Moreover, she had just witnessed Little White rebounding from the entrance earlier. It was likely that there was an invisible boundary at the door. However, she had not sensed anything when she entered just now…

Exactly what was hidden here? Su Ruoxi could not figure it out in such a short time…

Su Ruoxi circled the house once more but still did not discover anything. Just as she turned to leave, she spied an open book on the study table out of the corner of her eye…

Her curiosity was piqued, and Su Ruoxi walked over to take a look at the book. It was an ordinary medical book that was filled with basic knowledge about medicinal herbs and simple medical skills…

Su Ruoxi flipped through a few pages of the book but found nothing special. She was just about to place the book back when…

“Sss!”

Su Ruoxi was in the midst of putting down the book when suddenly, a brilliant ray of light flashed across it. Su Ruoxi felt a sharp pain in her fingertip and blood started flowing from her finger onto the book…

Then, she found herself being surrounded by a white ray of light. Immediately after that, some messages started to invade her mind. A transparent person, or to be more precise, a soul appeared in front of her…

It seemed that the soul inside the book had forcibly bound a contract with her just now…

Su Ruoxi took a look at the soul in front of her. She squinted her eyes and asked, “Tell me, why were you hiding here?”

Since this person was able to hide in a book within her realm, this person must be somehow related to the Black and White Divine Ring. Furthermore, it was not easy to nullify a contract!

She didn’t know the reason why this person had bound her to a contract. For some people, they might be elated to gain another contracted party…

However, this was not the case for Su Ruoxi! She had always felt that she should not trouble others for something she could manage on her own. Perhaps this had something to do with her being a lone assassin in her past life. She was used to keeping things to herself! It felt strange to carry the burdens of others on her shoulders…

She was willing to go all out to protect those she loved! As for those whom she did not care about, she would not bat an eye even if they were to fall dead in front of her. Also, she was annoyed that this person had associated himself with her without telling her the reason or asking for her permission…

She hated the feeling of being coerced. It did not matter whether the intention of the other party was good or bad…

Having heard Su Ruoxi’s words, the other party simply stood there in silence, gazing at her. The expression on the other party’s face was a look of shock, surprise, excitement, and disbelief…

Su Ruoxi did not interrupt the other party’s thoughts. She frowned and took out a bottle of medicine to apply to her fingertip. The wound on her finger healed almost instantly without leaving a scar. It was as though the blood flowing earlier had not come from her finger. One could tell how miraculous this medicine was…

“Master, is that really you? My master, I’ve finally found you… Master, I’ve missed you…”

After some time, the white soul finally spoke. He had a nice voice, but he was wailing and howling as he spoke.

Su Ruoxi was astounded by his wailing. “Stop, stop crying! Explain yourself!”

The rascal was obviously a man, and all this howling and crying got on her nerves…

“Sob… Master, why are you so furious with me? You didn’t talk to me in this manner before!” He did not seem to understand her words and continued wailing.

“You’re asking for it if you continue crying!” Su Ruoxi said crossly.

“Master, have… have you forgotten about me?” he asked as he blinked at Su Ruoxi.

“Should I know you?” Su Ruoxi asked in bewilderment.

“Master, I am so upset that you no longer recognize me!” He whimpered and broke into wild shrieks and howls.

Su Ruoxi could no longer tolerate his demonic howling. She decided to keep him inside the contract realm, but no matter how she tried, she was not successful…

Su Ruoxi frowned and looked at him. She was puzzled by this situation! Every contracted beast or contracted party was supposed to come with their own contract realm. Why was she unsuccessful then? It seemed that she had entered into a contract with him, and yet, he did not have his own contract realm. What in the world was happening?

“Master, I am supposed to stay by your side. I don’t have a contract realm. I used to stay in your realm, in this house! Master, you were the one who selected this house for me!” The soul seemed to be able to tell what Su Ruoxi was thinking.
