Planet Builder - Chapter 2

Translator: virtual group Editor: virtual group

He Xingzhou took some time to completely digest the Quantum Processor’s words and replied, “If everything is according to what you just said, it’ll be close to impossible to accomplish so many things in such a short amount of time!”

“With my abilities, I’m afraid the Solar System will be destroyed already by the time I can enter space and build the Dyson Sphere.”

“Well, you’ve have to think of a way yourself. This can be considered a test of your ability.” The Quantum Processor replied.

This put He Xingzhou in a difficult position. Even if he had a few decades and everything goes smoothly, the best that he could do was start an international technology company with minimal accomplishments. But to build a Dyson sphere and planetary destruction cannon? It wouldn’t be enough even if he lead ten companies! He basically had no time at all!

If I really want to accomplish these things…perhaps the only way that I can do so is to utilize the resources of the country. Only by partnering with the country would something like this be possible! He Xingzhou thought.

Should I report this matter to the country? Only by gathering the resources of the whole country would weapon development, defense construction, and space exploration be possible.

It seems like this was the fastest way to to achieve these goals in the shortest time possible.

However, with this, another issue was raised for He Xingzhou. How was he going to make the people of the whole country believe his words?

He would be treated like a clown if he were to speak up and directly told the people of his country that the end of the world is upon them and that Earth will be swallowed up by the Zerg race.

He was a poor student with no power or influence. No one would believe him no matter what he said.

The Quantum Processor chimed in and suggested, “Master, you can run experiments to send the results as a warning to the people of your country. As long as you find a mutated creature that carries the Zerg gene and stimulate it with nuclear energy, you will be able to activate the Zerg genes within them faster and allow them to transform into a real Zerg.

“When that time comes, there should be some people who will believe you.” the Quantum Processor continued.

“Finding mutated creatures shouldn’t be too hard. There are people selling them on the Internet.” He Xingzhou was had searched for them before. There were fishermen selling the mutated fish they caught on the internet.

“What about nuclear energy? Where can I find nuclear energy? Moreover, I have to use it for experiments!”

The Quantum Processor did not give a reply. He Xingzhou thought for a while and an idea popped up in his mind. He asked, “Quantum Processor, can we create a miniature nuclear fission to achieve this goal?”

This time, the Quantum Processor replied, “Yes, the Zerg genes only need to be stimulated by nuclear energy. There is no need for continuous nuclear energy infusion. A miniature nuclear fission will bring forth results.”

He Xingzhou immediately became excited. He said, “I know! I can build a small nuclear reactor to stimulate the mutated creatures and highlight the characteristics of the Zerg. Then, I can report it to the country and ask for help from the country!”

He Xingzhou was a physics student, so he had a general understanding in building a nuclear reactor.

Of course, he was not going to build a super complicated nuclear reactor that could be used for commercial power generation. Instead, he was looking to build an experimental miniature nuclear reactor to generate a small nuclear fission.

The Quantum Processor immediately showed him the information about nuclear technology on the technology tree, including the information about the miniature nuclear reactor.

He Xingzhou had already learned some of the basic concepts from his textbooks, but the information on the technology tree was way more comprehensive.

It also showed the conditions for unlocking. [One unit of energy is required.]

“How much is one unit of energy?” He Xingzhou asked.

“About the amount it takes to power a modern factory for 24 hours.” The quantum computer said.

He Xingzhou was speechless. How could he get so much energy? Even if he spent all of his money, it would not be enough.

“My main body still has three units of energy. I can unlock this branch for you. As for the rest, you’ll have to find some way to unlock them yourself. ” said the Quantum Processor.

“Now that’s what I’m talking about. There should be a newbie package like this!” He Xingzhou’s brows relaxed. In order to verify the ability of the Quantum Processor, he chose to immediately unlock the the “Miniature Nuclear Reactor” branch on the technology tree.

A stream of information flowed into He Xingzhou’s brain. He had started to memorize and absorb knowledge in regards to miniature nuclear technology.

He Xingzhou felt as if he was having an epiphany. He Xingzhou completely grasped the knowledge of the mini nuclear reactor. An indescribable feeling of confidence aroused in his heart. He felt that as long as he was given the materials, he would be able to make a nuclear reactor!

“Alright! Let’s start with the nuclear reactor!” He Xingzhou had his mind set on building this nuclear reactor. In addition, he also wanted to verify the knowledge given to him by the Quantum Processor.

Compared to an apocalyptic world, He Xingzhou would much rather live in an era of peace. For this, he was willing to take action.

He Xingzhou began to think about his next steps. According to the regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency and the National Nuclear Safety Administration, if one wanted to conduct nuclear energy-related experiments, one had send an application to the nuclear safety administration first.

This was a bit difficult. But fortunately, the University of Science and technology was well regarded university in the country. It had its own nuclear physics research laboratory.

If he could get the lab teacher’s signature and confirm that his experiment was harmless, he should be able to get an approval.

This would require him to make a detailed plan about his experiment.

In addition, he had to find the right materials and an appropriate test site for his experiment. He Xingzhou opted to request the materials and lab in his application and prepared to write the plans for experiment. Just as he was about to start writing, his three roommates returned from the study room.

“There’s a very beautiful girl in the self-study room today. Her legs really slender and fine! I regret not asking for her WeChat!” The first one to enter was Zhang Yang, a tall and thin looking student,.

“Come on, you wouldn’t dare to do it even if you had another chance.” The second roommate, Wang Jiahao, who was wearing glasses, walked in.

“Alright alright. We have our internships coming up. You guys should think about how to find an internship first! “The last roommate, Feng Tao, said.

The three of them were physics students just like He Xingzhou.

“What internship? I plan to take the postgraduate entrance exam.” said Zhang Yang.

“Me too. It’s hard for college students to find a job now. It’s better to take the postgraduate entrance exam!” Wang Jiahao agreed.

“Damn, you guys are taking the postgraduate entrance exam? You got me nervous for a second there.” Feng Tao was a little hesitant. “But I think it might be better to work earlier.”

The three of them chatted for a while and found He Xingzhou silently typing away on the computer.

“Old He, what are you writing?” Wang Jiahao came over to take a look and saw the title of the experiment plan.

<>? When Wang Jiahao saw this, he was stunned. An incredulous expression then appeared on his face.

He asked in surprise, “You’re going to build a nuclear reactor?”

“What?” Zhang Yang and Feng Tao came over together. When they saw the title of the paper, they couldn’t help but curse, “F*ck, what are you writing?”

He Xingzhou didn’t stop typing. He explained, “I’m going to build a miniature nuclear reactor myself, so I’m writing an application for the materials and approval.”

The three roommates’ eyes widened at the same time. Wang Jiahao twisted his ears exaggeratedly and shouted, “Did I hear wrong? You want to build a nuclear reactor? Stop joking around alright?”

“Yeah, is that even something we can make?” Zhang Yang followed up.

“Bro. Really bro?! I just came back from the self-study room and my roommate actually announced that he wants to build a nuclear reactor!” Feng Tao said, “Did I F*cking walk into to the wrong dorm?”

“It doesn’t matter what dorm you walked into” Wang Jiahao said, “If you can find another student in any dorm that proclaims that they want to build a nuclear reactor, I’ll call you daddy right here, right now!”

“Definitely impossible.” Feng Tao nodded.

He Xingzhou kept typing away. His roommates were still ridiculing him, but when they saw his serious expression, they were puzzled. “Old He, you can’t be serious, right?”

“I am dead serious.” He Xingzhou said. “I plan to use this as my graduation project. If the experiment is goes well, I can use this as my graduating thesis.”

“AH? You were actually serious?” The three of them looked at each other in disbelief.

Even if it was a miniature one, it was still a nuclear reactor!

The three of them stood to the side and watched for a while.

“It seems like he really is writing about a nuclear reactor!” Wang Jiahao said in surprise

“What the f*ck, I actually can’t understand any of this!” Feng Tao complained, “Is the gap between me and the top students already so wide?”

“Regardless of whether this experiment can be done or not, this application is actually quite good,” Zhang Yang commented.

“Guys, go and do what you usually do.”He Xingzhou said, “I can’t focus on writing with you guys hovering around me.”

“Okay, okay, okay!” Wang Jiahao laughed. “Boss, you continue to research nuclear reactors. I’m going to Summoner’s Rift!”

“I’m going to chat with my girlfriend.”

“I’m going to catch up on my sleep.” The three of them went about their own business. However, they would glance at He Xingzhou from time to time. Seeing that he was indeed very serious, they continued to be in the state of disbelief.

They were even discussing this matter in their professional chat group:

Wang Jiahao: [Photo attached] *shocked* “I’m starting to doubt my existence. I’m in my dorm. I just got off my bike when I suddenly found that my roommate wants to build a nuclear reactor.”

Zhou Xiaoqin: “Isn’t that He Xingzhou? Are you kidding? He’s building a nuclear reactor? Are you guys talking about a game?”

Feng Tao: “It’s not a game, it’s real! I saw with my own eyes that He Xingzhou was writing a material request application and report!”

Zhang Yang: “Right, right, right. We asked him just now, and he even said that he wanted to use this as his graduation project. That shook me!”

Zhou Xiaoqin: “Really? Why would he think of building a nuclear reactor? ! Even if we are physics students, it doesn’t mean that we have the ability to build a nuclear reactor to prove ourselves!”

Li Wei: “? ? ? Did He Xingzhou receive some kind of stimulation?”

Ma Zhengming: “666! He actually wants to build a nuclear reactor. His courage is commendable. But I’ll have to say, he’s wasting his time. Even if he knows the principle and concepts of nuclear fission, building and applying the concepts are a completely different thing.”

“Yeah, Is it possible that he saw some physics bigshot in America making a nuclear reactor when they were young and want to imitate it?” In the professional chat group, the students began to discuss.

“Is that something that can be imitated? Those are some of the most awesome and talented people in the world!”

“No matter what, his idea is very bold. As students, we shouldn’t laugh at him — of course, I also think it’s unlikely to be done.”

The students discussed animatedly. The students were already bored at school, so anything newsworthy spread very quickly. As for He Xingzhou, he was concentrated on writing the report and material request application, so he did not pay attention to these things.

The next day, before the atomic physics class, He Xingzhou came to the classroom ten minutes early.

As soon as he walked into the classroom today, he realized something was wrong. Somebody had shouted “He Xingzhou is here.” All the students in the large classroom turned their heads in unison and looked at He Xingzhou.

“?” He Xingzhou had a puzzled look on his face. What was going on? Was there something on his face? Or was he wearing his clothes inside out?
