As Dr. Andric pressed the remote control, the image on the wall changed to reveal a creature that looked overall like a pure human with pale skin and blood-red eyes.
“We used a combination of vampire blood genetic fragments and the Progenitor Virus to create Z-Virus 1. When it was injected into a normal human, it did not cause widespread tissue necrosis or proliferation, like the T-Virus did, and it maintained an overall human appearance.
“We took his blood and found that he had the same blood components as vampires but did not have a vampire’s weakness and thus did not fear sunlight and silver.

The doctor pressed the remote again and the image changed to a video.
The video showed a skinny woman shackled in a cave and weeping with her head down.
When a bleeding human Awakener was brought before her, she suddenly went berserk. The veins beneath her skin abruptly popped out like black earthworms, and her eyes turned black.
With a sudden lunge, she broke the thumb-thick chains on her wrists and ankles.
The human Awakener was at least above Level 15. Although he was slightly injured, his strength wasn’t affected too much.

However, this relatively mild virus was prone to the last outcome… Due to incomplete mutation, the fragile body could not match the powerful blood.
What was the difference between this Z-Virus and the bloodline potion made by the Covenant using the blood or corpses of magical creatures?
The former focused on blood. Mutation and evolution were basically limited to blood, while abilities were only related to blood.
Bloodline potions, on the other hand, were related to the bloodline. Once they were used, no one could predict what kind of changes would occur.
Different people would have a drastically different outcome even when using the same bloodline potion.
