My Lovely Wife is a Forensic Doctor - Chapter 26

After she walked downstairs, the maid, Li Xianglan, led Mu Yu to the living room.

For now, Qin Xiaozhi wasn’t in the living room. The only ones there were the family of Qin Wentao and Dong Wanqing.

Mu Yu had never seen Qin Wentao’s family, so she didn’t know them. However, since they were casually sitting in the living room of the Qin manor, on top of being close to Dong Wanqing, she guessed that they must be close to the Qin family.

Dong Yueyun cleared her throat, casted a sidelong glance, and asked, “You are the woman that Huan brought back home?”

Her attitude made Mu Yu very uncomfortable, but she responded politely anyway, “Yes.”

“You have registered your marriage with a certificate?”

“Yes.”

Qing Chengxi, who was sitting alone on the small sofa, brightened at her words. He immediately straightened up and smiled at Mu Yu.

Mu Yu noticed him and returned a smile. But then, Qin Chengxi lowered his head like a wilted flower. She was a little shocked and glanced sideways, realizing Dong Yueyun was giving Qin Chengxi a hard stare as a warning against her. She smiled disapprovingly and ignored Dong Yueyun’s interrogation. Dong Yueyun was asking questions like, “How did you and Huan meet?”.

However, Mu Yu turned on her heels and walked away after answering her, “Go and ask my husband!”

“Hey! What’s with your attitude?” Dong Wanqing stood up and quickly stopped her. Pointing at Dong Yueyun, she asked Mu Yu with a high and mighty tone, “Do you know who she is to Huan?”

“I don’t want to know.” Mu Yu restrained herself from the urge to slap her and flung her hand away.

Dong Wanqing didn’t want to let her go. Instead, she proudly introduced, “This is your mother-in-law! That is your father-in-law! You don’t even recognize your parents-in-law and yet you have the cheek to say that you’re the young mistress of the Qin family?”

Parents-in-law?

Mu Yu was shocked. She instinctively said, “His parents died a long time ago. How would I have parents-in-law?”

“What nonsense are you talking about?” Dong Yueyun’s expression turned sour, before turning an upset look at Qin Wentao.

“You! How dare you curse my aunt and uncle with an early death?! You are too vicious!” Dong Wanqing quickly exclaimed in an exaggerated manner. Gloat filled her eyes.

Aunt and uncle?

Before Mu Yu had the time to figure their relationship out, Qin Wentao was already yelling into her ears, “The Qin family does not have room for a vicious daughter-in-law like you! Leave the house immediately!”

“You ill-mannered brat! Get lost!” Dong Wanqing quickly agreed.

“Dad, sister, don’t kick sister-in-law out. You can’t blame her. She doesn’t know anything.” Qin Chengxi stopped them timidly.

Dong Yueyun pulled her son aside and scolded in a low tone, “What kind of sister-in-law is she? If you dare bring up the words ‘sister-in-law’, I’ll tear your mouth down! Go and sit at one side!”

Qin Chengxi glanced helplessly at Mu Yu. Then, he lowered his head, went to one side and dared not speak another word.

While she looked at Qin Chengxi and Dong Yueyun, she remembered the things Qin Jinhuan told her about his parents last night. Mu Yu already guessed the identities of these three people and instantly had no good feelings toward them. Seeing that Qin Wentao was still yelling for her to get lost, she purposely straightened her back and responded coldly, “Qin Jinhuan and I are a lawfully wedded couple. Since this is his home, therefore it is also mine, and nobody has the right to kick me out.”

Of course, these were merely the words she spoke. In her heart, she thought, Hurry up and kick me out! Quickly! Do it now!

The fact that Qin Xiaozhi and Dong Wanqing were already causing her headache—in addition to these two—made her feel like she was going to be skinned alive sooner or later.

Qin Wentao sneered. “Your home? You think too highly of yourself!”

“That’s right.” Dong Wanqing also sneered. “Do you think that we don’t know you are Huan’s temporary woman meant only to fool Grandfather? Do you think that just because you’ve slept on Huan’s bed, that you’re really the mistress of the Qin family? You sounded so horny last night! Don’t you know that Huan regards you as a hooker?”

Her explicit words made Qin Chengxi blush and quickly looked away. At the same time, Mu Yu also blushed, but she couldn’t find a good comeback at the time. So she could only say, “You aren’t Huan, how do you know he’s not sincere toward me?”

“If he’s sincere toward you, he will definitely be gentle with you.” Dong Wanqing paused as she approached Mu Yu. She lowered her tone and mocked, “You’re limping while you walk. Isn’t this the result of the merciless action last night? Hehe, in order to become the mistress of the Qin family, you’ve really put out. However, aren’t you afraid that he’ll play you till death in bed?”

Seeing that Dong Wanqing was smiling so hard that her foundation was about to fall off her face, Mu Yu felt extremely disgusted. After a moment of thought, she mimicked Dong Wanqing’s moves, leaned toward her, and whispered into her ears, “Huan isn’t willing to play so hard with every woman. For example, you, Miss Dong. Haha, even if you apply more foundation, Huan will never give you the opportunity to sleep on his bed.”

What she said was meant to disgust Dong Wanqing. But to tell the truth, Mu Yu was also disgusted. She didn’t expect Dong Wanqing—who looked quite educated—to say something so dirty. She was only letting her have a taste of her own medicine.

Sure enough, Dong Wanqing looked like she had eaten a headless fly. Her face turned extremely sour and she angrily raised her hand to slap Mu Yu.

Mu Yu had already suffered from her once before. This time, she was well prepared. She grabbed Dong Wanqing’s arm in a flash, tightened her grip, and flung her onto the sofa.

Mu Yu’s physical fitness wasn’t very good, but it was more than enough to deal with this heiress who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. However, she still had a little regret that she didn’t let Yihan teach her more moves.

“Ouch! Aunty, it hurts!” Dong Wanqing screamed exaggeratedly as she lay on the sofa.

“You’re too brutal! Wentao, if we let this woman become your daughter-in-law, where would Xi’s standing in this family be next time? Can we still live a good life?” Dong Yueyun hugged her niece in distress as she spoke to Qin Wentao.

Qin Wentao was obviously annoyed as he ordered Qi Hao and Qi Han, “Why are you still standing there? Why haven’t you kicked this woman out yet?”

Seeing that they hadn’t moved an inch, he immediately turned around and scolded, “This is what the Old Master wants, so why haven’t you got started yet?”

When Mu Yu saw that they were really going to act, she wasn’t afraid at all and did nothing too. She remained standing there, waiting for them to drag her out. However, before Qi Hao and Qi Han stepped forward, Qin Xiaozhi’s angry voice bellowed behind her, “Are you all done?”

Dong Wanqing was the first to rush toward Qin Xiaozhi. She folded up her sleeves and showed him her reddish arm. Then, she said in a pitiful voice, “Grandpa, she bullied me.”

“What is going on?” Qin Xiaozhi looked at Mu Yu with a serious and hard stare.

Qin Xiaozhi came from the study room on the first floor, and Mu Yu knew he had witnessed what just happened. Seeing the way he rebuked her, she understood that they were all on the same side. Mu Yu responded rudely, “It’s exactly what you just saw.”

Dong Wanqing quickly hugged Qin Xiaozhi and said, “Hey, you were already rude to Uncle. How dare you disrespect Grandpa now?”

“Have any of you respected me?”

Qin Xiaozhi’s face darkened and he yelled, “Do you really think that I have to worship that head of yours?”

“Yes! You’re ridiculous!” Dong Wanqing glanced proudly at Mu Yu.

“I also don’t know how Huan chooses his wife. It’s like he deliberately finds someone to make the Old Master angry.” Dong Yueyun muttered in a tone of moderate volume, but her instigations were obvious.

“Leave if you don’t like it. No one asked you all to stay here.” Mu Yu snorted disapprovingly.

“Hey, don’t be too arrogant!” Dong Wanqing shouted angrily. “Don’t think that because you have Huan to protect you, you can be so ill-mannered! They are Huan’s elders! There’s no place for you to act like the tyrant here!”

Mu Yu talked back and mocked, “You are an outsider. You do not have the right to chatter in front of me.”

Her words had poked Dong Wanqing’s sore spot and she was immediately lost for words. Her aunt exchanged a glance with her. She quickly pouted and looked at Qin Xiaozhi.

Qin Xiaozhi gently patted her hand to appease her. Then, he looked at Dong Yueyun and asked, “If the younger ones talk rudely to the elders, how should we punish them according to the house rules of the Qin family?”

Dong Yueyun instantly responded with a thrill, “To punish lightly, one has to face the wall and think about their wrongdoings; to punish severely, one has to be slapped on the mouth.”

“Then, why are you—as a mother-in-law—just standing there? Aren’t you going to teach your daughter-in-law?”

“Yes, Old Master.” Dong Yueyun rolled up her sleeves and stepped forward.

Mu Yu was shocked at this. She turned around and wanted to run. Initially, her intention was to drive them crazy enough to kick her out, but she didn’t expect to be beaten again. However, once she tried to move, Qi Hao and Qi Han both restrained her so that there was no way for her to move.

“Remember this!” Dong Yueyun grinned evilly and raised her hand.

“Stop it!”

Dong Yueyun didn’t think that Qin Jinhuan would suddenly appear at this moment. Although she had Qin Xiaozhi to support her, she panicked a bit and timidly explained, “She talked back to Grandpa and has broken the house rules of the Qin family.”

“Go away!”

Qin Xiaozhi bellowed, “Huan! How dare you speak to your mother like that?”

“My mother became a pile of white bones a long time ago!” Qin Jinhuan pulled Mu Yu toward himself.

Thinking that his son had said that he was long dead, Qin Wentao pushed his wife behind him and yelled at Qin Jinhuan, “Qin Jinhuan, you listen to me! It’s a fact that I’m your father. It’s also a fact that Yueyun is my wife. Whether you admit it or not, she is your elder.”

“Kick them out.”

“How dare you?”

Qin Jinhuan sneered. “Have you forgotten whose house this is?”

Qin Wentao’s imposing manner diminished and he glanced with resentment at his father.

Ever since Qin Jinhuan became an adult, Qin Xiaozhi had given the ownership of this manor to him.

“Take Xi back home.”

After hearing his father’s words, Qin Wentao was very annoyed. However, he had no choice but to take Dong Yueyun and Qin Chengxi and leave.

Dong Wanqing hesitated for a while and prepared to follow them, but was called out to by Qin Xiaozhi. “Wanqing, you stay here.”

“Yes, Grandpa.” Dong Wanqing immediately turned around happily and lent her arm to support Qin Xiaozhi again.

“Mu Yu, sit down. I have something to say to you.”

Qin Jinhuan ignored his grandpa’s words and asked Mu Yu gently, “Have you eaten your breakfast?”

Mu Yu shook her head as she glanced at Qin Xiaozhi. She had no idea what he wanted to talk to her about.

“Let’s go and have breakfast.” Qin Jinhuan pulled her toward the dining room.

“Huan! Stay there! Huan!”

Mu Yu couldn’t help but remind him in a low tone, “Your grandpa is calling you.”

“I am not deaf.”

“Then you…”

“I cannot let you go hungry.”

Qin Jinhuan’s words were very gentle, but that didn’t lessen the frustration in Mu Yu’s heart.

“You’re very disappointed, aren’t you?”

When she heard Qin Jinhuan phrase it like this, Mu Yu—who had just sat down—hurriedly responded, “Yeah, you didn’t make it clear last night, so I thought your parents were really dead. Your family dynamics are quite complicated.”

Of course, she had no interest in this.

“You know that this is not what I’m referring to.”

Oops, did he see through me?

Mu Yu played dumb and asked, “What are you talking about?”

Qin Jinhuan leaned toward her and said in a cold tone, “You thought that if they kicked you out of the house, then you can cut all ties with me? Don’t joke with the wellbeing of your parents’ old age.”

“I…I…I didn’t think of this. It was them. They were too aggressive.” Mu Yu felt very guilty and depressed at the same time.

“If they come here again in the future, don’t bother with them.”

“Isn’t it rude to ignore them? They are your biological father and stepmother after all.”

“They don’t deserve it.” Qin Jinhuan’s face turned cold.

Mu Yu was shocked by his facial expression and quickly asked, “I’ll ignore them in the future, but what about your grandpa and Dong Wanqing?”

“They…”

“Grandpa! Grandpa! What’s the matter with you? Don’t scare me!” Qin Jinhuan’s voice was drowned by Dong Wanqing’s panic cries.
