The woman had curves in all the right places, especially some places that shook as she walked. Moreover, she wore a gown with a plunging neckline that was enough to make Mu Yu gulp, let alone men.
By the looks of it, this woman was an acquaintance of the wily old fox. She wanted to loosen her grip on Qin Jinhuan’s arm, but a painful pinch stopped her. She glanced down and saw that the wily old fox had his hand over the back of her hand. He was obviously the culprit behind the pinch. She glared at him in anger, but a gentle look glazed his eyes, and she felt a stab in her heart.
His gaze was too lethal.

Mu Yu’s heartbeat quickened when the woman with the plunging neckline pointed at her and asked, “Who is this?”
“My girlfriend.”
Am I not only his date? When did I become his girlfriend?
Mu Yu was very surprised. However, the woman with the plunging neckline was beyond shocked, and her chest shook even more violently.
“Jinhuan, when did you get a girlfriend?”
Qin Jinhuan glanced coldly at her. “Am I required to report to you?”
“No, no, I’m just really surprised.” The woman gave an awkward laugh. She asked reluctantly, “Which family is she from?”
“You will know when the time comes.” Then, Qin Jinhuan ignored the woman with the plunging neckline. He pulled Mu Yu to a corner and whispered into her ears, “I have somewhere to go. Stay here and wait for me.”
Mu Yu nodded her head vigorously. She couldn’t wait for him to leave, because she was ravenous and the table next to her was filled with delicious pastries.
After he left, she looked around and figured that nobody was paying attention at her. Just as she was about to reach out, the woman with the plunging neckline smiled and walked toward her. She quickly retracted her hand.
“Hello, I am Huan’s cousin, Dong Wanqing. How do I address you?”
“Mu Yu.”
So this woman was the wily old fox’s cousin!
No wonder the wily old fox did not warm up to this woman. After all, society forbade close relatives from getting married.
Mu Yu felt pity for this cousin.
“Miss Mu, I really admire you.” Dong Wanqing gave Mu Yu a once over and scorned. “If it were me, I wouldn’t dare show up to a party as classy as this one without any makeup on.”
Dong Wanqing’s blatant sarcasm embarrassed Mu Yu and erased all the sympathy she had for her. When Mu Yu saw Qin Jinhuan walking toward her, she raised her eyebrows and said loudly in a fake, sugary voice, “Actually I don’t understand it either. Um, why would Huan prefer a country pumpkin like me over someone as beautiful and stylish as you? But Huan said that I am his true love, and I’m not allowed to leave him.”
“Was Huan drunk when he said this?” Dong Wanqing scoffed.
“Huan.” Dong Wanqing spotted Qin Jinhuan in her peripheral and panicked as she turned around. Mu Yu exchanged glances with Qin Jinhuan and faked a sad voice, as if she were wronged. “Another person just said you and I aren’t meant for each other. We might as well break up.”
Despite her poor acting skills, he did want her to put on an act. Therefore, he couldn’t blame her for thinking on her feet.
If he dared ruin her facade even just a little, she would immediately turn on her heels and leave. Worst case scenario was that the five summon cards would remain.
Qin Jinhuan saw through Mu Yu’s act and snickered. Looking at Dong Wanqing, he said in a serious tone, “Don’t break up with me, please. You are my woman, and you are perfect for me.”
Mu Yu looked helpless as she turned to Dong Wanqing and shrugged. “Look at him. I really have no choice.”
Qin Jinhuan pretended not to see through Mu Yu’s little act. He went up to her, hugged her around the waist, and spoke sweetly, “My dear, don’t ever mention breaking up again, okay?”
Dong Wanqing’s face paled.
Mu Yu could hear the threat in Qin Jinhuan’s words. Annoyed, she wanted to push him away, but he tightened his grip and whispered, his lips touching her ears, “If you don’t play along, I’m afraid I have no choice but to kiss you.”
Mu Yu was taken aback. Then, she pulled away and put her arm around his waist, pouted, and said in a coquettish manner, “Then tell me, do you love me?”
“I do. All my love is for you for the rest of my life, you silly.” Qin Jinhuan looked at her affectionately. Cupping her face, he pecked her lips.
Oh my God! My first kiss! That wily old fox!
Mu Yu jumped, but Qin Jinhuan locked her tightly in his arms.

To her surprise, she opened the door to reveal the wily old fox with his arms folded across his chest. He was squinting at her with a look on his face.
An alarm went off in her heart. Mu Yu pushed him away so she could leave, but he pulled her back into his arms.
