Tan Xue concluded with one statement, “In any case, this is a chance as well as a challenge. You can take some time to think about it carefully.”
Qin Nuan took a moment to consider this offer for a while, then suddenly asked, “Sister Tan, could I ask you something? How did this variety program suddenly land on me?”
“It’s quite a coincidence, actually. The company actually gave this job to Fang Shiying from the female idol group T-SIX, but apparently, she had a terrible fever recently and even developed pneumonia. Filming for this program starts next week, but she can’t go for it anymore. Since the company needed someone else to go, you were the next best choice,” replied Tan Xue.

Qin Nuan smiled. That hypocritical woman had gone through so much trouble to give her a job, so how could she not accept it?
Tan Xue was rather surprised when she heard that Qin Nuan was willing to go for this variety program, so she warned her, “Are you really sure? This program will make you go through a lot of hardships, and you can’t back out halfway.”
“Sister Tan, don’t worry about that! I’m really sure about it,” replied Qin Nuan.
She grew up living in an orphanage with no money, no power, and no resources, but she still managed to get into the best university in the country and got the Best Newcomer award. What hardship had she not gone through over the past 20 years?

Once everything was settled, Li Jing drew up a schedule for her. Qin Nuan saw that she had to start the magazine shoots the next day, then start filming for the variety show immediately after that. Her schedule was very packed for quite a while to come, so she decided that she wanted to meet with her family before leaving City A.
She walked out of the office and gave Qin Shi a call.
The minute the call got through, Qin Shi’s overly passionate voice could be heard.
“My dearest sister, why are you calling me? Do you miss your brother too much? Girls indeed do mature when they get married, and you’ve actually started to miss me! I’m so touched! How have you been lately? Did anybody bully you? If you’ve been bullied, I’ll help you thrash that fellow!”
Qin Nuan’s heartfelt warm and fuzzy when she heard the flurry of words from Qin Shi.
It was really, really nice to have family members who were concerned. This was something she had never experienced before.
When Qin Shi didn’t hear Qin Nuan’s reply, he started asking anxiously, “Xiaonuan, why aren’t you saying anything? Has something happened to you?”
Qin Nuan laughed a little helplessly. “Brother, you’ve asked so many questions at one shot. I don’t even know which one to answer first.”
Then she quickly went on to ask, “Are you going home to eat tonight? Can I tag along? I want to eat at home.”
“Sure! Where are you now? I’ll go over and pick you up.”
I’m at the entrance to the café that’s next to Warm Hues Media Entertainment.”
“Go in and buy a latte to quench your thirst. I’ll be there in 15 minutes.”
After hanging up, Qin Shi turned to instruct his secretary, “Postpone tonight’s dinner.”
“But tonight’s dinner is with the city mayor…”
Before the secretary could finish speaking, he felt Qin Shi’s darkened expression and quickly shut his mouth.

Qin Nuan bought an Americano and a hot latte from the café. This was going to be the first time she met her parents, so she went to the fruit stall next door to buy a basket of fruits. Qin Shi arrived just after the fruits were packed and ready to go.
When she passed the coffee to Qin Shi, Qin Shi took it carefully from her hands and looked so touched. “My dear sister, you’re such a wonderful person. I love drinking Americano the most.”
Qin Nuan smiled and didn’t say anything.
Thankfully she had the complete set of memories from the previous owner of this body, so she knew all the likes and dislikes of everyone in the Qin family.
The Qin family’s bungalow wasn’t far from the city, but they got stuck in the evening peak hour traffic, and it took them 30 minutes to drive home.
Qin Shi had called their parents in advance, so when Qin Nuan got out of the car, she immediately saw her parents waiting at the bungalow entrance.
She carried the basket of fruits as she alighted from the car and suddenly felt a little nervous inside as she looked at her parents standing not far from her.
She was afraid that they could tell that she was a different person, and she was even more afraid that she wouldn’t be able to become the daughter of their dreams.
Just as she was thinking about these things, Mr. Qin and Mrs. Qin came walking over hand in hand. “Xiaonuan, you’re back!”
After that, Mrs. Qin looked behind Qin Nuan as if she wanted to see if anybody else had come along. When she saw that there was nobody behind Qin Nuan, she let out a quiet sigh.
