Qin Nuan quickly sorted out all the memories she had inherited from the original owner of this body. Then she touched her waist, looked back at herself in a white dress in the mirror, and breathed a sigh of relief.

She was glad that she had transmigrated early in the book. Her kidneys and other vital organs were still around.

And thankfully, according to the book, Li Lingcheng didn’t come home the night before after the wedding, so she was still a virgin too.

She had transmigrated into a book and had no idea how to get back to where she came from. Qin Nuan decided that she shall be the female lead of this book, but she would rewrite her fate from now on.

Qin Nuan looked at the white dress she was wearing and utterly despised it.

In the book, Qin Nuan wanted to gain Li Lingcheng’s favor, so she tried to dress up like Bai Weiwei. She always wore white-colored clothes and even applied her makeup to make herself look as pitiful as Bai Weiwei did.

But her features were large and pretty, so this sort of look didn’t suit her at all. It only served to hide her exquisite features.

So Qin Nuan turned and looked at the maids behind her. “Get me a red dress.”

The older maid in charge of the rest was called Auntie Zhang. She looked at Qin Nuan with an annoyed expression.

Her Young Master didn’t like Miss Qin at all, so even though she had married into the Li family, it was only in name, and she wasn’t worthy of being called Young Madam.

“Miss Qin, it’s already ten o’clock, so don’t delay any further. Otherwise, Old Mr. Li will become unhappy.”

“So you know that Old Mr. Li will become unhappy, huh? It’s the first day after my wedding, and you want me to bring tea to Old Mr. Li in a white dress? Those who didn’t know better might have thought I’m attending a funeral! Are you trying to make Old Mr. Li unhappy? Tell me, if Old Mr. Li finds out that you were the one who insisted that I wear something like this…”

Qin Nuan looked up at Auntie Zhang and stared coldly at her.

Based on these maids’ attitudes, she realized that Qin Nuan’s life in the Li house must have been miserable.

She was the Young Mistress of the Qin family, but a maid had so little regard for her.

Auntie Zhang was struck speechless by Qin Nuan’s words. She secretly glanced at Qin Nuan and was shocked by the iciness of her gaze. Her heart skipped a beat in fright, and she quickly ran back into the closet to look for another dress.

As she ran off, she started wondering why this Miss Qin seemed like a completely different person.

Was she too agitated after spending her first night of marriage alone?

Auntie Zhang’s heart was filled with disdain again when she thought about it this way.

After waiting for a while, Qin Nuan saw Auntie Zhang shuffle back hesitantly with a red evening gown.

“Miss Qin, your entire wardrobe only has white-colored clothes. Only the dress you wore for the wedding banquet last night is red.”

Her entire wardrobe was filled with white clothes!

Qin Nuan took a deep breath. To imitate Bai Weiwei, this Miss Qin had really been hard on herself.

She changed into the long red dress and picked the brightest red lipstick for her lips. She looked at her pearly whites against her bright red lips and her lovely face. Her lips curled upward into a pleased smile.

She threw the maid an instruction, “Within one day, I want all the white clothes in my wardrobe thrown away. Get me new clothes with all sorts of colors and patterns and prints.”

Then she picked up her skirt and stood up.

Auntie Zhang scoffed after hearing these words and wanted to argue back. But Qin Nuan looked at her, and Auntie Zhang quickly shut her mouth up again.

“Why, you mean the rich and powerful Li family can’t even afford to buy a dress or two?”

“Of…of course they can afford it,” replied Auntie Zhang.

The Li family was so rich and powerful that hearing their name alone sent shudders down the spines of everyone in City A. If others found out that this same family couldn’t afford to buy clothes, they would become a laughingstock.

Qin Nuan nodded satisfactorily and went downstairs with the maids.

The old Li manor stood on the west side of City A, and the scenery outside the manor was breathtaking. It overlooked dense forests and blue rivers. The European-style house stood against a mountain and resembled a small castle. It was both luxurious and majestic.

Qin Nuan stayed in a small two-story bungalow, while Old Mr. Li lived in the main bungalow, a distance away. She followed the small blue-tiled pavement and walked at a leisurely pace, admiring the scenery along the way and allowing her thoughts to run.

She had lost both her parents at a very young age and was sent to an orphanage. She had relied on social support and her own savings from working to study and had gone into the best university in the country with the best results in the entire province.
