My Left Eye Can See Ghosts - Chapter 44

I looked back. The abyss-like darkness made me frantically crawl back to the center of the rooftop. I saw that the silver light made its way into the hands of a dark figure in the corner.

I looked at the dark figure. It was tall and straight. It seemed to be… elder brother?

I had a thrill in my heart. But just as I was about to get up and run towards him, the back of my collar was violently pulled back. My throat was constricted again. My body was somehow completely restrained and I couldn’t move even one step forward.

“You’re not getting away with this!”

Xu Zixi screamed.

Shang Yi finally stood up straight at the moment. He bent over and picked up the can of black dog’s blood. He unscrewed the bottle cap, wanting to pour it over Xu Zixi and me.

“Wait.”

A cold voice sounded. It was from the figure in the darkness.

Shang Yi stopped and looked in the direction of where the figure was standing.

I could recognize the voice of the dark figure. Who else could it be if it was not elder brother?

I was overjoyed. I took a step forward, but Xu Zixi dragged me back. I collapsed onto the floor after I staggered several times trying to struggle against her grip.

Ming Si walked out of the darkness. The beam of the flashlight in Shang Yi’s hand shot straight at Ming Si. His stern face was apparent. His brows were slightly frowne and the anger in his eyes spoke for itself.

“Elder brother!” I shouted at him in surprise.

He glanced at me. His brows sunken deeper.

“You are simply too nosy.”

He spoke coldly with a hint of blame in his tone. I couldn’t help but be shocked.

We hadn’t seen each other for three years. This was the first sentence he said to me?

My heart sank. Was he blaming me for always causing trouble? But this matter of helping Xu Zixi was what I promised three years ago. It was my fault. I couldn’t forget about it. I hadn’t kept my word.

Xu Zixi’s anger was forgivable. Right now, Ming Si and Shang Yi were here. It was easy to subdue her. It was better that she would be forced to be exorcised than to leave her soul to stay in this school and persecute others.

Maybe I saw things too naively and simple.

I looked down and didn’t speak. Xu Zixi gripped the back of my collar tightly. I couldn’t escape even if I wanted to.

“Hell King has ordered Heibai Wuchang to arrest you. You’d better not cause trouble before this, or you will have to accept punishment in the underworld,” Ming Si stared at Xu Zixi coldly. His tone was cold and flat.

Shang Yi looked surprised at the moment and said, “Hell King wants to intervene in this matter?”

“It is Hell King’s business.”

“That’s right. Hell King always neglected to manage these ghosts that wander in this world. That’s why they cause so much trouble.”

“Would you cut it out? Just make it quick,” Xu Zixi interrupted the two and looked depressed.

I looked up at her. I wanted to calm her down and asked Shang Yi to help release her soul from purgatory. However, a cloudy breeze swelled up suddenly, accompanied by layers of white mist rising from the ground. Then I heard the sounds of chains clanking.

This voice… Could it be that Heibai Wuchang were coming?

I shivered and wanted to stand up. However, Xu Zixi realized what I wanted to do and tightened her grip on my neck, pressing me threateningly to the ground.

The back of my head slammed on the cold concrete floor. Black spots started obscuring my vision.

Xu Zixi seemed to know that this was her last chance and tried her best to strangle me to death.

My throat was getting tighter and I couldn’t breathe…

I vaguely caught Ming Si’s nervous face the moment before I lost consciousness.

When I woke up I was lying on the bed in the infirmary.

There was a lamp on the desk in the room, creating a dim light throughout the room. Ming Si was sitting on the side of the bed looking at me intently.

I sat up with a dazed expression. The part where I was hit at the back of my head was still painful. The small wound on my leg had been dressed.

After my head slowly cleared up, I immediately asked Ming Si what had happened after passed out.

He got up and used his large cold palms to hold my shoulders tightly. He said faintly, “Xu Zixi was taken away by Heibai Wuchang. Shang Yi was locked up on the rooftop by me.”

“…Why did you leave him on the rooftop?”

“He got in the way.”

“What do you mean?”

He suddenly smiled at me evilly. His face slowly came closer. The sternness between his eyebrows was gone. His eyes were flickering, revealing a hint of evil.

I swallowed hard. I felt that Ming Si was different tonight.

“Elder brother, what do you want to do?”

“Do whatever I want,” He said. His palm touched my face. His cold and smooth fingers slowly slipped from the side of my cheek to my collarbone.

He looked at my body and said with satisfaction, “You are in good shape.”

I was shocked. I quickly threw off his hand and jumped out of bed, and ran toward the door.

It had been three years since I saw him but I knew that Ming Si was so different today.

I felt that he was going to do something evil to me. How could I obediently let him do what he wanted?

I was only sixteen years old. I was still young even though I was old enough to get an identity card. If he really sleeps with me this time, it would mean he wouldn’t keep his word. He once said that he would wait until I was eighteen before we had sex.

I couldn’t waste any time. I rushed to the door, but I couldn’t open the narrow wooden door.

“Why are you running?” Ming Si’s seductive voice sounded.

I turned around and didn’t dare speak. He approached me in an instant, his handsome face seemingly charming me.

“But you can’t run.”

He put me in his arms and walked straight to the bed.

I was frightened. I struggled desperately and swung my hands and arms around. Suddenly my palm went numb as a loud clap sounded.

Ming Si froze. His eyebrows frowned a little.

My palm was numb. I didn’t mean to slap him. I just… accidentally slapped him in the face.

After a long time, he stared at me and murmured, “It seems that I marry a savage wife.”

“Elder brother, I…”

He didn’t listen to my nonsense. He raised his arms and carried me directly on his shoulder. I panicked, but he stepped forward, ignoring my slapping, and walked straight toward the bed. He threw me on the bed and leaned over me until he covered me completely.

My heartbeat wildly as his body pressed close to me.

It was impossible to escape this time.

His hands pressed hard on my shoulders restricting my movement.

He lowered his head and kissed my lips. The cold touch was familiar but strange at the same time. He tried desperately to get his tongue into my mouth but I didn’t let him get his way as I clenched my jaw, hoping to deter him.

Suddenly, he stopped and stared at me intensely. His thin lips moved, and he whispered, “You are less obedient than I thought.”

His tone was slightly resigned.

“Elder brother, don’t do this. There are two more years before the agreed time. You should wait…”
