It was true that Grandpa doted on her. Hence, all the more she would not want to put him on the spot.

The dishes were served one after another. However, when she was going to take a seat, she realized that her previous place had been taken by An Ruxue, and she no longer had an empty spot to sit.

As everybody was busy talking to Little Uncle and An Ge’er herself wished that they would not notice her, she turned around, planning to go to the kitchen to hang around for a while.

“Wait a minute.”

Suddenly, a cold male voice rang out from behind her.

An Ge’er paused for a moment before she continued to walk on.

“It’s rare for me to make a trip back… What’s this, Little Niece is unwilling to do me the honor of having a meal together?”

As soon as he said this, the atmosphere that was lively just a moment ago immediately quietened.

An Ge’er turned around and saw that Bo Yan was sitting on the chair, elegant and languid. His slender fingers were bent slightly as they tapped on the table, and his bright eyes seemed to have a deep meaning to them as they focused on her.

Her face turned pale. She really wanted to scold this Little Uncle in her heart. He did not realize what trouble his words would cause her. “I…”

“I what! What are you waiting for? Hurry and move a stool over. Can’t even read the situation!” the strict old woman chided, her gaze piercing.

An Ge’er pursed her lips and refused to look at him again.

Everyone knew that the old lady in the family was extremely strict and fierce. Even Grandfather, who was a commander, would be oppressed by her at times. Traditional and conservative, every time she opened her mouth, it would inevitably be linked to rules and discipline. It was fine if she only behaved this way towards her children, yet she was equally strict towards the younger generation.

Moreover, it was her second son, Bo Yan. Back then, she almost had a difficult birth with him. Hence, the old man allowed Bo Yan to take her surname. It was rare for him to make a trip back, so, obviously, she would not let anyone slight him.

Seeing how the atmosphere had turned tense, An Ruxue immediately smiled sweetly. “Grandma, Little Uncle has just returned. What are you saying? Little Sister is still young and not sensible, so don’t blame her.”

This remark seemed to be speaking up for An Ge’er, but she was secretly expressing that An Ge’er was already a grown-up but still so wild.

Sure enough, the old lady’s face turned even darker.

After An Ruxue spoke, she seemed to recall something. Hurriedly standing up as if she were embarrassed, she smiled awkwardly. “It’s my fault. This was originally Little Sister’s seat. An Ge’er, hurry and sit here. I’ll go and grab a stool.”

“Wait a minute! Xue’er, just sit there. This is originally your seat anyways. In the future, you should continue sitting there too!” Grandmother said. Glaring at An Ge’er with a frown on her face, she continued, “Hurry up and go!”

An Ge’er simply stood there. Listening to An Ruxue and Grandma, her hands involuntarily clenched tightly. Still, the expression on her face remained calm and gentle. “Okay.”

After she found a chair and sat down in the most remote part of the table, she tried to be as quiet as possible to avoid attracting their attention.

However, she could sense a gaze lingering on her.

Looking up, she followed that line of sight. That gaze disappeared just then, but in that direction was… Little Uncle.

“Little Uncle, you’re truly a marvel. I heard from Mommy that you finished your Ph.D. in Economics and Psychology at MIT when you were not even twenty years old. What’s more, in a few short years, you founded the SUM Corporation. My gosh, that’s worth billions! How did you do it, Little Uncle?”

An Ruxue gushed excitedly, the expression in her eyes reflecting her infatuation.
