My Empress is My Bad Girl - Chapter 39

This was the first time Zhao Yuanjing had ever gotten slapped in his entire life.

He would never have even dreamed that some day he would be slapped.

A clear imprint of a hand swiftly appeared on his fair cheek.

Yun Dai was still lying on the couch, and she froze as she saw the imprint appear on his face.

She wasn’t thinking when she hit him. It was only after she had slapped him that she remembered that this wasn’t some pervert from modern times, but a pervert who was also a Crown Prince.

Even though both kinds of perverts were equally despicable and shameless, what their backgrounds were in different eras made a huge difference.

She was now merely a palace maid, and she had actually hit the Crown Prince’s noble, precious face. There would be hundreds of people who would come to chop off her head because of this.

In that instant, many things went through her mind.

The things that worried her the most were Auntie Pan’s family and her son.

If she died, she knew Auntie Pan would definitely take good care of Yan’er.

But what if she ended up implicating Auntie Pan’s entire family?

Yun Dai immediately came to a decision. She quickly sat up, hopped off the couch, and lay prostrate on the floor. “Your servant deserves to die! Your Highness, please sentence me to death immediately. I will take full responsibility for what I’ve done.”

Zhao Yuanjing was still lying on the couch.

He slowly straightened himself out and reached out to touch his cheek.

There was a stinging pain where she had hit him.

She hadn’t held back her strength when she’d slapped him.

Zhao Yuanjing couldn’t help but think about how she had whacked the back of his hand with a spatula the last time he’d tried to crawl into the kitchen. She had hit him so decisively, viciously, and without hesitation.

This woman…was really vicious.

When she wanted to hit someone, she meant business.

Zhao Yuanjing was certain that if he had been just an ordinary man and not the Crown Prince, this woman would have literally bitten his head off.

Since that was her personality, it meant that her quick, desperate apology had only been given because she feared who he was.

“Get out,” said Zhao Yuanjing.

Yun Dai didn’t pause for a single moment. She immediately got to her feet and scrambled out.

“Stop,” Zhao Yuanjing spoke again.

Yun Dai immediately stopped in her tracks, but she didn’t turn around.

There was a whooshing sound behind her, and she felt a robe land on her body.

“Don’t let others see you like this. If you ruin my reputation, I’ll kill you,” said Zhao Yuanjing coldly.

Yun Dai immediately wrapped the robe around her and left quickly.

Zhao Yuanjing watched her leave and touched his cheek again as he thought, “This awful woman doesn’t have a conscience at all. She’s hit me, but she didn’t even ask if I was all right. She’s only worried about what’s going to happen to her.”

He went to look for a bottle of ointment and rubbed in onto his face. The dark-colored ointment covered his cheek with a blackish color, but at least his cheek didn’t hurt as badly as it had before.

When Liu Dequan returned to the room and saw that the entire room was covered with water and nobody had taken away the bathing tub, he immediately flew into a rage. But then when he saw that half of the Crown Prince’s face was covered with a blackish ointment, he nearly died from fright.

“Where have all the servants gone to?” bellowed Liu Dequan.

“What are you shouting about?” Zhao Yuanjing glared at him. “I accidentally fell while bathing earlier. Clear the place up.”

The maids quickly ran in to change everything inside the bedroom and cleaned it carefully.

Liu Dequan wanted to call the palace doctor in, but Zhao Yuanjing stopped him.

Liu Dequan took care of him and said, “As per Your Highness’s instructions, I’ve sent something to Consort Chen, and she is very pleased with it. She has invited Your Highness to come over. She says she’s made some snacks personally and would like Your Highness to have a taste.”

Everyone knew that was just an excuse. She just wanted to get the Crown Prince to stay the night in her room.

In the past, Zhao Yuanjing’s eyebrows wouldn’t have even flinched.

But when he suddenly thought about how frail the kitchen helper had looked earlier, something moved inside his heart. He got up and said, “Sure. I’ll go over to Consort Chen’s.”

Liu Dequan suspected that there was something wrong with his ears.

His Highness was willing to go to Consort Chen’s room?

He quickly responded, “I’ll go over and let Consort Chen know.”

“No need.” Zhao Yuanjing got up and sauntered out.

He just wanted to know whether this illness of his had been cured only when the kitchen helper was around or if he was all right around other women as well.
