My Dear Mr. Gu - Chapter 56

“That’s only because I think about you while doing it with her,” blurted Wei Yankang.

Huo Weiwu found this simply too hilarious. She could not help but burst out laughing.

“You can bring yourself to continue doing it with her when you’re thinking of me? Your brainpower must be strong!” said Huo Weiwu mockingly.

She did not wish to continue talking nonsense with him. There was an unexpected pain in her heart that was spreading.

Huo Weiwu opened the door with her keys.

Wei Yankang grabbed her wrist.

“Xiaowu, I will be struck by lightning if I’m lying about anything. I have no reason to lie to you. Wait for me for three years, just three years. I’ll be completely yours in three years,” pleaded Wei Yankang.

“Why would I want you!” Huo Weiwu flung his hand aside and ridiculed him ruthlessly, “To make a scumbag pancake?”

“I’ve not forgotten the promise that I made to you in your mother’s funeral hall. I said that I would take care of you and accompany you for life so that you wouldn’t have to be alone,” said Wei Yankang. His voice was choked with emotion.

Her heart grew colder with every sentence Wei Yankang uttered.

“How do you have the audacity to remind me of that memory when you’ve not fulfilled a single promise that you made? I really ought to ask my mother to invite you to the afterlife so you can face her and be accountable for yourself,” said Huo Weiwu coldly before she pushed the door open and entered her apartment.

Wei Yankang followed closely behind her, trying to explain himself. He said, “I can barely breathe. If I don’t marry Jiaoxue, my father will lose the right of inheritance to the Wei International Enterprise. The Wei family will never forgive my father for that. I cannot watch my father meet his death with my eyes wide open and not do anything about it. Xiaowu, can you understand my position?”

Huo Weiwu had grown very impatient. She tossed her purse onto the couch and turned around to regard Wei Yankang. She said, “I don’t understand your position, and I don’t forgive you. I’m very calculative and I haggle over every cent, so you can get out now.”

Wei Yankang stood there, refusing to move. His eyes were filled with love, his gaze deeply sentimental as he watched her.

“You can hit me or scold me, that’s all fine. I’ll let you hit me and scold me. However, Xiaowu, don’t defile yourself. Gu Haoting is not a simple man,” said Wei Yankang. His eyes were misty.

“No human being is simple. Are you a simple man yourself?” Huo Weiwu ridiculed him again as she grabbed the ashtray resting on the table.

Wei Yankang glanced at the ashtray but did not leave. Instead, he said in a deep voice, “All four of Gu Haoting’s previous fiancées passed away…”

Huo Weiwu smashed the ashtray on his arm.

“That’s my business and it has nothing to do with you. If you don’t leave, I’ll smash your head next,” declared Huo Weiwu, cutting him off midway.

Wei Yankang took a deep breath to ease his emotions. With a frown, he said, “You can smash me with it until I die. It would be a better fate than having to live so miserably like I do now.”

Huo Weiwu picked up the ashtray from the ground.

Wei Yankang grabbed her arm and sealed her lips with a kiss.

Furious, Huo Weiwu did not hesitate to bite his tongue.

“You adulterous pair! I’m going to tell my big brother and let him deal with you two,” screamed Gu Jiaoxue in agitation as she rushed to the apartment door just in time to catch sight of them kissing.

She grabbed her phone and was about to give Gu Haoting a call.

Panic flashed in Wei Yankang’s eyes as he quickly snatched Gu Jiaoxue’s phone away before she could do anything.

Gu Jiaoxue turned around and started running out of the apartment.

Unfortunately, she had only managed to take one step before Wei Yankang caught her in a tight embrace.

“Jiaoxue, this is not what it looks like,” said Wei Yankang in a low voice.

“Why did you come here for this sl*t? I installed a tracking device on your phone, and it shows that you’ve been here for half an hour,” said Gu Jiaoxue while sobbing.

“I just came here to ask her a few questions,” replied Wei Yankang in a deep voice.

“I’m going to tell my big brother. I’m going to tell him right now. Wei Yankang, if you betrayed me, there’s no way my brother will let you get away with it,” Gu Jiaoxue warned him.
