My Dear Mr. Gu - Chapter 49

Huo Weiwu instinctively retreated backward.

Gu Haoting did not become angry. Instead, he smiled.

This was the first time she had seen him smile like that.

His smile was vibrant and adorable as his eyes curled into crescents. Even though his eyes were filled with evil mockery, his smile still softened his features and accentuated his good looks. His usual sharpness faded away.

He was suffocatingly handsome.

“What are you laughing at?” asked Huo Weiwu, feeling bewildered.

Gu Haoting did not answer her. He merely handed the dark brown sugar ginger tea to Huo Weiwu and said, “Drink it.”

Huo Weiwu had no idea what was on Gu Haoting’s mind, but in the current situation, she thought it was best not to disobey him as he had the upper hand.

No matter what was in the cup, she had to drink it.

Huo Weiwu grabbed the cup. She drank one mouthful and spat it back into the cup. With a frown, she said disdainfully, “You added ginger. I hate the taste of ginger more than anything.

“This is why you have a ‘qi’ deficiency, which is a vital energy that circulates through your body. Drink up,” commanded Gu Haoting.

Huo Weiwu thrust the cup back into his hands. “I appreciate your kind intentions, but I can’t bring myself to drink this.”

Gu Haoting raised the cup and took one sip before he pressed his lips against hers and spat the liquid into her mouth.

Huo Weiwu was stunned.

She thought, “I spat a mouthful of dark brown sugar ginger tea into the cup just now and he still drank from it—isn’t that disgusting?

“Wait a minute.

“He spat his mouthful into my mouth…”

She wanted to throw up.

Huo Weiwu did not want to drink it. She struggled, attempting to break free of his grip.

Gu Haoting held the back of her neck and forced her lips to stay in place against his, leaving her unable to move at all.

The two of them remained in this deadlock for a whole minute.

Huo Weiwu’s lips were growing numb. She had to swallow the liquid.

Her stomach felt like it was on fire.

Gu Haoting released her and said in a deep voice, “Good girl.”

He handed her the cup again.

Huo Weiwu refused to take it. She glared at him with hidden bitterness in her eyes.

“I don’t mind continuing to do what I did just now to make you finish this,” Gu Haoting declared indifferently.

Huo Weiwu swiftly grabbed the cup and gulped down the liquid.

She wanted to throw up. It was disgusting.

She glared at Gu Haoting.

Gu Haoting, on the other hand, had a smile on his face that subtly indicated his excitement. However, there was another emotion present that Huo Weiwu could not quite pinpoint. She thought, “Is he poking fun at me?

“Or does he find it fun to force certain things on me?”

“Gu Haoting, what food do you hate the most?” asked Huo Weiwu as she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.

“Fish, carrots, and beef,” replied Gu Haoting.

She thought, “I’ve decided that when I get a chance, I’ll cook an entire meal consisting of only fish and force him to finish everything.”

Immersed in her wicked plans, Huo Weiwu did not notice Gu Haoting’s eyes flash with crafty intent.

There was a knock on the door.

“Hide yourself beneath the blanket,” Gu Haoting reminded her as his gaze landed on her chest.

His top was white, and since she was not wearing a bra, her rose-pink nipples were easily discernible.

Huo Weiwu turned his face toward the door to make him avert his gaze. Then, she hid herself beneath the blanket.

She was the first woman who had ever dared to touch his face like that.

Gu Haoting gave her a meaningful look as his eyes flashed momentarily with a trace of tenderness. However, he quickly reverted to his usual self and walked toward the door. He opened it.

“Sir, this is what you wanted,” said Lieutenant Shang respectfully.

“I can bring it in myself,” replied Gu Haoting as he blocked the doorway.

Lieutenant Shang dared not look inside the room. He reminded him, “You need to attend the award ceremony tonight.”

Gu Haoting lifted his arm and glanced at the time on his watch. He gave instructions to Lieutenant Shang, saying, “Go and make the necessary arrangements. We’ll leave in two hours.”

Huo Weiwu breathed in relief.

She thought, “He is going to leave in two hours. That is great news.”

Gu Haoting turned back and stared at Huo Weiwu.

Huo Weiwu’s spine was rigid and upright as she stared back at him defensively.
