A short while later, there was a knock on the door.
“Who is it?” asked Huo Weiwu.
“Room service.”
Huo Weiwu looked through the peephole and saw a server pushing a tray cart.
She opened the door.
The server pushed the cart in and placed her noodles on the table. Just as he was about to leave, a man in a black suit dashed into the room.
He didn’t even look her in the eyes as he made a beeline for the bathroom. At the same time, he pleaded, “Someone will come here to look for me. Please help me avoid him. You will stand to benefit from this.”
Huo Weiwu looked at his tall physique with a frown.
She just wanted to rest right now.
“Handsome guy, you’re in the wrong room,” said Huo Weiwu in an unfriendly voice.
Yu Yi turned around curiously and gazed at Huo Weiwu. “Do you know who I am?”
Huo Weiwu saw that he was rather attractive with big, double-lidded eyes. His facial features were very defined, and even though he was arrogant, he had an inherently noble aura.
Unfortunately, she had grown much too used to looking at attractive guys like Gu Haoting and Wei Yanking—it no longer had any effect on her.
Her lips spread into a mocking smile as she nodded at the door and commanded in a cold voice, “I don’t know who you are, so get out.”
The handsome man flipped her off and then yelled angrily, “I own the place you are in right now, do you understand that? You’ve been disqualified from the interviews.”
Huo Weiwu regarded the arrogant man before her coldly. She dragged out her syllables as she said, “Get. Out.”
“You’re the one who should get out. Get out right now,” said Yu Yi as he grabbed Huo Weiwu’s arm and forcefully pulled her to the door.
“Sir, we’ve checked the first and second floors. It’s time to check the third floor,” Lieutenant Shang reported to Gu Haoting.
Gu Haoting face was cold and handsome. His gaze was as sharp as a knife as he scanned the corridors.
He was like the king of beasts, intimidating and powerful.
Yu Yi frowned and said to Huo Weiwu, “You just need to help me hide from the man outside and I’ll give this villa to you.”
“I’m not interested in your villa,” replied Huo Weiwu nonchalantly.
There was a thud as the door to the adjacent room, Room 302, was kicked open.
A wave of panic flashed across Yu Yi’s eyes. “I’ll give you 10 million dollars on top of that.”
Without waiting for Huo Weiwu’s reply, he dashed into the bathroom.
Huo Weiwu’s beautiful eyes narrowed in a way that made them look like the eyes of a cat.
“Sir, he’s not in Room 302,” said Lieutenant Shang.
Gu Haoting turned his cold gaze to Room 303.
Huo Weiwu’s heart trembled.
“F*ck!” she thought. “Why am I running into him here? After all, I snuck out for fun—I’m doomed if he sees me.”
Huo Weiwu grabbed her purse and ran into the bathroom.
“Why did you come in here as well?” asked Yu Yi.
Huo Weiwu opened the window and threw her purse outside. She fixed her gaze on the swimming pool and, without even looking at Yu Yi in the eye, said icily, “If you get caught, don’t tell him that you saw me here.”
“What?” Yu Yi was bewildered.
Huo Weiwu stepped onto the window ledge and then leaped out.
Yu Yi was speechless.
He thought to himself, “Did she have to jump out of the building without first making herself clear?”
He ran to the window.
Huo Weiwu plunged headfirst into the water. The impact caused her face and body immense pain.
However, she could not care less about the pain. She crawled out of the swimming pool completely drenched, picked up her purse, and gazed at the open window upstairs.
Yu Yi paused momentarily. He was about to imitate her actions and had just stepped onto the window ledge when Lieutenant Shang dragged him back down. “Your Majesty, that’s dangerous.”
Yu Yi was annoyed by the delay in his actions. When he turned around, he saw an expressionless Gu Haoting.
“Your father asked me to take care of you. Come with me,” commanded Gu Haoting.
Yu Yi flung away Lieutenant Shang’s hand. “My father asked you to take care of me, not imprison me. I don’t think I need your permission to throw a party with my friends!”
“You wanted to party, right? Let’s conduct the interviews here. I’ll sit with you, how does that sound?” Gu Haoting curled his lips slightly, and his cryptic smile only made him look even scarier.
