My brother is an Idol - Chapter 48

Chapter 48

The next morning, before going to school, Hyoyoung checked the online message that The M had posted regarding their upcoming concert. She nodded in determination and left the house.

When she arrived, she screamed as she walked into the classroom to be dramatic, “OMG!!!”

She wanted to spread the news of The M’s concert, but to her surprise, the classroom was already buzzing with excitement. No one had even noticed her running into the room.

“Huh?”

Everyone was chatting both eagerly and nervously.

“OMG! The M’s concert?! How could this be?!”

“This isn’t fair! Our SAT is only a few months away! This is too cruel!”

“Hey, we can take the SAT again next year, but The M’s very first concert will only happen once! I have made my decision! I have no choice but to go!”

“The SAT isn’t even my biggest worry. It’s going to be impossible to get a ticket to this. I heard that the tickets will probably be sold out within seconds of them being available. The rumor is that the black market is going to be busy. Those tickets will go for so much money in the black market.”

“But didn’t they say that if anyone is caught entering the concert with the black market ticket, they will be denied?”

“Yeah, but how would they know? There will be plenty of fans willing to pay tenfold the ticket price to get in, and they aren’t going to confess that they bought it from the black market. I would absolutely buy a ticket illegally if I had the money.”

“Oh, Hyoyoung! You heard?! Oh, and I can see that you are excited! You are totally back to your normal self!”

Mikyung greeted her with excitement as Hyoyoung sat down next to her.

“What the?! I thought I was going to be the first person to announce the news to everyone, but it looks like everyone already knows! The announcement was made at 6 AM this morning, so how did everyone find out so quickly?”

“How did you find out?”

“Me? Oh, I woke up and checked The M’s agency website… I had a feeling there might be news….”

“And we all did the same! You are not the only one who checks The M’s website regularly. We all became so excited that we came to school early. The problem now is how to get the tickets…”

“I know. I guess it’s going to be hard to get them?”

Aran sighed and sat down next to Mikyung and Hyoyoung. She complained, “Totally. It’s going to be a war. A bloody one too. The ticket goes on sale at noon today. Everyone brought their laptops so they can work fast. If our class before lunch ends even a minute late, we are all doomed.”

While her classmates worried about the tickets, Hyoyoung grinned secretly.

Yesterday, which was Sunday night, Hyoyoung came out from her room after her nap and suggested something to the guys.

“How about we make it hard for the girls to get the concert tickets?”

“Hard?”

“Yeah. For example, you can open the online ticket booth at noon on a weekday. This would make it really hard for the student fans to purchase them.”

“Why would we do that?”

“Well, for a selfish reason. I just want to make it impossible for Mikyung to get the ticket. I will then pretend to get the tickets somehow and take her to the concert.”

“Oh…”

“You can do at least that much for me, right?”

“And we just have to get you 2 tickets?”

“Hmm… get me 4 tickets, just in case.”

“Ok.”

“Alright. I’m going back to bed now.”

So Hyoyoung already a few tickets in her possession and that was why she felt relaxed. Of course, her classmates didn’t know this. During the class before lunch, all the girls at school stared at the clock, hoping that the teacher would end the class early, or at least on time. The official class end time was at noon.

The classroom was tense. Most of the girls had their laptop fully charged and ready to go on their laps. They all stared at the teacher, trying to wish her into ending the class early.

Unfortunately, the teacher took their stare as something entirely different; she thought that the students were interested in her lesson. The teacher thought proudly, ‘Oh, finally! My students want to learn! Look at them focusing on me. I better do my best with this class!’

What the students wanted was for her to end her class early, but their teacher continued on.

In the end, the class ended 12:10 PM.

The teacher announced happily, “Good class, everyone!”

After she left the classroom, the girls groaned.

“Oh no! We are doomed.”

Mikyung was in tears. She logged onto the online ticket site anyway, just in case, but as she expected, it was completely sold out.

“The tickets were sold out in less than a minute. They said it was some kind of a record.”

“Dammit! So should we look into the black market now?”

“OMG! There aren’t any tickets on the black market either. Usually, they start selling within 10 minutes of tickets being sold out.”

“Darn! This can’t be! Gosh, I hate this.”

Because everyone was so upset, no one noticed how calm Hyoyoung was. Mikyung was so furious that she didn’t pay attention to Hyoyoung either. Mikyung just sighed sadly.

Hyoyoung took out her phone quietly and texted Hyojun.

-You got my tickets, right? Four of them?

-Yup.

-Are you sure? You aren’t going to pull something stupid, like tell me at the last minute that you don’t have the tickets and I need to get them myself somehow?

-Yup.

-Stop giving me one-word answers! Answer me properly.

-I have your tickets. I’m busy.

Hyoyoung grumbled to herself, “Gosh, that idiot. He is so annoying.”

Suddenly, Mikyung asked Hyoyoung weakly, “What are you doing?”

“Come with me for a second.”

Hyoyoung dragged her out of the classroom. The entire time, Mikyung grumbled angrily, and when they were in a quiet hallway, Hyoyoung whispered to her, “My brother got the tickets.”

Mikyung stared at her dumbfoundedly.
