Upon waking up, Lin Yi was shocked to see so many things piled up in her living room. Everyone had some expectations when they knew that she married the heir to the prestigious Li family, but the truth was, the Li family didn’t even present her family with customary betrothal gifts during their wedding.
Perhaps they came to a subtle settlement with the ‘gifts’. After all, her father had the opportunity to work with the Li family for a few big projects and hence, earned quite a lot of money.
The Li family was certainly very generous. The gifts were easily worth ten million dollars.
For some big families, their reputation or image was the most important to them. Of course, the heir of the Li family had to bring lavish gifts when he visits his bride’s home. Otherwise, he would be ridiculed by others.
Wang Ma started the car engine and the three of them quickly headed towards Lin Yi’s house.
Judging from the size of the mansion, the Lin family was indeed a powerful family in Jiangdu.
They had come to the main residence of the Lin family, where most of the family’s members lived.
Although it was his first time seeing a mansion like this, Li Tian was not surprised at all. It was because he had seen the size of the Li family residence and also bigger mansions while he was abroad.

There were many people standing at the door, waiting to greet him. After all, Li Tian was someone special that should be welcomed warmly.

Lin Zheng invited Li Tian and Lin Yi into the house, whilst Wang Ma began to unload the car.
The gifts were lavish, so the Lin family ordered a few of their workers to guard the Li family’s gifts.
As she was only a maid, Wang Ma didn’t join the family talk, and someone else was supposed to prepare food for her privately. She was supposed to just wait there and send the two of them home when it was time to leave.
It was around ten o’clock in the morning and there was still more than an hour to go till lunch. At the same time, more than a dozen people were gathered in the living room conversing.
Li Tian felt awkward being with a group of strangers in the living room whereas Lin Yi had already followed her mother to the bedroom upstairs.
To be honest, Lin Zheng was the only person he knew amongst the crowd.
However, everyone gave him a warm welcome and were very kind to him, especially a few middle-aged men who treated Li Tian with the utmost respect.
Even though they knew Li Tian didn’t have much status in his family, they still pretended to be nice on the surface. After all, these people had been doing business for a long time, they knew how to play their cards well.
Simply said, no one looked at Li Tian with disdain except a few youngsters, who were obviously too thick-skulled to be there.
Besides them, no one else was stupid enough to treat Li Tian with scorn. Why? It didn’t matter if Li Tian was statusless, those people had nothing gain from being rude to him.

Lin Chen was the only son of Lin Zheng, and also the future heir to the family.
Upon hearing his father say this, Lin Chen immediately glanced at Li Tian.

Lin Zheng was fuming as he scolded his son for misbehaving.

Lin Zheng felt his chest burn. His good-for-nothing son was acting up again today.

Lin Chen turned his head around with a smug expression on his face.
At the same time, Li Tian who was sipping on his tea slowly stood up.

“There’s no need for that. Just tell Xiao Yi later. I’ll leave first with Wang Ma.”
No matter how much Lin Zheng tried to stop him from leaving, Li Tian still walked out the door in the end.
When Lin Chen heard Li Tian say that he was leaving. A smug expression appeared on his face once again as he spoke arrogantly, “A garbage person like him deserves to be with a tramp like Lin Yi! What a perfect pair!”
“You better get out of my sight right now! I don’t have a son like you! From this day onward, you’re not allowed to enter this house anymore! Also, don’t expect to get any money from the Lin family!”
