Li Tian finally arrived at home. He remembered what Lin Yi had previously told him, that Tang Wan was no ordinary person.
Although he didn’t care about status, he didn’t want to upset Lin Yi by getting too close to Tang Wan.
“You’re back?”
It was already past 11 at night, but Lin Yi was still up in the living room reading a magazine, seemingly waiting for Li Tian.
“Yeah, I came back after picking my friend up.”
Li Tian took a seat on the sofa, right beside Lin Yi. The pleasant smell of her perfume travelled through the air.
It smells so good.
“Why didn’t you bring him here?”
Lin Yi asked.
“I didn’t think that it would be appropriate. He’s a little different from us, so I dropped him off at a hotel.”
“Oh.”
Lin Yi didn’t say much.
The room fell silent. After about five minutes Lin Yi broke the silence and said, “I should go to sleep now. Don’t stay up too late.”
After she finished her sentence, Lin Yi gently put the magazine down and prepared to get off the sofa.
“Honey, are you forgetting something?”
Li Tian abruptly shot a smile at Lin Yi.
Despite not knowing the reason why, Lin Yi felt slightly uncomfortable upon seeing Li Tian’s smile.
However, she still asked, “Forget about what?”
“Uh…”
Li Tian was so embarrassed that he couldn’t even speak properly.
Lin Yi crinkled her eyebrows and replied, “Quick. I’m going to bed now.”
“Didn’t you ask me to move into your room? Tonight…”
Li Tian mustered up his courage and asked.
Although Lin Yi previously mentioned it, she never brought up the topic again. Li Tian thought that she was fooling him.
Lin Yi’s cheeks instantly flushed upon hearing his words.
What should she say? That she wasn’t ready? After all, they had already been married for quite some time.

Upon finishing her sentence, Lin Yi headed towards the stairs without looking back.

In Tang Wan’s house.
Tang Wan was almost scared to death after everything that happened today. She couldn’t believe that her beloved daughter was kidnapped. Tang Wan couldn’t stop pacing around her living room due to anxiety. She had already sent so many people to find her daughter, but everything had its limits. She really wanted to go out there and look for her daughter by herself.
The men she sent out had already sealed the borders of Jiangdu city. However, traces of her daughter were still nowhere to be found, including surveillance footages.
It was already past 11 at night, and Tang Wan slowly started to lose hope.
She really couldn’t live without her daughter.
Frustrated, Tang Wan chased the six men out of her house. She wasn’t in the mood to see anyone right now. In the empty house, Tang Wan seemed as though she had lost her mind.
“Mommy…”
Suddenly, a soft voice came from the door.
Tang Wan was shocked when she heard that voice. She knew it belonged to her daughter. Tang Wan wasn’t even sure if she was imagining things.
However, when she saw the figure of a little girl standing by the door, Tang Wan immediately burst into tears.
“My darling [sobbing]…”
Tang Wan rushed to hug her daughter as if she was letting out all the frustrations and anxiety she had in the past few hours.
“Mommy, don’t cry please…”
Wen Wen held Tang Wan’s face with her tiny hands.
“Okay, I won’t cry. Darling, tell me. Who sent you home? Did you see Uncle San Quan?”
Tang Wan immediately asked.
“Nope. Mr. Superman saved me from the bad guys and dropped me off right in front of the house.”
Wen Wen answered.
Right in front of the house?
Tang Wan took a look outside, but she didn’t see anyone.
“Do you know him?”
“Nope.”
“Then how did he save you?”
Tang Wan was confused. She knew for sure that her daughter was kidnapped, so how did that person manage to save Wen Wen from the hands of the kidnappers?
“Mr. Superman said that he was heading to the airport to pick his friend up, but along the way, he came across those bad guys who kidnapped me. So he defeated all of them and rescued me.”
“The airport? Wen Wen, let’s go freshen up and I’ll make you something to eat before you go to bed.”
Tang Wan was sure that young Wen Wen must’ve been terribly affected by this incident, so she didn’t want to continue talking and cause Wen Wen any more trauma.
She walked Wen Wen to the bathroom and adjusted the water temperature for her. She then left to go to the kitchen to prepare food.
Tang Wan also made a phone call while Wen Wen was showering.
“San Quan, Wen Wen is home safely. She had been rescued by someone, but I’m not sure who it was. Check the route to the airport, Wen Wen said that she was rescued somewhere there. Also, check the surveillance cameras along the road. Let me know if you have any information about that guy.”
Tang Wan ended the call and began to cook for Wen Wen.

About half an hour later, Tang Wan tucked an exhausted Wen Wen into bed.
Suddenly, Tang Wan’s phone rang.
“Ma’am. This is quite serious. I’ve checked the route to the airport and found that there were 18 dead bodies on the road. It looked like someone had slit their throats open. There were also quite a few weapons laying on the ground but there weren’t any surveillance cameras in the area. However, we checked the surveillance footage from another road and saw a car which must’ve rescued Wen Wen. She was seated in the passenger’s seat at that time.”
The news sent chills down Tang Wan’s spine.
18 people, all dead. Does that mean that one man took down all 18 people and saved Wen Wen?
“Do a background check on him and send me any information you have about that man. I want details!”
