“Leave the car here and piss off!”
One of the men shouted at Li Tian whilst holding a gun.
The man had a slight accent when he spoke. Although he painted his face, Li Tian could still see his appearance.
That man had an intimidating pose. Li Tian was used to dealing with groups of mercenaries in the past, so of course, he also exuded an intimidating aura. For instance, although those smaller groups of mercenaries in Vietnam had experienced battles, they lack experience. Although they dared to kill, nobody could be like Li Tian, who used to kill with a poker face.
To say that Li Tian had an intimidating aura was an understatement.
“Hey, guys, this isn’t my car. I borrowed it from someone so I can’t let you take it. How about you tell me where you want to go and I’ll give you guys a lift there?”
Li Tian said calmly while analyzing his surroundings.
He realized something. It was unlikely that anyone would pass by that place at that time. He was already surrounded by eleven men who were trying to intimidate him. However, they weren’t that intimidating in Li Tian’s eyes.
The only thing that Li Tian was worried about was whether or not there were more people hiding in the dark. Li Tian felt like there were eyes on both sides of the road, secretly watching him.
Of course, this was Li Tian’s instinct in dangerous situations like this. Most people who worked in this field had some sort of ‘heightened sense’, but Li Tian was undoubtedly much more sensitive than others.
“No, just be thankful that I’m letting you go! If not, I’ll shoot!”
That man held his gun to Li Tian’s head, and Li Tian immediately feigned a scared expression.
Li Tian knelt down on the ground and exclaimed, “No, no, please don’t kill me. Please don’t…”
As they watched Li Tian beg for his life, the men started to laugh. One of them who seemed like the boss quickly dragged Li Tian to the side and then ordered his subordinates, “Quick, drive this car away. We’ll stop another car and meet there!”
Li Tian was speechless when he heard that. Stop another car? Just say you’re stealing, okay?
“Okay, boss. What about that side?”
One of his subordinates pointed at to area veiled in darkness. Li Tian knew immediately that there were more of them.
How many? Hmm, if there are less than ten then it would still be manageable.
This was Li Tian’s level of confidence, the confidence of the devil.
After all, it would be very embarrassing if he really felt threatened by these insignificant gangsters.
He was only acting.
“Don’t care about them! Since they didn’t follow us, then just let them die! Anyways, we’ve completed our task so we’ll distribute the pay after we get back!”
It was obvious that these men were after money.
After listening to their short conversation, Li Tian could deduce that it was very likely that two groups of men were hired to complete a task, but after they were successful, one of the groups let the other one leave first.
After analyzing the situation, Li Tian’s instinct was that the people hiding in the dark were stronger, as the ones outside were sent away first to meet their ends.
Li Tian also assumed that something big must’ve happened and that the airport would be blocked as well.
“Brothers, this is my car! You can’t do this to me!”
When he saw one of the men walking towards the driver’s seat, Li Tian bravely stood up to hold him back.
“Huh!? Get down! If not, I’ll shoot you!”
As he held the man, Li Tian was held at gunpoint once again.
However, Li Tian pretended not to notice and stealthily reached for the man’s neck.
‘Crack’
It happened extremely quickly, but there was hardly any sound. At the same time, Li Tian was shouting at the top of his lungs so no one would notice what had happened.
The man who had been walking to the driver’s seat collapsed, but only Li Tian knew. To avoid suspicion, Li Tian continued his act whilst holding onto the dead body, “This is my car! You can’t do this! This is a robbery! Boo hoo…”
“What robbery…”
“Bang!”
Before that man could finish his sentence, Li Tian swiftly grabbed the dead body and flung it towards the man.
The body weighed 100-200 pounds, so naturally, the impact wouldn’t be small. The man who had just been attacked had no time to react before he was knocked to the ground.
Li Tian had to be fast. Since he had already decided to fight back, he couldn’t afford to let the other men in hiding notice what he was doing.
He didn’t have any weapons with him, but the car key was more than enough!
The car key was like a sharp dagger in Li Tian’s hands. The other men surrounding him didn’t even have the chance to react before they all fell to the ground one by one.
The average reaction time for humans? Approximately zero point something seconds. However, those men were in a daze for about two seconds.
In those two seconds, another four men fell to the ground.
When they finally reacted, only five men were left standing. They immediately surrounded Li Tian and pointed their guns at him. However, no one dared to pull the trigger.
The distance was too close, and they were afraid that they would shoot their own members by mistake.
However, upon seeing this, Li Tian didn’t waver in the slightest. In a blink of an eye, he kicked two men to the ground with a leg-sweep.
This was immediately followed by a punch. Before the other man had time to react, he collapsed to the floor.
To Li Tian, the fighting techniques of these men were just like those of ordinary people. Plus, they treated the weapons in their hands like decorations. If Li Tian and his team were faced with situations like this, he knew that he would reach for his gun without hesitation.
In the end, none out of the eleven men fired a single bullet.
After he slashed the last man’s neck with his car key, Li Tian dusted off his hands and slowly stood up.
He turned to look around him and in the darkness, Li Tian could smell the strong fishy odour of blood.
It had already been about a month since he last encountered that kind of smell…
However, as soon as Li Tian stood up, he suddenly realized that there was a red light aimed at his chest, followed by a loud ‘bang’.
A sniper rifle!
Someone was using a sniper rifle!
Upon hearing that sound, Li Tian immediately understood the situation.
“Puff…”
The sound of the sniper rifle bullet travelled in the air, followed by a ‘plop’ sound as if something hit the ground.
Then, there was utter silence. Only the constant flashing of the car’s headlights remained in the darkness.
