After a rather relaxed day at work, Li Tian went home with Lin Yi.
Lin Yi didn’t want to attract unnecessary attention, so she told Li Tian to sit in the back seat instead of the passenger seat.
How sad. Li Tian thought he’d be better off walking home, at least he’d be able to see a few pretty girls walking on the streets.

They arrived home at around 7 p.m., and Wang Ma already had dinner ready for them. So, Lin Yi decided to eat before leaving for Tang Wan’s house.
Tang Wan lived quite close to them, as they lived in the same neighbourhood.
However, when they got to Tang Wan’s villa after finishing dinner, they noticed something rather strange.
There were about five to six people in military uniforms inside Tang Wan’s villa. Li Tian knew instantly that it would be a bad idea to get on the wrong side of these people.
“Ma’am, don’t worry too much. I have ordered my people to look for Nan Nan, and informed the Department of Transportation to block several important entry/exit points. Nothing bad will happen.”
A typical-looking man said, standing in front of Tang Wan.
The other men chimed in, despite looking quite worried.
Tang Wan looked even more anxious. She seemed extremely downcast, as though she was going to cry at any second.
An hour ago, Tang Wan went to pick her daughter up from her school as usual. However, she was then told that her daughter was already picked up that noon by a man who was supposed to be her father.
Impossible. My daughter wouldn’t leave school during noontime. As Tang Wan led a busy lifestyle, her daughter usually had lunch by herself in school.
After she heard the news, Tang Wan nearly fainted then and there. She knew that her daughter had been kidnapped and had been put in a life or death situation.
Although she was rich, it didn’t mean that she had the ability to find her daughter back herself. Hence, she went to seek help.
These people from the army were key to finding her daughter, as they had more connections and resources to do so. However, there was still no news of her daughter even after locking down the entire Jiangdu city.
“San Quan, you have to help me get Nan Nan back. I don’t want anything bad to happen to her. How am I supposed to live if anything happens to her?”
Tang Wan said, almost begging. The few men standing beside her felt even more troubled after hearing the desperation in her tone.
“Ma’am, I swear on my life that I will find Nan Nan. I’ll send another group of people to find her now. We’ll find her!”
The man named as ‘San Quan’ said.
“Who’s that?
The men noticed the two walking over and exclaimed.
“Don’t be rash. They’re my friends.”
Tang Wan immediately walked out to see the two.
It was Li Tian’s first time seeing Tang Wan appearing so vulnerable. Her eyes were bloodshot and she seemed extremely soulless. She was drastically different from the usual appearance she had.
Tang Wan invited the two into the villa and apologized to Lin Yi. She told her that due to some personal matters, she wouldn’t be able to seal the deal that night. After the situation sorts out, she would go to Lin Yi’s house to retrieve the bracelet herself.
Of course, Tang Wan wouldn’t be in the mood to do anything else.
Lin Yi also realized that something serious must’ve happened to Tang Wan. However, as Lin Yi was just an outsider, she couldn’t ask much and so, she offered Tang Wan a few words of consolation. After this, Li Tian and Lin Yi left Tang Wan’s house.
Li Tian was still curious after leaving the villa.
What happened? Why were there so many people in the villa?
There were six men dressed in military uniforms at Tang Wan’s villa. Surely it wasn’t something small.
Needless to say, those men were as powerful as Black Dragon Soul members.
“Did you see?”
Lin Yi asked Li Tian in a soft tone.
“She has people like that around her. No wonder nobody dared to interrupt her business or get on her nerves all this while.”
LI Tian said honestly.
“You finally understand. Don’t stay too close to her in the future. She has a powerful background as well as those military men behind her back.”
Things would always get complicated if those from the military were involved, and Li Tian knew this better than anyone else.
“Honey, you’ve misunderstood me. I really didn’t have anything going on with her.”
“That better be the case. If you did, I’ll divorce you immediately. I don’t want to be killed for no reason because of you.”
Of course, this was just a treat. Lin Yi only wanted to give Li Tian a little warning.
“Alright, alright.”
Li Tian answered with a frown on his face.
As soon as he finished his sentence, his phone rang.
Li Tian took a glance at his phone and immediately broke into a smile.
“Hey, He Shang! You’re finally back?”
“You’re at the airport? Sure, I’ll come and get you now.”
Li Tian hung up the phone and said, “Honey, one of my friends just came back. I need to go to the airport to pick him up. Can I borrow your car? It’s a guy friend of mine. Why are you giving me that look? I promise I’ll come home as soon as I drop him off at his accommodation. Trust me.”
Lin Yi agreed to lend her car in the end. Li Tian thought, phew, what kind of life is this? Can’t believe it’s so hard to even get permission to go out.
Li Tian didn’t expect that He Shang would be back tonight. He thought that it would be best to let He Shang stay at a hotel, as he couldn’t possibly bring He Shang to Lin Yi’s house, right?
If it was Li Tian’s house then, naturally, he would let He Shang stay the night. However, the house belonged to Lin Yi.
Li Tian got out of the house and drove to the airport soon after. The airport was located about an hour away from the city.
However, Li Tian realized that there were a lot of random checkpoints along the way. Fortunately, they weren’t checking driving licences, instead, they were checking for suspicious people. Li Tian’s car trunk was also checked several times.
Although he was curious, he quickly brushed the thought off.
After about half an hour along the way, Li Tian was driving through a quite isolated road. Suddenly, a dozen men rushed out from both sides of the road and surrounded Li Tian’s car immediately. Li Tian had no choice but to step on the brakes after seeing the things in their hands.
“Hey, let’s all calm down a little. You want money, right? Um, I have 300 here and another 50, too. I’ll give you everything.”
Li Tian opened the car door and exited the car whilst raising both his hands to surrender. He then took out his wallet to retrieve his money. After all, it was only normal for anyone who was faced with this sort of situation to think that it was an armed robbery.
