Upon hearing that Li Tian was married, Chen Ya Jing let him leave.

Because Li Tian didn’t bother to explain himself, Chen Ya Jing ran into her room and slammed her door shut.

The sun had just begun to rise as Li Tian left the apartment to walk towards the villa.

Judging by his walking pace, it would’ve taken him around 15 minutes to arrive at the villa. Although it wasn’t too far, it wasn’t that close either.

Li Tian had changed his perspective on life after experiencing the events that had occurred that night. He realized that although he was used to using his status as the Li family’s heir, he was confident that his true identity would be exposed to those of high statuses after this incident.

Since returning to the country, he had kept a low profile and did not cause any trouble for himself or the family. If he didn’t decide to look for the memory card, he wouldn’t have left any traces and his situation wouldn’t have developed in an unfavourable direction.

Li Tian had faintly remembered that he had met that woman about a year ago.

Upon returning to the villa, he spotted Lin Yi eating breakfast at the dining table.

It’s only 5:30 in the morning, why is she up so early?

Today, she was wearing a pair of joggers, which made her look younger. She resembled a normal neighbourhood girl and even seemed quite friendly.

However, as soon as she spoke, this friendly impression immediately disappeared.

“Wang Ma, I’m done eating. I’m going out for a bit.”

Her voice was cold and completely different from the image Li Tian had imagined just now.

She retrieved her cap and put it on before heading towards the door.

As she walked past Li Tian, she didn’t even spare him a glance.

At this moment, Li Tian was unsure of how he should feel.

Sure enough, after the incident last night, the relationship between the two had returned to how it was on the first night of their marriage.

No feelings or fondness whatsoever.

“Good morning Wang Ma.”

Upon returning, Li Tian greeted Wang Ma.

“Good morning, Sir.”

Wang Ma always had a smile whenever she spoke to Li Tian.

Although she had stayed up the entire night waiting for him to return, she never held a grudge.

Not only was it her duty as a maid, but it also wouldn’t be good to hold grudges against her own employer.

“Sir, do you want some breakfast? I can make something for you.”

Wang Ma didn’t know that Li Tian would return prior to this, and thus, she didn’t make enough food for his portion.

“Don’t worry about it, I don’t feel like eating. I haven’t slept a wink last night so I think I’ll go rest now. I’ll get up around 8 to get breakfast myself.”

Li Tian wasn’t in the mood to eat anything. His actions from a few hours ago still bugged him. As he had lived a normal life since he returned, this incident caused him to feel slightly nauseous due to the sight of blood.

Internally, he thought that it was ridiculous for him to feel this way. This wasn’t an emotion the Devil should possess.

“Oh yeah, why…did she get up so early to go out?”

Before he went upstairs, Li Tian turned his head to ask.

“Sir, you may not have known about this but today is her grandfather’s death anniversary. Every year, she would wake up extremely early to jog to the cemetery.”

Death anniversary?

Li Tian felt something twitch inside of him upon hearing this. He had been abandoned by his parents, and the only two people in this world who had cared for him were his late grandfather and his aunt.

At this moment, Li Tian’s drowsiness disappeared. He asked Wang Ma about the location of the cemetery and promptly rushed there.

It wasn’t too far, otherwise, Lin Yi wouldn’t have chosen to jog there.

Obviously, the cemetery was built exclusively for the rich. The surroundings were beautiful, and there were even groundskeepers.

For afar, Li Tian was able to see Lin Yi’s lone silhouette due to the fact that there wasn’t anyone else there so early in the morning.

It was quite chilly in the morning when Li Tian witnessed this scene.

Lin Yi brought a fruit basket and flowers which she had presumably prepared the night before.

She squatted in front of her grandfather’s tombstone with watery eyes.

“Grandpa, Xiao Yi is here to see you again. How have you been over there?’

Lin Yi murmured to herself. Perhaps, at that moment, she had revealed the most vulnerable part of her.

“I have good news for you. I’m married now and my husband treats me very well. I wanted to bring him to see you today, but it was too early, and he was still sleeping.”

“I felt so blessed when I was a child, during the times when you used to secretly send me things. I’m older now, so don’t worry about me. I guess you were also the one who sent my husband to me? You were always worried that I would be lonely, or if I would be bullied…”

Lin Yi spoke in the softest voice, but Li Tian heard everything loud and clear.

His relationship with Lin Yi wasn’t like what she had described to her late grandfather at all. Li Tian had never even heard the words “my husband” roll off of Lin Yi’s tongue so naturally.

However, as Lin Yi had already spoken, Li Tian didn’t intend to expose the whole truth.

After approximately half an hour, Lin Yi seemed to have finished venting her feelings and was preparing to leave.

Lin Yi knew that her mother would be there soon as it was her own father’s death anniversary.

Lin Yi didn’t want to bump into anyone, so she always visited early in the morning.

However, as she was leaving, she spotted a silhouette by the side.

The man had a smile planted on his face and was staring directly at her.

Lin Yi felt slightly guilty upon seeing him but believed that he couldn’t have possibly heard what she had said as they were standing quite far away from each other.

Thus, Lin Yi continued walking. She didn’t have the intention to talk to Li Tian, but was required to walk past him to get to the exit.

However…

“Honey, your words were absolutely right. I didn’t know that I had so many good qualities. I guess it’s true that you’re the only person who truly understands me.”

Li Tian smiled brightly as he spoke. He didn’t seem to realize that Lin Yi’s face was darkened.

She seemed upset, but in truth, she felt embarrassed as she didn’t think that he would be able to hear what she had said.

“None of your business!”

In the end, Lin Yi only managed to utter those four words.

“Huh? None… of my business?”

Li Tian was confused by Lin Yi’s words. Truth be told, she only said that to divert his attention away from her embarrassment. Lin Yi would never let Li Tian have the upper hand in their relationship. So, she could only say that it was none of Li Tian’s business. After all, no one invited him to come?

Lin Yi didn’t answer his question and just walked past him.

Li Tian was frustrated, but he wasn’t one to give in easily, either.

Therefore, he immediately rushed to her side and put his arm around her shoulders.

“Hey, since we’re already husband and wife, let’s walk together.”

“Okay, don’t move your shoulders. Let me do it.”

“Why are you moving away? Stay close to me, yeah, that’s right…”
