Multiverse’s End - Chapter 48

There were thirty minutes until the meeting. Luo Su got to the Parker home ten minutes early and spent another twenty minutes waiting outside.

Being late was a privilege God had granted to women. A man simply needed to calmly wait, and then when the woman appeared, give an easygoing smile that could instantly boost his favorability.

No complaints were needed. After all, you still had to wait, so what was the harm in smiling!

If you were angry, it was fine. Just hold it in and then find the right opportunity in the future to make her cry!

The beauty of a woman was in full bloom in her youth. A little gloss on the lips would make her more gorgeous than a flower. Ashley carefully selected a piece of clothing that would accentuate her advantages and additionally sprayed a little perfume.

She was extremely satisfied by Luo Su’s patience. After putting on the offered helmet, she sat on the backseat, her two hands naturally hugging Luo Su’s waist.

Luo Su pressed on the accelerator and turned his motorcycle in the direction of the city. A town was still a town, and when it came to delicious food and places to have fun…it had absolutely nothing.

It would take a two-hour round trip to go to a big city, which was far too much time. Ashley would get a beating once she got back home, and her sheriff’s mother would put Luo Su on the blacklist. Thus, Luo Su chose to go to the nearest city.

In the movie theater, Luo Su saw a poster for ‘Spider-Man.’ It was the first in Sony’s Spider-man trilogy, featuring that Spider-Man, who barely talked. He looked at Ashley, who immediately shook her head in refusal.

“I hate spiders!”

Are you sure?

Did you know that in another ten years, you’ll become Black Widow, Thor in your left hand and Iron Man in your right, the Hulk as your steed? You’re going to be Marvel’s number one lady until Captain Marvel appears! So cool!

As Luo Su mentally complained, he left the choice to Ashley. He thought that she would pick a romance flick, as there happened to be a pure-hearted campus romantic comedy airing. But in the end, Ashley chose a horror film, and it was a horror film that was about to stop playing and was no longer getting as much attention.

Luo Su suddenly understood that the girl was creating a chance for him.

A single man was a lonely dog, but a single woman was something that even dogs would ignore!

Ashley’s mother was incredibly strict and overprotective, and the sight of her classmates immersing themselves in the sour scent of love caused her to turn rebellious and unhappy. She was now an adult, and her mother’s lessons were gradually loosening their hold. Now that she had met her ideal partner, she was naturally anxious to see for herself what love smelled like.

American horror films emphasized blood, blood, and more blood, the more, the better. Luo Su paid little attention to the film while the monster wasn’t on screen, and the same could be said for Ashley. When a scary face suddenly flitted across the screen, the two of them screamed and held each other’s hands.

Luo Su was a complete gentleman. He let go of Ashley’s hand and whispered, “I’m sorry. It was an accident. It was just too scary.”

Ashley smiled and shook her head, indicating that she didn’t mind. She looked at their parted hands, somewhat disappointed.

After the movie, Luo Su took Ashley to a nearby amusement park. While on a rollercoaster, the two held hands again. This time, they didn’t let go.

According to the research done by people who truly had too much time on their hands, when couples in love were scanned with heat sensors, men radiated heat from their brains and pants while women radiated heat from their hearts!

This meant that a man in love was trying his best to get a woman onto the bed while a woman was not thinking with her brain.

Luo Su took Ashley to a lot of rides in the amusement park, and they even took photos as souvenirs. Three thousand dollars was more than enough for him to splurge, and he liberally used it. While playing a shooting game, he won Ashley the biggest stuffed animal, and while quite a few envious women watched, he generously left a big tip and had the ownership the stuffed animal to Ashley’s home.

Luo Su fully exhibited his advantages, forming the image of a perfect boyfriend. Ashley was completely smitten, and on the Ferris wheel, she bestowed upon him her first kiss.

The Ferris wheel was a cliche, but girls loved cliches, finding them very romantic.

The girl’s kiss was very awkward, as was Luo Su. This was his first time being so intimate with a foreign girlfriend, and he thought that going overboard might damage the reputation of his motherland.

The two of them took the Ferris wheel three times. Now that Ashley had her first taste of love, her IQ plunged, and all she could see were Luo Su’s good points.

“Since we’re going out, you don’t need to talk with any other girls in the future.” Ashley was somewhat anxious. Luo Su had gotten first in the street race, making him the target of many other girls.

“I can’t even say hi?”

“No!”

“Mm, whatever you say.”

“Great!”

The girl smiled, and the two of them cuddled together. They had dinner in the amusement park before heading back to Prosperity.

At the door to the Parker home, Luo Su encountered the person he had been waiting for, Sheriff Sam Parker. Ashley wanted to pull her mother into the house, but her mother refused, making Ashley feel ashamed.

“Good day, Sheriff Samantha!” Luo Su took off his helmet and called out. He was trying to trigger the World Mission, but nothing happened.

Samantha did not return Luo Su’s kindness, her face stern and vigilant. “You can go out with my daughter, but I won’t let you harm her! If you don’t understand this, I’ll take you to the police station where we can slowly talk it over!”

“Mom, what are you saying?!” Ashley was enraged. In a huff, she stormed into the house, dragging her little brother who had come to see the show back in with her.

Luo Su was unperturbed. He had obtained an important piece of news from Aunt Gladys, which he now announced, “Sheriff Samantha, Chris is coming back.”

The male lead Chris, Luo Su’s cheap brother, had been childhood sweethearts with Samantha. The two of them had an ambiguous relationship, liking each other but never mentioning it.

“R-r-really?”

As expected, Samantha’s imposing aura faltered, and she became somewhat panicked. She might have been wondering if she should pay a visit to the beauty parlor.

Luo Su nodded. “Yes, I recall there was a time when he used to call me in the middle of the night. When I asked him why he wasn’t asleep, he told me that he was so ecstatic over your divorce that he could hardly sleep.”

Samantha: “…”

Luo Su smoothly overcame Samantha, who took up a stance of tacit approval toward his relationship with Ashley. Luo Su also used the chance to get acquainted with Mike, hinting that he also liked spiders. It was just that he couldn’t show it while Ashley was around.

Luo Su bought some science books on spiders for Mike and gifted him with a few rare photos. With these gifts, he successfully bought Mike’s loyalty and planted a spy in the sheriff’s family.

In the following days, Luo Su came to know the spider farmer Joshua through Mike while also rapidly heating up his relationship with Ashley.

Samantha would often ask Luo Su about Chris, and Luo Su’s generosity won her satisfaction. There was no young man in the town more outstanding, and she found no problem with letting him go out with her daughter.

A few days later, Foreman Leon happily indicated that he had found a new ore vein, one with gold ore! But when the others went to check, they found nothing. Aunt Gladys indifferently indicated that Leon might have taken in too much carbon monoxide and started seeing things.

On almost, the very same day, a truck with the words ‘Vioro Chemical’ on it drove toward Prosperity’s mall in the middle of the night. As it passed by the spider farm, a rabbit ran into the middle of the road. The driver, worried that hitting the rabbit might lead his truck to explode and ultimately trigger World War III, suddenly swerved to avoid it.

A barrel of chemicals fell from the truck and dropped into a nearby pool, where it began to spread an unknown substance.

The plot had silently begun, but Luo Su had no idea. He spent almost an entire week running between the mine and the Parker home, madly increasing his favorability on both sides.
