In the villa’s main hall.

Lu Ting and Fang Xin sat on the sofa, silently watching the mother and daughter who were surrounded by bodyguards.

“See for yourself.”

Lu Ting threw the investigative report that Luo Hao had put together in front of them.

The two of them looked at each other, confused. They slowly took the report and after a quick look, their faces turned pale.

This was the terrible thing that they had done to Fang Xin five years ago.

The name of the hotel and the man’s identity were clearly documented in the report. There were even records of them transferring money to the man and how they had cajoled him.

The two of them lowered their heads and dared not say a word.

“Are you mute?”

Lu Ting sneered and rubbed his chin patiently.

“Only one of you will live. Whoever says less will be sent abroad as a slave and work till death.”

Hiss.

The two of them took breaths of cold air .

They both understood what Lu Ting meant.

If they didn’t tell the truth now, they would die horrible deaths.

No, that’s a hopeless place. Being sent there would be worse than going to hell. It’s better to die a quick death.

“I’ll tell you.”

Zhang Qian was the first to lose her composure. She stole a glance at Fang Xin and said with quivering lips, “Five years ago, my mother was worried that after Fang Xin married you, she would have the backing of Lu Family and would fight us for the family assets; so she found that man.”

“She arranged for people to get Fang Xin drunk at the party. The wine was drugged and after Fang Xin drank it, she would be sent to a predetermined room at the hotel.”

Zhang Qian lowered her head, afraid to look at the expressions of the two people on the sofa. Her voice sounded more and more guilty.

Fang Xin’s body was trembling.

She recalled that night five years ago.

Her late mother had organized a charity ball. She did not expect that she would be drugged and sent to someone as a gift.

The chastity that she had protected for so many years was shattered; her body was no longer whole.

That night was a nightmare that she would never forget.

Even though five years had passed, the pain was still deeply engraved in her heart!

“How could you say that out loud?”

Chen Yu stared at Zhang Qian in disbelief as she roared furiously, “Even if you told the truth, do you think he would let you off?”

“Mom, I want to live.” Zhang Qian turned away and wiped her face.

“You’re already old, but I’m still young. I still have a lot of life left.”

“Bullsh*t!”

Chen Yu’s eyes were red as she yelled, “Don’t forget, it was you who gave that glass of wine to Fang Xin.”

“That was under Dad’s and your instructions!” Zhang Qian retorted abruptly.

The mother and daughter continued speaking and recounted everything that had happened. Fang Xin felt a chill run down her spine as she heard this.

So, Zhang Bo knew about her being sent to that man’s bed.

She was his flesh and blood but he watched and tacitly allowed Chen Yu and Zhang Qian to do this to her.

He had even let Zhang Qian send her the wine and let her drink it.

How could a person be so heartless?

“Stop.”

With all her might, Fang Xin closed her eyes which were already filled with tears.

She did not want to recall that nightmare from five years ago.

Chen Yu and Zhang Qian heard her and reacted. Zhang Qian nervously made herself smaller, afraid that she would be blamed. However,, Chen Yu panted heavily as she looked at Fang Xin and suddenly smiled.

“Yes, so what if the truth is out now? Fang Xin, you have long betrayed Lu Ting. Do you still deserve to sit by his side?”

Chen Yu stared at her, as if she wanted to put a dagger through her heart.

Fang Xin turned her head silently.

Lu Ting happened to be looking at her as well. Their eyes met and sparks flew.

His thin lips pursed lightly and curved into a smile.

“Xin, the man you spent a night with at the hotel five years ago wasn’t the man they had arranged. It was me.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the entire hall fell silent.

Fang Xin’s eyes widened.
