Mr Quan, Let’s Be Together From Now On - Chapter 53

After Quan Rui acknowledged Luo Wei’s response, he turned and left.

All the important matters had been settled and Bai Ran’s mother had survived the operation. There wasn’t any other reason for him to continue hanging around in the hospital.

When Luo Wei noticed his Young Master heading for the exit of the hospital, he hurriedly called out, “Young Master? Don’t you have to go and take a look at the Young Mistress’s mother?”

“Luo Wei is really quick at noticing these sorts of changes…”

Quan Rui had noticed Luo Wei addressed Bai Ran as ‘Young Mistress’ instead of ‘Miss Bai’ but he chose not to comment on it. Luo Wei could address her as he saw fit.

“Since I’ve already decided to marry her, it’s only a matter of time before we have to see each other. What difference will it make?

“Also, Luo Wei, you talk too much,” Quan Rui snapped without turning to look at him. Then he resumed walking to the exit of the hospital.

Luo Wei found himself left behind, burning with a look of chastisement on his face.

“…Isn’t the Young Master interested in marrying the Young Mistress because he likes her?

“It’s normal to want to visit your future mother-in-law as soon as possible, right?

“I guess I said too much just now.”

Luo Wei clamped his teeth together and quickly hurried after Quan Rui.

“I need to eat more and speak less in the future… If I anger the Young Master too much, I might be the jobless one, not George.”

Quan Rui got into the car without looking back. But at the last second, as he rolled up the car window, he turned his head to take one look at the hospitalization block.

“My marriage to Bai Ran is merely a transaction.

“It’s for my own benefit. Since I have to marry a daughter of the Jiang Family either way, I might as well marry one who’s pleasing to the eye.

“That’s why I came in person to negotiate the terms with Bai Ran.

“I’ve achieved my goals, as expected of me, so naturally there’s no reason for me to hang around here.

“As for Bai Ran’s mother, Bai Ran can take good care of her mother by herself.

“Let’s go.” Quan Rui retracted his gaze and rolled the window firmly all the way up.

The driver responded to his order and slammed his foot down on the accelerator, driving the car out of the hospital at a steady pace.

Luo Wei hurried over anxiously, but he only made it to the curb in time to see the silhouette of Quan Rui’s designated car leaving the hospital…

Luo Wei wanted to protest but he was too tired to make a fuss.

“My dear Young Master… I merely made one extraneous comment…

“Why do you have to be so heartless and leave me behind here all by myself?”

Luo Wei was a little miffed.

“It’s already so late into the night. Did the Young Master intentionally leave me behind at the hospital because he wants me to reflect on my words?”

Just as Luo Wei was contemplating what to do next, he received a call from Quan Rui on his phone.

“Young Master?”

“You don’t need to come back tonight. See what Bai Ran needs and satisfy her. Also, buy her a fresh set of clothes. Bring her to the manor tomorrow evening to get ready. We need to attend a birthday party at the subsidiary company tomorrow night.”

When Luo Wei heard Quan Rui’s brusque voice on the other end of the phone, he relaxed immediately.

“I see… So, the Young Master did not leave me behind out of anger. It’s merely because…he’s worried about the Young Mistress, isn’t he?”

“Yes, Young Master.”

Luo Wei replied. Then, he exclaimed in his heart,

“They have not known each other for very long and yet the Young Master already knows how to worry for her! Man…”

After Quan Rui hung up on him, Luo Wei went over to the ICU.

At present, the ICU required all visitors to be absolutely silent as well as completely protected to maintain a germ-free environment.

Even if Bai Ran were to dress herself up in the antibacterial apparel, she would not be able to enter the ward easily. For now, she could only watch her mother from the outside through the thick glass. Her mother could barely breathe on her own as she lay on the hospital bed and was relying on a respirator to supply her with oxygen.

It was heart-wrenching for her to think about how such a serious incident could happen to her mother so suddenly. Just yesterday, her mother was doing fine…

Alone once more, Bai Ran felt her confusion and anxieties overwhelm her again. She realized once again how helpless she was, not even able to hold her mother’s hand and comfort her.

“But thankfully, Mum’s surgery is over, and Quan Rui has agreed to help pay for everything.

“Mum, everything’s okay. Rest well. Everything will be better when you wake up.”

Bai Ran choked on her own words, and she tried hard to stop herself from crying again.

But she failed, and tears trickled down her cheeks and onto the ground, disappearing into the darkness in the blink of an eye.
