Mr Quan, Let’s Be Together From Now On - Chapter 43

Bai Ran had run out of the manor building in a hurry but when she reached and stood at the grand entrance of Quan Rui’s private residence, she was suddenly dumbfounded.

“I came here by car and the area that we passed by seemed to be very remote…

“Also, this is a private manor and the surroundings are completely silent because he’s the only one living here. A cab will be difficult to find here and it’s already too late for me to take a public subway…

“But the hospital called and said that Mum was involved in an accident. I need to rush over there right now!

“What should I do? What should I do?”

Luo Wei drove over in a car just as Bai Ran’s heart was about to leap out of her mouth in terror. He stopped the vehicle in front of her and rolled down a window. “Miss Bai, please get into the car. The Young Master had instructed me to send you back.”

Luo Wei’s appearance was a great source of relief and Bai Ran immediately got into the car.

“Please head over to Second People’s Hospital of Sanjiang City.” Because Bai Ran was all wound up with anxiety for her mother on top of the stress of all that had happened today, her face had turned pale from the fear and her voice trembled when she spoke.

“Understood, Miss Bai.” Luo Wei nodded his head and when he saw that Bai Ran had gotten safely into the car, he slammed his foot down on the accelerator and the car raced out of the manor’s grounds.

By now the rain had finally stopped, but the road was still very slippery. Because of safety considerations, Luo Wei did not dare to drive too fast.

Bai Ran became anxious again. “Can you drive a little faster?”

“I’ll try my best.” Luo Wei did not reject her suggestion, but he could not speed up much either even as he drove out onto the highway. He found himself trapped in a traffic jam.

It was past ten o’clock at night now. Since it was already so late, there should have been no problem driving quickly along the highway.

However, because it was rained heavily earlier on, it became the peak period for traffic accidents to happen. Luo Wei glanced at his navigator and sure enough, he noticed that there was, indeed, a traffic accident up ahead, a collision involving five cars that led to this massive traffic jam.

Bai Ran was already anxious to be with her mother, so this added difficulty of getting to the hospital made her even more panicked. “Why is this happening?” she moaned.

Bai Ran was extremely distressed. She still had no idea what condition her mother was in. “If If something bad happened to her, then I’ll…”

Luo Wei looked as far ahead as he was able to. It was jam-packed. In this situation, it would likely take at least half an hour for the road to clear up.

He looked at Bai Ran and noticed her face had already turned deathly pale and she was frowning so hard her brows were furrowed. He guessed then that something serious had happened which caused her to rush out of the manor in such a hurry, to begin with.

After some deliberation, Luo Wei gave her a suggestion.

“Miss Bai, why don’t you tell the Young Master what’s going on and ask him for help? He’ll most likely be able to get you over to the hospital immediately. He just needs to say one word and this matter will be resolved easily.” Luo Wei was certain about this. He would swear by it. To add weight to his argument, he glanced at the clock and said worriedly, “God knows when this traffic jam will clear up…”

“How Mr. Quan can help me?” Bai Ran asked rather doubtfully.

“This is a traffic jam we’re in. What can Quan Rui possibly do about it?

“He can’t use his money to push the other cars out of the way!”

“Even though Mr. Quan is filthy rich and very influential here in Sanjiang City, there’s no way he can do anything about this traffic jam,” she muttered in defeat.

When Luo Wei heard what Bai Ran said, he knew that unlike him, she had not experienced the remarkable ability Quan Rui had of getting his way, so there was no way for her to believe his words. So, he smiled at her in the rearview mirror reassuringly and said, “Miss Bai, you’re overthinking this. To date, I’ve never seen the Young Master fail to do anything he’s wanted to do.”

“Is that so?” Bai Ran murmured without much thought. As she looked at the long stretch of cars ahead, she figured that she was desperate enough to give Luo Wei’s suggestion a try.

“Don’t worry, Miss Bai.” Luo Wei took out his cellphone without further ado and called Quan Rui.

Luo Wei was Quan Rui’s personal secretary and tonight, Quan Rui had specifically instructed that he, not any of others, send Bai Ran home. Luo Wei knew immediately what was expected of him and what the Young Master wanted him to do.

“The Young Master wants me to find out everything I can about Bai Ran.”

The call went through quickly and Luo Wei reported the current situation to Quan Rui in a succinct, no-nonsense manner. Then, he passed the phone over to Bai Ran.

“Miss Bai, the Young Master wants to speak to you.”
