Once she stepped out of the manor, she immediately spotted an uncle respectfully standing beside the car, waiting for her.

She recalled that this uncle was the one she met when she left the room this morning.

Young Master He seemed to have addressed him as “Uncle Li.”

“Ms. Su.” Uncle Li opened the car door for her and ushered her in. “Please.”

She hurriedly thanked him and bent down to enter the car.

Uncle Li took the driver’s seat and started the car. “Where is Ms. Su going?”

“Please send me to Yanzhou University. Is that alright?” she asked after pondering for a moment.

The only place she could go to now was the school.

She was 21 years old this year and was currently in her third year of study. She usually stayed in the school hostel and would only go back home once in a while. She had only planned to grab a few pieces of clothing from her home last night, but who would have known that she would be schemed against by Su Lianxi?

From now on, it would be even more impossible for her to return to that home.

When she thought of this fact, she felt her nose tingle.

“Sure,” Uncle Li answered. “Ms. Su, what do you think of our young master?”

She paused at this as she immediately recalled the man’s dark yet deep eyes. His burning gaze made her feel as though she was naked in front of him.

Her cheeks got dyed pink as she nodded. “Young Master He is a very nice man.”

He descended from nowhere and helped her to escape from the Su family. He even wanted to take responsibility for her.

Even if he had been rejected, he did not get angry and even graciously had someone send her back.

However, he seemed to be a little queer.

Uncle Li was relieved. “That’s great, then.”

She did not know what he was feeling relieved about and could only return a dry smile.

After some time, she reached the entrance of Yanzhou University.

She thanked him and alighted. Just as she was about to bid him goodbye, Uncle Li rolled down the windows and passed a tube of ointment over. “Young Master instructed me to pass this to you. Please don’t forget to apply it twice a day, morning and night.”

She dazedly received the ointment and felt her heart warm up.

How long had it been since someone had treated her this well?

She was in a trance for so long that she only realized that she had forgotten to express her thanks after Uncle Li had left.

She stuffed the ointment into her handbag. This accident with Young Master He was a freak combination of factors, but she felt that it would become an accident worth recalling.

Yanzhou University was bustling.

She felt as if she had returned to the mortal world the moment she stepped in.

She reached her hostel block only to find a man waiting by the flower bed.

He was dressed in a set of well-ironed suit. He was tall and handsome. Standing there, he seemed as though he was part of the scenery, and any girls who walked by would involuntarily sneak a peek at him.

Su Zhixi felt her heart constrict.

It was Ning Yichen.

Why is he waiting here for me? Didn’t he go on a date with Su Lianxi this morning?

Ning Yichen looked up at this point. His gaze stopped on her, then he slowly strode over.

“Ning Yichen, what do you want with me?” Her voice was laced with nervousness.

She initially thought that she was conversant with him. But it was the incognizant him who had lain in the hospital ward, in a coma, that she was familiar with—not the Ning Yichen who exuded such an oppressing aura.

“Su Zhixi,” he said in a cold voice. “I heard from Lianxi that the He family’s young master suddenly appeared after we left. He brought you away and even threatened Uncle Su.”

Su Zhixi balled up her fists and looked up at him. “So what?”

“I don’t care what misunderstanding you had with Lianxi, nor do I care what grudges there are between you and Uncle Su.” His face turned cold. “But I won’t allow anyone to hurt Lianxi and the family she treasures. So if you want to hurt Lianxi because you have the He family backing you, I will definitely not let you off! Also, do remind Young Master He that if he dares to make any move against the rest of the Su family, it means that he wants to be enemies with my family!”

Su Zhixi opened her mouth, wanting to explain that she was not such a person. Still, when the words left her mouth, what she said was, “Ning Yichen, do you really trust Su Lianxi that much?”

“Not only do I trust her, I love her too,” he unhesitatingly answered. “When I was in a vegetative state and lying in the hospital for three years, she had taken care of me the entire time! To me, she is the most important person!”

Su Zhixi felt her throat choke up.

She wanted to say, The person who took care of you for a whole three years was me.

But Ning Yichen would never believe it. Because the first person he saw when he opened his eyes was Su Lianxi.

During the past three years, other than going to class and working, she’d spent the rest of her time taking care of him in the hospital. This, he did not know.
