The challenge cup was held in the conference hall, and by 9 AM, the seats were full. All the competing teams were preparing anxiously while the judges and guests were already seated.
There was another guest seating area on the second floor. This was a VIP lounge with a great view, enabling the guest inside to have a bird’s-eye view of the whole conference hall.
As the organizer, Yun Shenhan was in this lounge as he looked speechlessly at the man who suddenly became one of the guests too.
He could not resist the urge to spat, “What on earth are you here for? It’s just a competition for university students. What’s there to see?”
With much interest, He Jingyao was observing the conference hall, and his lips curled when he heard that. “It seems like you’re really not taking this competition seriously as its organizer.”
His friend found it rather baffling. “I’m an organizer only in name. Do I still have to personally organize a competition like this?”
“You should have received a participant name list, right?” the man said while his eyes remained glued to the conference hall downstairs.
Yun Shenhan seemed to have realized something and gave his assistant a call immediately. Not long after, the participant name list was in his hands.
Almost immediately, he saw that name.
Su Zhixi.
Indeed, it was her. Only this woman could make the workaholic put all his work aside and come here.
Yun Shenhan laughed at his friend in his heart. Suppressing the complex feeling that he was having, he poked fun at his friend. “What’s wrong? You still haven’t settled her yet?”
The man curled the corners of his lips and replied, “What do you know?”

The phone rang for quite some time and nobody picked up.

On the other end, Ning Yichen finally agreed to let Su Zhixi bring him to the hospital.
As the car moved alongside the traffic, Su Zhixi was focused on driving the car. Not long after, the phone in her pocket started to vibrate intensely.
It was 9 AM and the competition had started. Perhaps it was Shen Yunshan who was hurrying her?
Thinking about how long she had prepared for the competition but being unable to attend, she felt slightly upset. However, she would not waver because of this.
Ning Yichen heard the phone’s vibration as well. He shot her a glance and saw her calm yet determined side profile.

More than ten minutes passed and the car finally arrived at Siming Hospital. Several healthcare workers were waiting there. The moment Su Zhixi stopped the car, they rushed to the seat beside the driver’s, opened the door, and carried the man down.
Su Zhixi alighted and was prepared to follow, but the man turned around to look at her. “Go back now and you might still be in time for your competition.”
“No need.” She shook her head lightly. “Unless I can be sure that you’re alright, I won’t leave.”
The man’s expression turned cold. “Su Zhixi, there’s no need for you to put up a pretense in front of me.”
