Xia Yangyang answered honestly, “I’m at Poinsettia, having dinner with my colleagues.”
Gu Qichen’s voice turned colder, with a hint of displeasure. “Come home now.”
And then he hung up.
Xia Yangyang stared blankly into space for nearly a minute before she returned to the restaurant. She hastily bid everyone goodbye. “Sorry, something urgent cropped up and I have to go now.”
Everyone noticed how anxious she looked and assumed that it was an emergency. Hence, no one urged her to stay.
Xia Yangyang hailed a taxi and rushed back to Imperial Scenery Manor.
The manor was situated uniquely in the middle of a mountain with a beautiful garden.
From afar, it resembled a royal palace.
The housekeeper was at the main entrance to welcome her. “Madam, you’re back.”
Xia Yangyang asked, “Where is Mr Gu?”
The housekeeper replied respectfully, “Mr Gu is in the bedroom.”
Xia Yangyang ran up the stairs and made a beeline for the bedroom.
She halted outside the door and hesitated for a moment.
In the end, she pushed and opened the door.
She glanced inside but there wasn’t anyone.
There were sounds of running water in the bathroom.
Gu Qichen was in the shower.
Xia Yangyang heaved a sigh of relief before she put her bag down. She collapsed on the couch and went into a daze.
Her gaze unconsciously traveled to the bathroom.
Honestly speaking, Xia Yangyang still felt as though she was in a dream. Everything that had happened till date was too surreal.
She had entered into marriage with the man in the bathroom, on the spur of the moment. And that itself was a long story.
But when Xia Yangyang went to register their marriage with the man, she had no idea that he was the youngest president to ever helm Flourishing Origin Corporation. He was also the eldest grandson of the Gu Corporation, the most prominent and wealthiest out of the top four corporations in Fengcheng City. He was even ranked as Asia’s number one eligible bachelor on the official ranking.
That particular ranking had just been updated a few days ago, and Gu Qichen was still ranked number one.
No one was aware that he was married.
Up till now, Xia Yangyang couldn’t understand why Gu Qichen had chosen her. Could it be…?
Just when her thoughts were all in chaos, the bathroom’s frosted glass door swung open.
Gu Qichen strode out briskly.
Xia Yangyang’s gaze landed naturally on his body.
Gu Qichen was half naked, with a white towel wrapped around his waist.
He had a fantastic body, without an ounce of fat anywhere. He wasn’t fashionably bronze or tanned, but his skin’s color was slightly fair. He looked like a thousand-year-old porcelain vase; beautiful, refined and gentle. But his broad, rock-hard chest and perfectly sculpted abs, gave off a mature man’s charm and strength…
Xia Yangyang entered a trance momentarily.
Although it wasn’t the first time they had seen each other naked, Xia Yangyang had always squeezed her eyes shut as she didn’t dare to look at him.
Gu Qichen gazed at Xia Yangyang’s blank expression and said, “Mrs Gu, are you satisfied with your husband’s figure?”
Xia Yangyang snapped out of her trance and turned crimson red. She averted her gaze hurriedly and blurted, “How would I know when I haven’t touched you before!”
She regretted her impulsive words immediately and wanted to bite off her own tongue. What was she rambling about?
Due to prior experience, Xia Yangyang sensed danger from Gu Qichen, especially after seeing that half smirk on the corners of his lips.
Gu Qichen ambled slowly towards Xia Yangyang.
She only felt that danger was approaching her.
Indeed, Gu Qichen stopped before Xia Yangyang. “Come and touch me then.”
They had done all sorts of intimate stuff, but she hadn’t touched him indeed. Every single time, she had been pinned under his body, and she would be completely under his mercy.
Xia Yangyang felt a bolt of current surging through her fingertips and withdrew her hands reflexively.
But what was bound to happen still happened…
When Xia Yangyang opened her eyes once more, it was eight in the morning.
