Ten years had passed since the game started running. In World of Ancient Gods, every class had players that had been apotheosized except for the Hunters.
Back then, Li Yao had given up his class as a Bandit and played as a Hunter for eight years. Throughout the eight years, he trained and practiced hard with his bow and arrow. However, he wasted two years as a Bandit. It did not matter if he had become the top player amongst other Hunters, he still missed his chance in becoming an apotheosis. He became the God of Accuracy, but he was still just a demi-god, which filled him with regrets.
After Li Yao’s rebirth, the first thing he wanted to do was to make a change in the Hunters’ world to overcome this dilemma they were facing. Li Yao strongly believed that there were many gifted players amongst the population. It was a shame that they had already given up before they even started. What Hunters lacked was a weather vane, proof that Hunters were no weaker than any other class.
With his pickaxe and ten years of gaming experience, climbing up the mountain was considered a piece of cake. In just ten minutes, Li Yao had already climbed almost two hundred yards.
From atop, he could see a statue in the valley.
“The Titan Statue, this should be it.”
The valley was swarmed with Elite Wolves. He could not view the information on the wolves, but according to what he remembered those magical wolves should be Level 60 elites.
Being a quasi-god of accuracy, Li Yao had calculated the monsters’ aggression range with ease.
Li Yao slowly approached the nearest Demon Wolf, reaching the point where the wolf stopped suddenly in its tracks and looked around suspiciously. He backed away immediately.
“Their aggression range should be around thirty eight yards.”
Li Yao returned to the mountain peak and observed the entire valley. The entire valley was swarmed with Demon Wolves. After half an hour, he had finally laid out a safe and promising route based on the Demon Wolves’ tracks.
Li Yao cautiously moved around the Demon Wolves without being noticed. The pathway was filled with twists and turns. If he were to be detected by just one Demon Wolf, he would be dead on the spot.
The route he formulated was undoubtedly safe and mindfully planned out, but the wolves were programmed to roam freely. If his calculations for his plan were slightly off, it would mean trouble for him.
By the time Li Yao reached the safe zone under the statue, his body was thoroughly soaked in cold sweat. It took him a while to recover. Even though he did not feel worn out, he was mentally exhausted.
For an entire hour, his brain was constantly simulating the Demon Wolves’ movement patterns. Any normal player would have drained out and rage quitted the game by then.
“This must be the treasure box.”
Li Yao climbed on top of the Titan Statue’s shoulder. Finally, he found a colorful, sparkling mini treasure chest on the back of the Titan’s neck.
There were two types of treasure chests in World of Ancient Gods. The first type was a random chest, which would pop up randomly in the map. The item level inside the chests would be based on the area it was found in. Once the chest had been opened, it would respawn after a certain amount of time.
The second type of treasure chest was a unique chest. There was only one for each unique item. The positions of these chests were fixed and would not respawn again.
For instance, after Li Yao had opened the treasure chest, all of the same treasure chests in the other novice High Elves’ mirrored maps would disappear.

Although the treasure chests were not locked, it would still take at least one minute to open it. If the player were disrupted while opening the chests, it would take them longer to open it. In his past life, Li Yao had witnessed too many deaths caused by treasure chests.
Creak.
The treasure chest left out a soft sound, and the colorful chest was finally opened.
“Treasure chest opened successfully. You have obtained Eye of the Creator.” The system beeped.

There was also a type of special equipment, which was Legacy-type (Red) items. This type of equipment had its own uniqueness and growth capabilities.
In the game, The Creators were the Titans. According to legends, this planet was once deserted and the Titans were the ones who created life and every living organism.
Tens of thousands of years had passed and the Titans had disappeared without leaving a single trace behind, but their creations and mythical relics were scattered across all continents of the world.
In Li Yao’s past life, the Eye of the Creator was discovered by a Japanese player two years after the game had started. The player was a snob and was disliked by many other players.
What the Japanese player loved to do was to massacre and torment weak players from the Hua Xia district. He did it not only once or twice, but almost every day, making the lives of novice players difficult.
The Japanese player was wanted by many of the guilds in Hua Xia. He had no choice but to go into hiding in the mountain valleys. Here, he found the Eye of the Creator.
The player was a strong player, but he gained no respect from other players. He had almost no friends in the game, even other players from Japan hated him to the core.
Once people knew that the Eye of the Creator was in his hands, he was basically undefeatable and was public enemy. With the Eye of the Creator, he initiated an attack against three or four guilds, which led to a blood bath.
Although he was powerful, he had too many enemies. He was faced with hundreds and millions of players. In the end, he had gone AWOL. He never went back online afterwards, and the Eye of the Creator was never seen again.
The disappearance of the Eye of the Creator left other players utterly devastated. If the Eye still existed, there was a possibility that a Hunter possessing it could receive the divine position of the Gods.
After retrieving the Eye of the Creator, Li Yao felt no remorse whatsoever.
Legacy-type items were extremely powerful. Not only did it give an extra equipment slot, it also gifted the user powerful and special capabilities.
Firstly, the Eye granted its wearer the ability to make contracts with mechanical pets. Li Yao could create any mechanical pet that would possess a certain level of wisdom just like the creator.
Secondly, as long as he mastered engineering, he could create any item desired even without the item’s blueprint. This was accepted and recognized by the game system, and it did not violate any of the rules. As for the quality and attributes of the items produced, it would largely depend on the user’s skills and materials used.
Thirdly, since the Titans had created everything, the user would be able to see the perks and weaknesses of all beings, which meant that the user would also be able to create a replica of itself as a disguise. This disguise could be used as a second identity and it contained lots of benefits.

At Level 0 for each class, players were given the choice to learn one of the three Basic Skills. Subsequently, players would be required to find the Skill Trainers in order to learn Primary Skills. To expand skills, players would have to acquire a Skill Book.
For Hunters, the three Basic Skills were Charged Arrow, Stunning Arrow and Arcane Shot.
Charged Arrow: Increase the power of arrows exponentially. The greater the power, the greater the damage. Level 1 charged damage is 125%, Level 2 charged damage is 150%, Level 3 charged damage is 175% and Level 4 charged damage is 200%.
Arcane Shot: Emits an arrow containing arcane energy, causing 150% damage. 10 seconds cooldown time.
Stunning Arrow: Shoots an arrow causing 50% damage. Arrow slows down target for 4 seconds. 8 seconds cooldown time.
All three skills were decent, fundamental skills that he should have, but Li Yao planned to go solo in leveling up so he chose to learn Charged Arrow first.
Since he was in Free Mode, the arrows in Charged Arrow contained tremendous amounts of power. If his shots were accurate, the arrows would be able to knock back or even knock out the targets.
Since Li Yao owned a white-grade beginner bow, he could only use Level 1 Charged Arrow. With a green-grade bow he could use Level 2 Charged Arrow. Hence, the higher the grade of the bow, the higher the level of the skill he could use. Of course, the skill level after Level 4 would depend on the player’s stats.
The irises of High Elves would change from blue to green due to the Sunwell that was contaminated by natural, dark calamity energy. Now equipped with the Eye of the Creator, Li Yao’s eyes turned back to its pristine, sky-blue color.
With the Eye of the Creator, Li Yao noticed a difference when he looked at the Elite Velociraptors.
“The head of the Velociraptor is covered in a blood-red hue, which means that that is the weak spot. While it is running, the same red spot would appear in various places on its body, meaning that those are also the Velociraptor’s weak points that can result in a knockout. The effects of the Eye of the Creator are powerful indeed.”
Li Yao was delighted. After he had observed the terrain, he reached over to his bow and nocked an arrow skilfully. His bow emitted a bright, yellow glow as he released the arrow into the air.

The arrow accurately landed on top of the Velociraptor’s crown.

Even though his arrow hit the Velociraptor’s weak spot, it had only caused 12 damage points. If his shot were to miss and strike the Velociraptor’s hard flesh, it would only cause 1 damage point with his Level 0 attribute.

This was just another function of the Eye of the Creator. It allowed the user to look into the monster’s information without having to identify it.
Li Yao only had 100 Health Points. If the Velociraptor were to successfully land its attack on him he would die.
In Free mode, if he had enough stamina and damage, his attacks could knock back or even knock out monsters.
While the monster was charging at him, its attack was greatly increased. Correspondingly, it was easier to be knocked back.
Now that the Elite Velociraptor was only dozens of yards away and was still charging at him, Li Yao did not evade the monster. Instead, he stood on his spot and nocked his arrow, ready for his next shot.
When the Velociraptor was just a few yards away, Li Yao loosened his bowstring. The arrow was released and it let out a sharp, sonic whoosh.

Li Yao moved aside and dodged the Velociraptor’s pounce. At the same time, another yellow beaming arrow struck the same spot as the first.
The Velociraptor, almost the height of an average man, fell and rolled on the ground. It was struggling to get back up.
“The knee joint is the weak spot.”
Having ten years of experience himself, Li Yao knew to hit the Velociraptor’s weak spot. Normally it would require six arrows to knock back a raptor, Li Yao only used two.
“The Eye of the Creator and my accuracy in shooting are a perfect match.”
Li Yao nocked an arrow and pondered at the same time. Pulling the bowstring charged up his arrows. One by one, the arrows struck the Velociraptor’s crown accurately.

Velociraptors were never stationary. Although it was knocked back, it was still struggling to get up. Li Yao did not waste a single second and landed as many shots as he could. This was the result of years of practice as a Hunter.
The Velociraptor finally got up and jumped high up into the air. Faster than a bolt of lightning, it pounced toward Li Yao, with its sharp claws extended, ready for blood.
Pouncing Claw Strike was too quick and it was impossible to dodge the attack.
Li Yao’s pupils shrank, his heart was beating violently. With a slip of his finger, a golden beam of arrow penetrated into the raptor’s eye. Fresh blood spilled and gushed everywhere.

The attack induced severe pain and caused the Velociraptor to lose its vision. While the Velociraptor was twitching in pain, his front claws shifted slightly and it activated its skill. At the heart-stopping moment, Li Yao shifted his body and evaded the Elite Velociraptor’s attack.
With his ability to grasp onto every timing perfectly, together with his excellent archery skills as well as the burst of energy in his body, he was lucky to have evaded the attack. He would have been dead as the current equipment he had on would not be able to withstand that kind of elite attack.
Normally, an elite skill would take around two minutes to cool down. When Li Yao used the same method to evade the raptor’s attack, the raptor was already in a bloody state.
Another minute or so had passed, the Elite Velociraptor fell onto the ground as its health hit zero.
