Ma Yongchun saw Ye Qiyi and smiled politely, “How come Beautiful Lady Ye has time to come over today? Didn’t you say you are filming a new drama?”
Ye Qiyi’s eyes were still on Ye Mu. Upon hearing Ma Yongchun’s words, she quickly shifted her gaze to him and smiled gently, “No matter how busy I am, I should still come over to look at director’s new drama.”
“Hahaha, you’re getting better at conducting yourself. ” Ma Yongchun nodded in half-praise and half-jest.
Ye Qiyi showed a shallow smile, pretending to say unintentionally, “I seemed to have seen someone familiar in Director Ma’s new drama.”
Ma Yongchun did not know who Ye Qiyi was referring to, so he asked, “Oh? Who’s it?”
Ye Qiyi lifted her hand and pointed in the direction of Ye Mu, “I know her.”
“Ye Mu? She is also a graduate of the Theater Academy and she seems to be an alumna of yours?” They were from the same school and it was normal to know each other even if they were a few batches apart.
Ye Qiyi shook her head, the smile on her face was still gentle, “No, she is my cousin.”
Ma Yongchun was taken aback, “Your cousin? What a coincidence?”
“Ye Mu, come here.” Ma Yongchun was quick to call Ye Mu over to them.
When Ye Mu looked in Ma Yongchun’s direction, she saw Ye Qiyi and the smile in her eyes dimmed a bit. She walked in that direction with her face somewhat downcast.
Ma Yongchun smiled and the fats on his face were all over his cheeks, “You are Miss Ye Qiyi’s younger sister?”
“Not my biological sister.” Ye Mu glanced at Ye Qiyi and could not help correcting the director’s words.
Awkwardness could be seen on Ye Qiyi’s face. She was displeased, but she still had to show some respect, “Xiao Mu, I didn’t expect you to be in Director Ma’s new drama. Who are you acting as?”
“Song Qiniang.” Ye Mu did not answer. Ma Yongchun answered on her behalf.
Ye Qiyi’s face turned a little ugly. One could say that she had a pretty good relationship with Ma Yongchun. She didn’t manage to pass the auditions for the role of Song Qiniang, yet Ye Mu managed to do it? What did Ye Mu have that she didn’t have?
While the two of them were talking, two people came into the set from the outside. The stage manager walked in and ran over to inform the director, “Director Ma, Sister Ji is here.”
Ma Yongchun looked behind him and Sister Ji had already walked over to them. Ma Yongchun was respectful and polite to Sister Ji as he took the initiative to shake her hands, “What brings Sister Ji here?”
“I’ll take a look at the itinerary of my artist.” The corner of Sister Li’s mouth curled upwards as she replied and stared at Ma Yongchun.
Ma Yongchun was a little puzzled, “Bai Xiao doesn’t have a scene for filming today, so she’s not here… Is Sister Ji unaware of it?”
Ji An was finally done shaking Ma Yongchun’s hand as she swept her pair of sharp eyes in the area before her gaze finally landed on Ye Mu, “I’m not here to look for Bai Xiao. I’m here for Ye Mu.”
Ma Yongchun frowned slightly, he was obviously confused.
Ji An pointed her finger at Ye Mu and briefly introduced, “Ye Mu, New Earth’s newly signed female artist.”
“Newly signed by New Earth?” Ma Yongchun gaped in surprise. He had thought for sure that Ye Mu was joking with him when she said that she had signed a contract with New Earth Media. It turned out that she wasn’t lying to him at all.
Ji An smiled and nodded. Setting aside Ma Yongchun’s surprise, even Ye Qiyi next to them was dumbstruck.
But Ji An did not have time to deal with the surprised two as she walked closer to Ye Mu in her high heels and asked, “Can today’s scene be done by noon?”
“This… you might have to ask the director for that.” Ye Mu looked at Ji An and answered with a smile. She is a newcomer, so it was natural that she could not leave as she wished. Everything had to be in accordance with the director’s arrangements.
“Director Ma, Ye Mu has a schedule tonight and she needs enough rest. As for today’s scenes, is it possible to complete them before noon?” Ji An asked directly, without beating around the bush with Ma Yongchun.
Ma Yongchun looked at Ye Mu.
She was not a little newcomer now, so he couldn’t help but subconsciously nod, “Okay.”
Because of An Ji’s arrival, Ye Qiyi became the third wheel and was summarily ignored.
Ye Mu quickly finished filming her scenes for the day and politely bid farewell to everyone.
Seeing that Ye Mu was about to leave, Ye Qiyi walked over quickly and stretched out her hand to Ye Mu, “Xiao Mu, congratulations. I didn’t expect you to sign with New Earth.”
Ye Mu noticed the insincerity in her words of blessings. But in front of everyone, she decided to give Ye Qiyi enough face as she shook hands with her and said, “Thank you.”
Afterwards, she proceeded to ignore Ye Qiyi and turned around to leave with Ji An.
When Ye Mu was gone, clamor exploded throughout the set.
“Do you have any idea how Ye Mu managed to sign a contract with New Earth?”
“Obviously, it’s her acting skills! Have you forgotten how good she is in her role as Song Qiniang?”
“Are you really so naïve to think that signing with New Earth only requires impressive acting skills? It’s probably because of her backer! This supporter of hers must have an impressive background.”

Ye Qiyi heard the discussion around her and she agreed with what the second person had said in response to another person’s question. Ye Qiyi would never admit that Ye Mu’s acting skills were excellent, so she believed that Ye Mu must have a solid backer!
After leading Ye Mu out, Ji An turned around and said to her, “You go back and take a rest first. Give me your home address and I’ll pick you up at night.”
Although Ye Mu didn’t understand Ji An’s intentions, she still nodded her head obediently. Ji An was satisfied by her obedience.
Ji An wanted to transform Ye Mu into a star.
To do that, she was helping Ye Mu put on an air of excellence to everyone.
It was still too early to go home, so Ye Mu gave Yang Jiajia a call and asked her out. After graduation, they had been keeping tabs with each other by phone, but they had yet to meet since then.
Unfortunately, Yang Jiajia had some matters to handle today and she couldn’t honor Ye Mu’s request. Left without a choice, Ye Mu could only take a cab to the hypermarket as she bought some things with her before going back to her mansion in Hua Jing district.
Mo Shen had returned even earlier than Ye Mu, but he didn’t enter the mansion. Instead, his car took a turn and went straight to the final mansion in the district.
The mansion was ten times larger than Ye Mu’s and it was the most expensive property throughout the Hua Jing district. As he drove by, he met several property caretakers along the way. He noticed that the decoration and the interior design of the house were at a different level when compared to Ye Mu’s.
Mo Shen retrieved something valuable from one of the drawers in the house before he drove away. His car eventually passed by Ye Mu’s mansion, and he saw that she was holding the keys of the mansion in her hand and was about to open the door.
Mo Shen stopped the car, astonished that Ye Mu would be back so early.
“How come you’re home so early?” Mo Shen got out of the car and walked straight towards Ye Mu.
As Ye Mu was opening the door, she turned to look at Mo Shen who was approaching her from behind. A gentle smile appeared on her face as her eyes suffused with surprise, “You’re also back this early?”
“I’m here to get something.” Mo Shen cleared his throat, avoiding Ye Mu’s gaze as if he was afraid that Ye Mu might see through his lie.
But Ye Mu didn’t think too much about his early return as she nodded and opened the door, “I’m done with today’s filming, so I came home.”
She held the doors open for Mo Shen as Mo Shen walked into the mansion. Taking a look at Ye Mu, his gaze softened, “You have a schedule tonight, right? Do you have anything that you want to eat?”
“I’m not hungry yet.” Ye Mu smiled and placed what she was holding in her arms onto the table.
She proceeded to remove her coat when she abruptly stopped.
She seemed to have remembered something crucial as she looked into her shopping bag, “By the way, I visited the hypermarket today and I saw something that I think would really suit you, so I bought it…”
“I’m just not sure if you would like it though.”
Mo Shen raised his brows and looked at Ye Mu in confusion.
