Eddie sat on the ground, clutching his left rib, and looked up in surprise.

The person who had reached out to stop the man in black was actually Nina.

No one knew when Nina had appeared next to Beth. She was wearing a black T-shirt and slacks, making her look very thin.

Her slender waist looked like it could be held in one hand, and her legs were long and straight. She stood quietly without any emotions on her face.

There was no panic, no timidity, no stubborn will to stand out, and no pretense of calmness.

She just stood there calmly.

Then she said, “Jonathan, right? I don’t care about the others, but I want to take these few people away.”

Nina’s voice was not loud, but everyone in the room could hear it clearly.

Beth’s eyes widened, and she quickly grabbed Nina’s arm. “Nina, when did you get here?”

Joel and Marcus looked at the girl in surprise, wondering if she was crazy. They didn’t have much of an impression of Nina because she had come with Eddie and had been sitting in the corner.

Beth quickly pulled Nina back and whispered, “Don’t worry about me, just leave!”

She might have been touched, but she didn’t agree with Nina’s approach. If Nina had not stepped forward and had gone out to the police instead, it might have been of better help.

Now, Nina was also implicated.

Nina gently broke away from Beth’s grip and walked slowly toward the dining table, in the direction of Jonathan and the others.

She paused as she passed Marion and Hiram, glancing at Hiram with disgust in her eyes.

Beth was so nervous her palms were sweating.

Cathy also stared at Nina in disbelief. It was hard to imagine that this country bumpkin could still maintain her composure under such circumstances.

What was Nina doing!?

Jonathan frowned, anger finally crossing his face.

First, there were Joel and Marcus, two insignificant people, who overrated themselves and tried to use Old Henry to intimidate him.

And now, a young girl appeared out of nowhere! She actually used a commanding tone to tell him that she wanted to take these people away from him?

Jonathan was so angry that he laughed instead.

“You said you were going to take these people away? Who do you think you are?” Jonathan squinted at Nina, sizing her up.

Nina looked down at Jonathan and slowly bent her upper body, moving closer to him.

At the same time, a dangerous smile appeared on her lips. “Someone you can’t afford to offend.”

Beth looked incredibly nervous, and so did Cathy. Had Nina gone crazy!?

Joel and Marcus exchanged a strange look.

Only Johnathan instinctively sensed danger.

He easily sensed the powerful aura that naturally emanated from Nina. It made him feel that the girl opposite him was dangerous.

Jonathan subconsciously recalled a recent rumor.

“What’s your name?” he asked quickly. There was urgency in his tone.

Nina raised her eyebrows. “Nina Jowett.”

Jonathan felt relieved subconsciously and displayed it with a sigh of relief unconsciously.

He really exhaled in relief in front of everyone.

Everyone had a strange expression on their faces.

Nonetheless, Jonathan thought, Good… Good thing it wasn’t that name.

But he quickly felt embarrassed. He was also angry because a young girl antagonized him!

“Grab her!” he shouted.

The man in black who was closest to Nina immediately reached out to grab her shoulder.

This man was a retired soldier who had been a mercenary. He had been hiding under Jonathan’s protection and became his bodyguard because he had gotten into some trouble.

The man was very strong. The muscles on his arms bulged, and they looked thicker than Nina’s thighs. He suddenly reached out to grab Nina’s right shoulder.

Beth, Cathy, Joel, Marcus, and the others frowned anxiously.

However, Nina suddenly reached out her left hand and grabbed the man’s wrist, pulling him half a body’s distance away from her. Nina’s right shoulder simultaneously struck the man’s armpit swiftly!

Bang!

The sound of physical impact rang out.

The big and tall man abruptly withdrew his arm, holding his shoulder as he took a few steps back. He stared at the girl in front of him in disbelief.

The clean and efficient attack just now, the swift reaction that directly struck his vital points and the strength that could force him to back up a few steps—they were definitely not techniques that this frail-looking young lady before him should be able to unleash.

However, it was a fact that the one who had fought him off was Nina.

Nina played with the gun in her hand and skillfully reloaded it.

The big and tall man was shocked and immediately reached for his waist.

The pistol that should have been behind his waist had disappeared at some point and reappeared in Nina’s hand.

Jonathan had seen how Nina had gotten hold of the pistol. It was fast, but Jonathan was close to them, and the angle of his view was perfect, so he happened to witness everything Nina had done.
