That morning, there was a brand-new refrigerator in Nina’s room.
It came stocked with two boxes of premium mineral water and drinks.
Nina had to admit that she was very happy with Boris’ attitude because it matched her assumptions of her family.
She decided that the second person she would try to approve of, besides Molly, would be Boris.
After the whole family had been seated during lunch, Mary came up behind Nina. “I’m sorry, Miss Jowett. I apologize for my behavior this morning. You know, I just followed Mr. Boris’ instructions and took the rules too seriously.”
Boris had already performed Mary’s job.
Boris had explained that consenting to put a refrigerator in Nina’s room was to get her approval and acceptance of the family faster. He didn’t want Nina to feel uneasy after arriving, and he wanted Mary to help him.
It was only then that Mary agreed to reconcile with the unruly Miss Jowett for the time being.

Molly covered her face too.

She had also made it clear that she had forgiven Mary for her mistake.

Claude laughed and asked, “You mean those ancient and backward dynasties?”

She began to eat.
Billy leaned closer to Cathy. “Have you ever come in contact with any other people from the countryside? Are they all so weird?”
Cathy shrugged.
Boris tried to smooth things over. “Mary, why don’t you get back to your work? The child might just not be good at expressing herself.”
Mary nodded helplessly and left the dining room.
Not good at expressing herself? Right. This lawless, arrogant, and egotistical Miss Jowett seems to live in dreamland, thinking that she really is a princess or queen after arriving at the Milton residence.
