Without delay, the car surged forward. It was Yunchuan’s reflexes that let him get away unscathed.

A moment later, the black car was already dozens of meters away.

Looking at the leaving car, an eerie smile appeared on his face. “Heh heh, what a feisty girl.”

Five minutes later.

Wen Xi looked at the rearview mirror, and as expected, Yunchuan’s car was closely tailing hers; she couldn’t lose him.

If he continued with her to the He house, it’d probably result in a few complications.

With that in mind, she turned down a different road and kept moving through the roads, still unable to lose him. In the end, she stopped at the Jiang house.

She had already called Jiang Ke whilst she was still driving, for her to come out and wait for her.

With a third person, she was much less worried.

She parked in the parking area near the road, and she rushed over to the house and knocked twice. Someone came to the door to let her in.

“Weren’t you going to the He house? Why’re you here?” Jiang Ke asked.

Wen Xi didn’t explain much but closed the door at the first moment’s notice. With her back to the door, she breathed heavily and tried to calm down.

Jiang Ke looked at her for a bit before stopping the rise and fall of Wen Xi’s shoulders, worried. “Did something happen?”

Wen Xi shook her head, closing her eyes to ease her breathing. Holding her hands together, she managed to calm down.

After reincarnating, she imagined what reuniting with Yunchuan would be like quite a few times, and almost every time, it was when she had some time to mentally prepare. At the very least, she had the time and a way to manage her emotions.

Tonight, however, Yunchuan appearing out of nowhere made her release the pent up anger deep within her; she lost control for a bit.

Looking at his face felt like she was looking at her stupid self in the past.

It was a kind of torment to her.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Jiang Ke looked at Wen Xi, concerned. “Who is it?”

“I’m looking for Wen Xi.”

Jiang Ke’s eyes glared, talking softly. “It’s your fiancee. What happened, did you guys fight? You want to hide from him?”

Wen Xi looked at Jiang Ke with the most composure she’d had. “I don’t want to see him right now. Please.”

“I got it, I’ll help you out!”

With that, Jiang Ke cleared his throat, shouting outside. “Xixi doesn’t really wanna see anyone right now, you should go back first.”

“Then I won’t look for Xixi, I’m looking for Mr. Jiang. We have business to discuss.” The prideful male voice came sounding back, not concerned whatsoever.

Wen Xi could hear what was going on. It was a threat. He was showing his true face.

If she didn’t give Wen Xi out, then the business deals they had going with this guy would be done for.

Jiang Ke wasn’t afraid at all, though. “My parents aren’t home tonight. Why aren’t you guys talking business in an office anyway? Why are you at my house?”

Wen Xi grabbed her wrist, shaking her head at her before opening the door herself.

The man’s coffee-colored dress shirt had two buttons unbuttoned, showing his beautiful collar bones below his handsome face. His mouth had a soft, playful smile reminiscent of a flirty thug’s, and his black pearly eyes gazed down on Wen Xi as if he’d just caught his prey.

The next second, before Wen Xi could react, her wrist was grabbed by him, and her body was pulled forward violently.

Wen Xi fell into his arms, and her small shoulders were embraced by him as well.

The familiar smell of cigarettes came, and Wen Xi subconsciously rejected it.

She violently pushed her arms away and took two steps backward, raising her hand to stop him from coming in.

Yunchuan paused at the hand stopping him, his hand frozen in mid-air as the engagement ring sparkled under the sun.

He lowered it and smiled. “What’s wrong?”

He moved closer step by step, a frown on his face. “I’m your fiance, someone you’re going to love for the rest of your life; why are you avoiding me like this? Hm?”

His smile, regardless of whether or not it was fake, was seventy percent love, along with thirty percent playfulness.
