Qiao Qing and Shen Xin had gone out. Lan Qianyu was sleeping after taking a bath and eating some food. Her mind was in a groggy mess. It was occupied by Ye Yan for a moment, then it became Xiao Qi and then Xiao Han.
The three of them had three different expressions that kept reverberating in her mind. She had a splitting headache and her mind was very confused.
The doorbell rang suddenly. Lan Qianyu burrowed into her blanket and tried to ignore it, but the door bell’s ringing was relentless, so she had to get out of bed to open the door.
Xiao Qi was standing out there with two big bags of delicious food. He said with a big smile, “You didn’t eat properly in the afternoon, Qianyu. So I brought you something to eat.”
“Didn’t you go home?” Lan Qianyu let him in and then closed the door.
“I had a call with Mommy on my way back. I came back after we finished talking.” Xiao Qi placed the food on the dining table. “I bought your favourite yellow croaker fish porridge, black chicken soup, roasted goose…”
“I have eaten. You can have them.” Lan Qianyu walked toward her room. “I’m tired and I want to sleep. You take care of yourself and close the door behind you when you leave.”
“Qianyu.” Xiao Qi quickly caught up with her. Lan Qianyu was about to close the door when he used his hand to block it. He stammered, “I…”
“What’s up?” Lan Qianyu furrowed her eyebrows and looked at him. “If you have anything, say it. You know I like to be straightforward and hate going around in circles.”
Xiao Qi bit his lips, held on to Lan Qianyu’s hand and begged humbly, “Qianyu, help me. Please help me?”
“Help you with what?” Lan Qianyu asked in a doubt.
Xiao Qi lowered his head and said dejectedly, “You know that Xiao Corporation is facing bankruptcy now. Daddy and Mommy are giving me a lot of stress every day. They’re driving me crazy.”
Xiao Qi was talking about his predicament, but Lan Qianyu wasn’t hearing much of what he had said. She had thought that he was flustered because he was still worried about her rekindling her relationship with Xiao Han. She didn’t expect that he was going to talk about this issue.
Actually Lan Qianyu had already expected that Xiao Qi would seek her help. Xiao Qi’s mother, Zhu Min, was a hypocritical snob and a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She had already looked for Qianyu secretly. She was hinting at Lan Qianyu to go find Leng Ruobing to inject funds into Xiao Corporation. He considered Lan Qianyu’s feelings and avoided asking her. However, today he had lost his cool and couldn’t care too much because Xiao Han had come back.
Xiao Qi was finally done talking after a while. He looked at Lan Qianyu pitifully,”Qianyu, I know as a man, I shouldn’t have made such a request to you. Mommy had already asked me many times and I had declined her every single time. I know you hate to ask people for favours so I would rather suffer the indignity and rejections myself. I rather went around asking for help like a headless chicken than put you in a spot. But now, I’m at my wit’s end and really have no other choice so I can only ask you for help. Can you help me please? Please?
Lan Qianyu couldn’t help but feel sympathy for Xiao Qi after seeing him in this state. She advised him sincerely, “Xiao Qi, Xiao Corporation was already having management issues for a long time. Even if you managed to find someone to inject funds, how long can it sustain? What would happen if problems arise again in the future? How are you going to handle it?
