Anyway, Lord Fourth must have planned this a few days before, or he could not have prepared these clothes for her.
Since Lord Fourth wanted to play, she would accompany him until the very end!
However, even though she was worried that Lord Fourth might catch up, she still swam unhurriedly all the way.
Sunlight glistened off the water onto her.
It made her look like a blue mermaid who was tempting Lord Fourth to chase her for fun.
When Ruoyin had been a hotel evaluator in her past life, many of the five-star hotels she had been to were located by the sea. Thus, she could not only swim but also surf and dive without difficulty.
Thus, she was very confident that Lord Fourth would not be able to catch up to her.
Ruoyin swam around in the pond recklessly, and even splashed the water with her feet intermittently, obstructing Lord Fourth’s view.
Lord Fourth turned his head away. Even though he avoided most of it, he was still hit by some of it.
He stared at the woman who was swimming in front of him right there and then, and anger started to boil in his chest. His fury rose to his head and a vein on his temple jumped.
He swam speedily forward.
The pair played the chasing game for ten minutes.
Whenever Lord Fourth was about to catch up to her, Ruoyin swam away vigorously.
Lord Fourth gritted his teeth in anger. As a man, his good breeding taught him not to express his anger.
However, Ruoyin suddenly felt tired.
She then remembered that she had kept fit and was healthy in her previous life.
However, the real Fujin was a sickly person, and she felt herself panting in exhaustion after a short while of swimming!
Ruoyin looked behind her. Lord Fourth was getting closer and closer to her, and his gaze spoke of wanting to eat her alive.
She really wanted to swim away—her heart was willing, but her body could not.
Right now, she felt as though her head was about to explode.
She did have enough confidence in herself earlier and, thus, acted complacently.
However, she did not have the strength to pull it off now, and Lord Fourth was almost catching up to her.
If she landed in Lord Fourth’s hand, who knew what sort of punishment she would receive?
Ruoyin swam slowly as she thought about what to do before Lord Fourth caught up to her.
Suddenly, she had a brainwave—why should she not pretend she was injured so that Lord Fourth could not bear to punish her?
Thus, she stopped swimming instinctively and knitted her pretty brows together. “Aiyah, my leg is cramping~” she exclaimed.
She even pretended to flail around in the water.
Lord Fourth had almost caught up to Ruoyin when he saw her struggling in the water. Thus, he swam toward her anyway and held her up in the water.
Ruoyin pretended to have choked on water and covered her mouth to cough.
“It’s your fault for being playful.” Lord Fourth was still angry and hit her firmly.
“Lord Fourth, it hurts; and my calf is still cramping…” Ruoyin clung to Lord Fourth limply as though she was boneless.
Lord Fourth looked down at the woman in his embrace and saw only a plaintive picture of her knitted brows and her tear-filled eyes. She did look uncomfortable indeed.
Half the anger that she had roused in him dissolved.
He carried her across the water horizontally and spat out coldly from his gritted teeth, “Dare you do that again?”
Ruoyin held on to Lord Fourth’s neck and said pitifully, “Not anymore~ I was so scared back then and thought that I was going to drown. Luckily, my Lord was there~”
With a woman breathing on his neck as she spoke, Lord Fourth’s own breaths were becoming unsteady.
Ruoyin felt that Lord Fourth’s body was extremely hot. She was unsure whether it was due to the hot weather or something else, but it felt as though it could swallow her anytime.
However, the water in the pool was obviously cooling. Lord Fourth shouldn’t be this hot, right?
Quickly, Lord Fourth sat Ruoyin on the cotton rug on land. The rug had been placed there to prevent slipping.
He then examined Ruoyin’s leg carefully. “Which leg is cramping?” he asked.
“The right leg,” Ruoyin said with a pained look on her face. Lying was not difficult to her as well.
Upon hearing this, Lord Fourth acted immediately and grabbed Ruoyin’s foot and stretched it with all his might.
Ruoyin’s toenails looked delicate. They had been prettily colored with coral pink polish and tempted him to kiss them.
When Lord Fourth was stretching her leg, Ruoyin let out a well-timed gasp. “Shhh, be gentler, my Lord~”
“Telling me to be gentler now? Weren’t you quite capable in the water earlier?” Lord Fourth said coldly, but he reduced the strength in his hands.
Ruoyin felt Lord Fourth’s consideration and was delighted. It seemed like she had escaped a calamity this time.
She had gotten the idea of cramping from daily life.
She didn’t know why, but her legs kept cramping at night recently, and it was painful in the morning when she woke.
Just as she was thinking about this, Lord Fourth pulled her down to the water and said, “Stand up. Does it still hurt?”
Ruoyin leaned against the shore and stood steadily in the pool to test her leg. “Lord Fourth, it isn’t painful anymore.”
When he heard that she was not in pain anymore, Lord Fourth’s anger now subsided almost completely.
However, although the woman in front of him looked alluring in every way, she always put on a harmless and composed expression.
Lord Fourth stared at Ruoyin. The clothes on her body were stuck close to her skin.
She had a perfect figure but had an innocent and sweet face. This extreme dichotomy was mesmerizing to men.
The clothing below Lord Fourth’s abdomen tightened. He simply kabedonned[1] Ruoyin against the wall of the pool with his muscular arm on the shore behind Ruoyin’s back.
Ruoyin looked at Lord Fourth anxiously. She had now amassed enough experience to notice the weird spark in Lord Fourth’s gaze.
She looked up at the sunny sky nonchalantly and stammered, “Lord Fourth, it’s broad daylight out here, so can we not…”
“Shh, don’t move. Your hair is messy,” said Lord Fourth as he lifted a strand of her fine black hair.
He then looked at her, unruffled and calm.
His gaze seemed to say, Where do you want to go? Your Lord is simply arranging your hair for you.
At that moment, Ruoyin felt so bashful because of Lord Fourth’s behavior and gaze that she wanted to find a hole to dig into.
Alright, she had thought too much.
However, in the next moment, Lord Fourth intensified his kabedon such that there was no space left between them.
It made Ruoyin unable to catch her breath.
Rather than calling it a kabedon, it was more like Lord Fourth had pressed her against the pool wall.
After being teased earlier, Ruoyin did not want to speak up again, for fear of being embarrassed again.
Ruoyin turned her pretty gaze down and tried not to look at Lord Fourth directly. His gaze was too deep, and so was his smile.
One could never tell what he was going to do and what he was smiling about.
Just as she was feeling at a loss for what to do, Lord Fourth’s deep voice rang out by her ear. “Your Lord picked out some jewelry for you personally. Do you like it?”
Upon hearing this, Ruoyin looked quizzically at Lord Fourth as he reached behind her to retrieve an enamel jewelry case.
She also felt bewildered as well. What kind of good day was it that made Lord Fourth bring her swimming and even personally pick out jewelry to gift her?
