Log In: Buddha Palm Obtained - Chapter 29

‘I can’t believe that I got the Spirit Accumulation Pill!’ Su Qin was elated and a smile appeared on his face.

Ever since he advanced to the first rank, he lost count of the number of Spirit Cultivation Pills that he consumed to cultivate his ‘Spirit’. However, the result was far from satisfactory.

Even though the Spirit within his body was steadily increasing, it was still far from the level that was needed to achieve Spiritual Sense. However, it seemed like whether one could achieve Spiritual Sense did not depend on how many spirits one had.

Initially, Su Qin was prepared to spend decades to slowly achieve Spiritual Sense. However, as he obtained the Spirit Accumulation Pill, Su Qin realized that he did not need that much time.

‘I can’t rush this. Before I use the Spirit Accumulation Pill, I need to make sure I’m in peak condition.’

Su Qin did not immediately consume the Spirit Accumulation Pill. Instead, he calmed himself down and thought about the various details involved with achieving Spiritual Sense.

Even though the Spirit Accumulation Pill helped a first-rank grandmaster achieve Spiritual Sense, the most important thing was Su Qin himself. No matter how amazing the Spirit Accumulation Pill was, it was still meant to assist or supplement.

Apart from that, if an accident happened while he tried to achieve Spiritual Sense, it would have damaged Su Qin’s Spiritual Sense and its effects would have been too terrible to consider. Once his Spiritual Sense was damaged, Su Qin would only have been able to rely on himself.

When he thought about that, Su Qin decided that he would spend his time cutting back slightly on the duration of his training for the time he needed to consume the pill.

The following days continued to pass slowly, at an unhurried pace. The quiet monk life in the Shaolin temple made Su Qin feel like no time passed at all. The only thing that changed was the Tang Dynasty princess who seemed to be stuck to Su Qin. Every day when Su Qin walked past the bamboo grove, she sneaked behind him and followed him.

Since Su Qin obtained the Spirit Accumulation Pill, he was in a pretty good mood. If he was free, he gave the princess two minutes of his time and chatted with her. Through chatting with her, Su Qin discovered some of the palace’s secrets.

According to the princess, it sounded like the Tang Dynasty emperor would not have been able to live past the next few years. The men in court had differing plans and thoughts. On the other hand, the princes were taking advantage of the situation to fight for power.

However, he imagined that once the Tang Dynasty emperor eventually passed away, these princes would have been completely ruthless when fighting for the crown.

Of course, all that had absolutely nothing to do with Su Qin. Even if the killing and destruction caused the heavens to fall, the earth to crumble, and the blood of the slain flowed freely like a river, Su Qin would not have paid any attention to it.

“Little monk, to be honest, I don’t like being a princess. If it’s possible, I wouldn’t want the surname ‘Li’ too,” said the little girl sadly.

“You don’t want the surname Li?” Su Qin looked at the princess in astonishment. It was because the surname Li was associated with the royal family. Many people in the world wished they had that surname. It was like a step into heaven by becoming part of the royal family.

“In that case, what surname would you like to have?” asked Su Qin.

The little girl looked contemplative, she thought for a moment then said in all seriousness, “I would like the surname ‘Wu[1]’.”

“Wu?” repeated Su Qin.

“That’s right because I’ve always wanted to become a true martial artist and to have control over my own life.” The little girl clenched her fists tightly.

“Little monk, is there something that you want or want to be in the future?” asked the little girl all of a sudden.

“What do I want to be in the future?” Su Qin thought for a moment and gave a serious answer, “I want to be unbeatable!”

“Haha!” sniggered the little girl.

Unbeatable? No one called themselves unbeatable. Not even those purple-robed eunuchs in the palace who guarded the emperor at all times and whose power managed to frighten all the noblemen in court and the princes.

Time continued to pass by, Three months had passed by in a flash.

“I’ll be finally able to use the Spirit Accumulation Pill tonight.” Su Qin sat cross-legged and swallowed the Spirit Accumulation Pill in one go.

The Spirit Accumulation Pill transformed as soon as it entered his mouth. It was instantly absorbed into his body and disappeared. If Su Qin was not mistaken, the Spirit Accumulation Pill only affected the Spirit. The physical body was not able to absorb the pill.

Whoosh!

Su Qin sensed the Spirit Accumulation Pill become a stream and it seemed to envelop his Spirit, condensing it slowly and constantly.

Buzz!

While Su Qin’s Spirit underwent continuous condensation, a shapeless essence began to slowly spin inside his mind and it started to diffuse into his body.

In the next moment, a loud bang was heard from Su Qin’s essence level. The Spirit that was compressed into a circular point exploded with a loud blast to turn into a formless current that started to roll outwards in all directions.

The current appeared formless and barely existent but its presence was real.

‘I finally achieved Spiritual Sense…’

At that moment, everything before him looked different from the world that he used to see. Everything within 100 feet, every tree and plant, each flower and each leaf, nothing went unnoticed by Su Qin. Compared to the Truth Seeing Eye, the Spiritual Sense gave Su Qin absolute control over everything within 100 feet of him.

‘Let’s see how wide an area the Spiritual Sense can cover.’

Su Qin extended his Spiritual Sense further out. It originally extended around 100 feet from Su Qin but it started to slowly spread out in all directions. After a short moment, Su Qin discovered that the ideal area for his Spiritual Sense was 100 feet around him. Any further than and his Spiritual Sense began to turn blurry.

‘I’ll continue to extend it!’ thought Su Qin. He decided to test it so he could find out what the limit of his Spiritual Sense was.

Right away, his Spiritual Sense turned into a formless current and rolled out like waves into the distance. Instantly, everything was scanned by Su Qin’s Spiritual Sense. The Miscellaneous Court, the small hill, and even the bamboo grove where Consort Li was staying at.

Within the bamboo grove laid an intricate pavilion. Consort Li laid pale-faced on her bed. Her curtains were drawn, so all she could see was the blurry figure of a person through them.

“D*mn b*tch!” Consort Li’s eyes were cold like icicles as she forced those words out angrily through gritted teeth.

“Please don’t be mad, your Highness!” Eunuch Hong immediately said, “Even though the Mandara poison’s been suppressed, it hasn’t been eliminated. Your Highness, if you get agitated, I fear that you might activate the poison…”

As soon as he spoke, Consort Li closed her eyes momentarily before she opened them once more. She sounded calmer as she said, “I understand. How’s it been in the Shaolin temple? Has there been any threats?” asked Consort Li in a direct manner.

“You can relax, your Highness.” Eunuch Hong said, “Over the past couple of months, I’ve searched the entire Shaolin temple grounds, except for a few restricted areas such as the Rear Mountain. Everything is free of threats.”

“The abbot of the Shaolin temple, abbot Hui Wen’s only a second-rank martial artist. If he attacked, I’d be able to defeat him in under 20 moves. He’d be dead after 100 moves,” continued Eunuch Hong slowly.

“The Shaolin temple may be one of the greatest sects in the world but the power of this generation has completely waned. They’re flattering themselves to feel better by calling themselves a Buddhist sacred land,” said Eunuch Hong as he shook his head. His tone was full of contempt.

However, as soon as he said that, a formless current of Spiritual Sense rolled toward them. It instantly swept across the entire pavilion. Consort Li did not notice anything happen but Eunuch Hong’s jaw gaped with shock.

“What’s this!?” Eunuch Hong suddenly straightened up. It was as if he had just felt something unbelievable happen.

“The transformation of Spiritual Sense? A top first-rank grandmaster’s here?” stammered Eunuch Hong in fear. He was frozen with shock.

[1] Wu (武)- The Chinese character Wu means martial (martial arts) which is why the princess wanted it for her surname.
