A hint of anger could be heard from his cold and rough voice. He even sounded a little impatient.

Looking at the messy bedsheets, she was reminded of the scene earlier and could not help but blush.
She took a look at the time and realized that it was already ten in the evening. If she went back any later, the Old Master would definitely be angry at her and give her a scolding.
Although she was already used to it, she did not want to implicate her mother.
Every time she made a mistake, Old Master Shen would always pick on Tang Huiru and scold her for not giving birth to a son instead.
He would always scold her in front of Shen Youran, and the disdain in his voice could be heard clearly.

She contemplated for a while before taking her bag that was on the sofa and leaving without a sound.
After she came out of the hotel and took a look from afar, she saw Old Wang’s car still waiting outside of the mall.
She put on an act and went into the shopping mall through the backdoor before casually buying a few things and walking out of the mall. She opened the car door and went into the car.
Old Wang was leaning against his seat while dozing off. He heard the car door closing and rubbed his eyes. “Second Missy, are we going back now?”
Shen Youran threw the shopping bags to the backseat. “Yes, we are going back now.”
After she went back home, there was a lamp left turned on in the living room and she stopped in her tracks.
10:30 pm was not considered late, but she really hoped that it was the maids who left the lights on and that the Old Master and Shen Yaoting were not waiting for her inside the house.
She carried her shopping bags to the living room. Tang Huiru was using her hand to support her head on the sofa while dozing off. There was also a thin blanket covering her legs.
Old Master Shen and Shen Yaoting were not around. They were probably already asleep while Tang Huiru was waiting for her to come home.
She half-squatted in front of the sofa and quietly looked at Tang Huiru’s sleeping face. Shen Youran suddenly felt as if there was a lump in her throat. In this family, the only person who really cared for her was probably just her mother.
She gently greeted, “Mom.”
Tang Huiru opened her eyes, and Shen Youran could see the fatigue and drowsiness in them. She covered her mouth and yawned. “You’re back? Quickly go back to your room and rest.”
She replied with a “Yes” in a heavy nasal voice. “Next time, if I were to come back late, you don’t have to wait for me. I am not a kid anymore.”
Tang Huiru said, “City A changed a lot these past few years, and you have just come back from overseas so I got a little worried about you.”
Shen Youran’s nose turned sour. “I will walk you to your room.”
Tang Huiru nodded.
Shen Youran supported her to the second level and walked her to her room. She waited until the light in the room was turned off before returning back to her room.
