It’s Not Too Late To Love You - Chapter 60

It was publicly known that Chi Wan was Wen Mo’s girlfriend. Yet, they still had the balls to harm her?!

Since they were going to die anyway, he might as well bid them farewell in person!

Chi Wan became more and more confused as she listened. She had no idea what they were talking about.

“Have a good rest, and I’ll send you off tomorrow morning.” Wen Mo stood up and added slowly, “You can ignore what I said to you earlier. Don’t mind me.”

She did not know what to say, so she nodded. “Alright.”

Wen Mo’s still expression faltered slightly when he turned around. There was a mixture of disappointment, frustration, and dejection.

Chi Wan watched as he exited the room. She leaned against the headboard, stared at the exquisite, snow-white ceiling, and descended into a trance.

Like a slideshow, her memories projected themselves before her mind’s eye. For one moment, the shooter’s lifeless face appeared, followed by scenes of the fight between Wen Mo and the thugs.

The slideshow then ended with the scene of Wen Mo confessing his feelings for her.

Chi Wan felt troubled.

Wen Mo was a man who stood at the top of the social pyramid, and the kind most women pined for. Although he was continuously rejected by her, he did not reveal any hint of displeasure. Instead, he respected her wishes.

She could not bring herself to detest him.

However, not detesting him was not the same as liking him. She must make this clear.

A fatigued Chi Wan changed into her sleepwear and got into bed.

The thin blanket and soft pillows still reeked of his familiar scent.

She shut her heavy eyelids and dreamed.

It was… A sex dream.

She dreamed that she had sex with Wen Mo!

“Ah!”

A gasp escaped her mouth, and she awoke in shock. She no longer felt like dozing off, so she patted her reddish cheeks. Her body was abnormally warm.

Chi Wan removed the blanket and decided to get a glass of water.

She headed out of the master bedroom. There was no one outside, and the corridor was quiet, and pitch black.

She walked barefooted on the cool floorboards without making a noise.

When she passed by a door which was ajar, a faint ray of light caught her attention. She realized it was a guest room, and her heart skipped a beat.

Did she just hijack Wen Mo’s territory by sleeping in his bedroom?

Chi Wan was in a fix. She believed that the maids would surely tend to his needs as long as he was around. Thus, it would probably be fine if she secretly entered the room to borrow a glass of water.

Truth be told, she was still a bit scared of the dark.

She mustered up her courage, carefully pushed the door open, and went inside.

A lamp on a desk illuminated the room with a soft, yellowish glow. Wen Mo laid on a large, beige bed with his eyes closed, as if he was asleep.

What a beautiful sight to behold.

His sleeping position was a standard one. One hand was placed on his stomach, and the other was placed randomly on the bed. A milky white blanket covered his lower body.

He had a loose, brown shirt on, and his sexy collarbones hidden underneath could be vaguely seen.

As the sleeping Wen Mo had his eyes shut, there was less of a cold, divine aura, and more of a human-like personality.

Chi Wan swept her gaze across his thick, elegant brows, his sharp, prominent nose, and finally, his thin, scarlet lips.

Scenes from her prior dream resurfaced in her mind. She blushed violently and thought that she was going mad!

She was here to borrow a glass of water, not to peep at someone else’s sleeping face!

Chi Wan pushed those indecent thoughts away. She tiptoed towards the bedside and grabbed the brand-new glass on the bedside table. Then, she poured herself some warm water and drank it in one gulp.

After rehydrating herself, she lingered her gaze on Wen Mo’s impeccably handsome face for two more seconds before turning around as she prepared to leave.
