It’s Not Too Late To Love You - Chapter 58

The first factor was that both families were of the same social standing; The second was that he genuinely liked her.

Chi Wan was an orphan and had nothing in her name. Naturally, she did not fulfill the first factor.

Wen Mo was taken aback. Liked her?

He never liked anyone, so he shook his head uncertainly.

Chi Wan took his action for denial and scoffed in her heart. She then said in a half-joking manner, “Do you want to devote yourself to me because I saved your life?”

Wen Mo was amused, but he could not oppose the fact that what she did tonight had stirred up something within him.

“Whatever. Chi Wan, do you want to be with me?” He paused, then added, “I mean, it’s the kind of relationship where we’ll eventually marry.”

He had to get married someday, and he was not against the idea of Chi Wan becoming his wife.

Those promiscuous women who offered themselves to him were nothing compared to Chi Wan.

“…”

Chi Wan was not surprised this time, but shocked!

If he did not like her, why would he want a relationship with her that would eventually lead to marriage?

Wen Mo must be insane!

Her expression froze subtly. She wanted to reject him again but feared that he would get angry.

She chose her words carefully and spoke slowly, “Wen Mo, we don’t like each other at all. Why do you want to take such a huge risk to try it out? It’s unnecessary and pointless, don’t you think?”

Wen Mo understood what she was hinting at, and his warm gaze turned cold.

“Is there someone else?”

Chi Wan answered truthfully, “No.”

She had only dated Huo Tianye throughout her whole life, and his betrayal completely severed their relationship.

Once a cheater, always a cheater. She was the type of person who strongly held this belief.

When he heard that it had nothing to do with her ex, Wen Mo’s expression began to soften.

He also confessed, “I don’t have a girlfriend. You’re suitable.”

Chi Wan flared up when she heard that remark.

“Do you think love is something that can be forced just because I’m suitable?” She snapped.

Wen Mo replied coolly, “In my opinion, being suitable is more important than liking someone.”

Chi Wan retorted with a scowl, “I don’t think so!”

She continued with a jeer, “Second Young Master, you come from a wealthy and influential family. I’m but an insignificant orphan and am perfectly aware that I don’t suit you. You might think I’m suitable, but I don’t think we are. You’d better not make this remark again!”

Plop!!!

As soon as she had finished, the sound of objects dropping onto the floor came from the doorway.

Chi Wan jumped and looked towards the doorway. She saw Qin Yu with his mouth agape, and had a look of disbelief on his face!

“Young… Master…”

Why did he always show up at the wrong time? What the f*ck?!

Why did he have a knack of ruining Young Master’s good moments?!

He must not be a nuisance, especially not this time!

From the looks of it, he was going to lose his bonus for the whole year!

Wen Mo shifted his gaze, caught a glimpse of Qin Yu holding onto the door frame with a wronged, distressed expression, and frowned.

“Boss, I didn’t hear anything, I swear!”

He instantly regretted what he said, and desperately wanted to bite off his tongue. He had just given himself away!

“Get out.” Wen Mo turned away and waved an arm in exasperation.

“Yes yes yes…” Qin Yu picked up the folders on the floor clumsily, and scurried away!

Chi Wan lowered her head like a shy little rabbit, avoiding the embarrassment felt after she made eye contact with another person.

Wen Mo eyed her. Her hair was thin and soft, where her wavy curls gave her a sexy and alluring appearance which complemented her charisma.

After some time, he spoke to her softly, “Chi Wan, I shall give you some time to think this through. Give me an answer after three days.”
