It’s Not Too Late To Love You - Chapter 51

Chi Wan quietly picked up the Chanel outfit and got dressed. As she stared at her red, swollen lips in the mirror, a scene of her making out passionately with Wen Mo in the car resurfaced in her mind.

She suddenly felt triggered and splashed her reddish face with cold water.

The pair of high heels she wore last night were still at the doorway. Chi Wan put them on and headed out of the master bedroom.

“Miss Chi, Bamboo Garden is enormous, so it’s better for you to follow us.”

Two maids stood by the doorway and gave Chi Wan a slight bow, but the disdain in their voices could not be ignored, no matter how subtle it was.

Chi Wan twitched her lips. “Thanks.”

They passed by three long corridors and arrived at the top of a spiral staircase. She held onto the transparent, crystal banister, and descended the stairs.

Chi Wan was astonished. This place was massive!

Did Wen Mo live here alone? It was too lavish for him!

She observed the spacious living room but saw no sign of Wen Mo. Chi Wan felt relaxed at once.

After that embarrassing ordeal, she did not know how to face him.

“Would you like to have breakfast before leaving, Miss Chi?” The female caretaker stealthily showed up.

Chi Wan shook her head and refused to stay on any longer. “I’ll be leaving immediately.”

The caretaker said wanly, “You’d better have some before leaving, or else the Young Master will reprimand us for being inhospitable.”

The maids behind her smiled. “Caretaker Wang’s right. There are more than ten cooks in Bamboo Garden. You can have anything you want, Miss Chi.”

“Yeah, you hardly have the chance to eat these types of food, Miss Chi. This is an excellent opportunity for you to satisfy your taste buds!”

Chi Wan found these remarks to be exceptionally irritating. She responded curtly, “I said I’m leaving, now!”

The caretaker made eye contact with Chi Wan’s harsh gaze and her heart skipped a beat. She replied instinctively, “Fine”.

When she regained her composure, she scowled and glared at Chi Wan secretly.

It was just an act, and she dared to show her temper?!

What the hell?!

Chi Wan got into a black car and turned around to look at the discreet yet luxurious Bamboo Garden.

She did not care even if a palanquin was sent to pick her up. She would not return!

Chi Wan let the chauffeur drive her back to her apartment. When she opened the car door, a dark figure sprinted towards her and hugged her!

“Sister Wan! You’re back!”

Chi Wan was stunned. She pushed the figure away and her expression hardened. “Yun Shanshan!”

Yun Shanshan’s eyes were reddish. “I’ve been looking for you the whole night! Where have you been?”

Chi Wan looked at her. The girl’s hair was a mess and her eyes were bloodshot. Her face was haggard and she was still wearing the same clothes as yesterday. She obviously did not rest for the entire night.

“I’m fine,” Chi Wan replied blandly.

When Yun Shanshan sensed her tone, she choked up and tears almost rolled down her cheeks.

“Sister Wan, I’m terribly sorry! It was all my fault! I shouldn’t have taken matters into my own hands!”

Chi Wan’s heart softened. She changed into a pair of slippers and sat on the sofa. “Then tell me, why did you do that?”

An upset Yun Shanshan sucked in a few breaths.

“I wanted to let you meet Second Young Master Wen again so that both of you can have a proper conversation. Break up or not, a closure is needed!”

“Why didn’t you discuss this with me first?” Chi Wan retorted.

If she did not go to the hotel last night, she would not have witnessed Mu Yunshen murdering someone, and neither would Wen Mo and her…

At the same time, Yun Shanshan broke into tears and wailed. “I’ve learned my lesson! Please don’t kick me out! Boohoo!!!”

Seeing how she was bawling her eyes out and looked like a little tabby cat, Chi Wan sighed and commanded sternly, “Sit up straight!”
