It’s Not Too Late To Love You - Chapter 41

A voice cried out in Chi Wan’s mind, “Look for Wen Mo… Look for Wen Mo…”

Yes, Wen Mo!!!

Like a drowning person who grabbed hold of a life-saving, floating log, Chi Wan realized that she had someone to depend on. She stood up and was about to stride out…

It was only when she lifted her gaze that she met a pair of menacing almond-shaped eyes!

Chi Wan froze as if a spell had been cast on her!

When she regained her composure, she slowly retreated and sat down on the rocking chair.

Mu Yunshen was sitting on the marble balustrade of the balcony. His legs were crossed and he had a relaxed pose. Clad in a black shirt and a pair of black pants, he almost blended with the night, save for his pair of mischievous eyes that glinted mysteriously.

“Chi Wan…”

He drawled as he called out her name.

Chi Wan gulped and she felt her body turned cold.

She did not respond, so he continued, “How much did you see just now? Eh?”

Chi Wan did not want to recall anything anymore. She merely fixed a deadpan stare on Mu Yunshen, who was languishing comfortably on the balustrade. She felt really tired and weak.

Mu Yunshen leaped down, scrutinized her small, panic-stricken face and tutted.

“I don’t know how a cowardly girl like you can attract Wen Mo’s attention.”

If Chi Wan was capable enough, she would have given Mu Yunshen a tight slap without hesitation before answering him.

Any normal person would have been afraid if he or she saw someone get killed.

She witnessed a murder.

Would he silence her, the witness?

As if he sensed her thoughts, Mu Yunshen bent over and sat on the rocking chair. He interrupted her intention to speak by wrapping an arm around her waist.

It was a passionate gesture, yet his tone was dangerously terrifying.

“Tell me, how much did you see earlier?”

Chi Wan tightened her fists and tried to calm herself down. She parted her lips and finally spoke.

“I didn’t see anything. I fell asleep just now.”

“Uh huh…”

Mu Yunshen laughed. His seductive eyes sparkled brightly and that devilish aura of his was both enthralling and fatal.

“You think I’ll believe you?”

He blew at her ear flirtatiously, leaving a warm sensation on her. His lips almost touched her cheek.

Chi Wan maintained her emotions. Once she had control, she forcefully pushed Mu Yunshen away, stood up, and placed a hand on the wall to support her balance.

She said, “I believe you’ve forgotten something.”

Mu Yunshen raised an eyebrow. He placed both hands behind his head, stretched out his legs, and sank into the chair in a laid-back manner.

“Oh?” He wanted to see what this woman had to say.

Chi Wan clearly saw the murderous intent that flashed across his eyes. From the corner of her eyes, she noticed two sturdy bodyguards flanking the balcony’s exit and she clenched her teeth nervously.

She knew that if she failed to persuade Mu Yunshen, she would probably end up like the man who got thrown down earlier!

“I just signed a long-term contract with you. I’m an employee of the company and you’re the boss. My career and even my life are in your hands. You can easily get rid of me with just one order. How stupid can I be as to get myself involved in matters that don’t concern me?”

She was gambling with the likelihood that she was still useful to Mu Yunshen and he did not want to kill her now.

Her contract with Dong Yu was originally about to end and she wondered whether she should hop on to another company or not.

After all, she could not get along with Joy. However, Mu Yunshen used a new contract that was extremely beneficial to her to make her stay. Even an A-list actor might not have been able to negotiate such a contract with him.

Mu Yunshen’s gaze darkened. Suddenly, he clapped twice. “Well said.”
